summary:

Louis finds himself out of place in LA, unable to get at an itch that’s been bothering him for years. He supposes back in the early days, home hadn’t been a place. It’d been a person. He’d etched it permanently into his skin for fucks sake. It was always him and Harry. Stuck to each other like super glue. Pulled together by some magnetic force, existing in their own bubble. Everyone could see it, but that was half the problem, wasn’t it?

It’s not like Louis can pinpoint the exact moment in time when him and Harry fell out of sync. There wasn’t really one at all. It had been a gradual slip, like the tide wearing away at a sandstone cliff. Chipping the solid foundations until there was nothing left to stop the structure falling to the waves below. It’s not like he spends all of his time sitting around moping over a lost friendship, he’s good at distractions. But LA only seems to accentuate the distance between them. Two separate planets, not even in the same solar system.

Or the one where Harry and Louis finally get it right.

my thoughts: LOVE THIS FIC! the concept is one ive never seen before, the writting is fantastic, and good smut! the ending of this had my heart racing like i was watching a movie and it has you on the edge of your seat! it says slow burn but idk if thats what you would technically call it but i can see it.. love this love this love this (also pretty sure i cried during this fic)

my thoughts: great, great, great fic! like i have this on my kindle kind of great! from what i remember it is pretty healthy with as good of communication as you can get for the setting of the story.. a good slow burn with good sexual tension for all the right reasons!

“Harry, I-I’m so sorry…” Louis stutters out, trying to keep his voice level and even, to portray a depiction of strength, but with the way Harry is looking at him, staring at him like he has a personal passage way straight to Louis’ soul, it’s so hard, nearly impossible.

That simple opening phrase, that short introductory acknowledgement that is often rushed out so easily, painlessly, at a safe distance. Giving a doctor the ability to portray empathy without true emotion, without feeling the full brunt and sheer force of the underlying pain itself.

But Louis feels it, he feels the crushing agony laced behind the phrase, he feels the weight of the painful words slipping from his lips, the cause and effect that the three-word expression holds. The distantly empty “I’m so sorry” that doctors throw out in self-preservation, isn’t at all empty for him. Louis recognizes it, he understands it, he feels it.

  a fated story of two broken and battered boys who barely survived the unimaginable and how the love of one little brave girl defies all the odds and somehow puts them back together.

my thoughts: so so so good, on the closer end to heavy but not too heavy.. well written, im a whore for a good medical fic, angst, sad character death but not main character, sexual tension and slow burn PHENOMINAL! im pretty sure i cried reading this fic and i never cry! literally just reading through the fic to find tags made me want to safely throw myself off a bridge.. also very slow burn with little smut if you like more plot
