So what I understand is Webby’s strength, love for mystery, spunk and grit comes from Scrooge. That’s it. It all comes from Scrooge. It’s all about Scrooge.

I don’t get it. A show about found family did a total 360, and I don’t understand why. You don’t need a biological connection to be the heir of anything. Why couldn’t Webby embody the traits, values and strengths Scrooge takes pride in without being his biological child?

Donald and Daisy are going to raise Scrooge’s biological children. May and June are as much Scrooge as Webby is. No one is going to question how Scrooge just lets that happen? We know who his favorite child is.

If there was proper build up to Webby being a biological McDuck, then yes, it’d be cool. But there wasn’t. I feel lied to, and that is not how a twist works. At least a twist you want to work well.

So the show is finally over and all this time it’s been sh*tting on Donald’s relationship with the nephews and the finale really drove that home, huh?

I feel like that’s not really the core of it. The huge thing with Donald has been that, more often than not, he is the cause of his bad luck. His actions usually result in consequences, which is why he then lashes out. He is his own bad luck juju.  That’s what’s sorta been missing from the new Ducktales. A lot of bad things happen to him, but he doesn’t seem to be the one causing them a lot of the time, so it ends up feeling like he’s just being thrown around uneccesarily. He’s basically, in a lot of ways, lost the bite he had and that made him fun.  Not to say he can’t be fun and good in the new Ducktales, but he’s certainly a lot... wimpier? In a lot of ways, save except for key moments.

Was spending way more money than I should have getting 12 special edition Duck plushies from China a good financial decision??

Probably not.

But was it a good emotional decision?

Absolutely.

I remember constantly as a teen being unable to buy so much of the Donald merch I saw online and in shops, so now as an adult with a paying job I literally just do what I want and let me tell you it feels great

Thanks!! I’m really stoked I managed to do it. One of the perks of having a job is I can truly do whatever I want with my money, and buying Duck merch is it.

Also, honestly, I think the December one is my fav. I really love the overall look of it.
