I used to be an internet femboy a few years ago and now I agree with you completely. Most of what gets called a femboy identity is a porn genre, where the majority of performers are transfem. I found out when I tried to join this “community” (porn marketing term) when I was young and ignorant.

I thought it was a community for, well, feminine boys. Instead it’s another avenue for cis society to sexually and economically exploit trans women. All the “femboys” I looked up to were trans women forced into this bullshit fetish lie in order to pay their bills, forced to re-closet themselves to survive by relying on the “patronage” of hateful cis men.

Transmisogynistic men created yet another caricature/fetish-object of transfemininity, and many, many trans women and a few gnc cis men (like me) rushed in to fill that gap because of the validation and financial opportunities it offered.
