Science fiction is full of first contact stories, but is there a such thing as LAST contact?  Decide exactly what that means, and write about it.

On the last day of Mermay! @whiteleyfoster had the most charming idea for this picture, and I'm gonna partially quote them:
A.Z. Fell the biologist is at sea with a bunch of smelly fisherman, ferrying him around from island to island, because he’s trying to find this illusive merperson that Professor Gabriel and all those other stuck up scientists told him didn’t exist. And he finds Croalei, they fall in love, and he goes back to the laboratory like, "You were right, I’m a fool for thinking I could find them... by the way I quit” and goes to spend the rest of his life on said island.
And when he runs out of books to read to them, he just starts writing his own.

Evening dresses, 1910s
1-3. Mid-1910s,  ‘Landum Minneapolis’, silk taffeta, Goldstein Museum of Design, 2006.043.006a-c.
The Goldstein Museum of Design identifies this as an evening dress, but the long sleeves, higher neckline, and overjacket are all unusual features for an evening garment.  This is more likely a formal afternoon ensemble: the type that might have been worn to a wedding (usually held in the day in the 1910s) or a very formal daytime event.  (source)
4-5. 1912, on Lucile (Lady Duff-Gordon) 6. 1916-18 7.  Callot Soeurs, 1911 8. ca. 1910-13

I was sitting here like, “Oh, too bad I’ve been too preoccupied with my diorama to have prepared anything for the GO Series Birthday,” and then I realized I hadn’t yet actually showed everyone this thing that’s been eating my life! So here it is, this diorama in a Danish cookie tin, complete with flashing thunder in that first rain cloud.
You know what? I’m so proud of this I’m actually gonna tag @neil-gaiman, there, I said it!

A HOME IN HEATHER
Here we have the whole thing at last!
It was a pleasure to illustrate this beautiful, subtle and dreamy piece, that reaches to your heart with such simple words. We find love in everyday things and so does Crowley and Aziraphale.
I love happy ends like that. No fireworks, no great gestures, just an ordinary day-to-day love that is free to be shown at last.
They are free and happy for forever now.
The story is very sensual so I wanted to keep that in my paintings, I wanted to go a little bit more impressionist and give that blurry, dreamy vibe just like I imagined it when I was reading the fic. I tried to make you smell the breeze and feel the summer sun caressing Crowley's skin.
I'm self taught and I'm not a native speaker so sorry for mistakes!
THE FIC IS HERE - LEAVE KUDOS!
Thank you Verdant Vulpus for your talent and being supportive!
And now...
What should I do next?
