You do realized that the mummy is a reboot not of the recent mummy movie but of the original mummy Universal is trying to bring all it's monsters together so it's goes beyond brandon what's his name
As someone who can read, yes, I do know that it’s a reboot to bring all the monsters together. But I don’t think you realize how toxic Tom Cruise and all his films have become, how much they are tanked ever since his Oprah melt down. He only recently had good hits because he went back to Mission Impossible sequels, and then he had a boost in his career thanks to Ben Stiller casting him in Tropic Thunder, as a character that no one realized was Tom Cruise.
I don’t care if Brandon Fraser is in the new Mummy. I do care that it’s about a Navy SEAL “battling” a rampant mummy in the Iraqi desert. That’s not what either Mummy, the original or the original reboot, were about. It placed it in a time when Egyptian excavation was actually happening. The original Mummy was about a curse of a mummy being resurrected in 1921. The reboot with Brandon Fraser followed along the same lines, giving us one of the greatest characters ever, Evelyn Carnahan (later O’Connell).
Universal had an opportunity to create a new Mummy, one that they could have done anything with. And instead they decided to make it about a Navy SEAL being in the Iraqi desert, PRESENT DAY.
And also, the fact that they are rebooting to revolve around the “monsters” means that it shouldn’t be about Tom Cruise’s Navy SEAL character, it should be about the Mummy, as Dracula Untold was about Dracula and made him out to be the hero. Don’t tell me not to be upset that the newly cast female, actual Algerian, mummy may be demonized in the most horrendous way only to be vanquished by the noble white American.
Also, that post was before they released the information that the mummy was to be female, and before they gave this redone synopsis:
Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
And I believe that post had been in my queue for a while before it posted, and it’s been like 3 months since. So, your point being?
Yes, I love the Mummy reboot with Brandon Fraser in it. I understand things get rebooted. I’m fine with that. As long as the reboot doesn’t pander and give into the stereotypical white American saving the POCs from another demonized POC, particularly a female POC. We don’t need more xenophobia, especially in the US.
Also, the fact that they have a Dr. Jekyll is rather annoying considering it was a Paramount film originally. Stick with your own monsters, Universal. You did enough shit in the past to obtain the rights to those monsters, you stay in your own playground.

The perfect counter to accusations of impatience: proclaim yourself a Kingdom Hearts fan.
idk what I’d be accused of being impatient for that would warrant a reference to the wait for KH3 (the long dev cycle of FFXV perhaps? but I’m just imagining someone expressing casual impatience and another person being like “I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR KH3 FOR TEN YEARS, YOU CAN WAIT FIVE MORE MINUTES”)
but tbh I’m pretty tired of both sides of the KH3 wait, how one half of the fandom is all “where’s the KH3 news? :(” while the other half complains about the people complaining about the lack of news

Sharks have been discovered to be living in the acidic waters of an active volcano. “ The sharks were observed with the use of disposable robots, underwater cameras, and National Geographic’s deep-sea Drop Cam—divers who have tried to go near to the crater when it is not erupting have suffered acid burns, or backed away simply because of the heat. But in this inhospitable environment, there are numbers of hammerhead and silkly sharks, hanging around and going about their business.”

Today a 16 year old boy was brought into the clinic by his aunt to ‘have the talk’ because his school didn’t teach sex ED and his mother wouldn’t talk to him about sex.
She spent 40 bucks so he could get tested for the first time.
I spent an hour talking to this young boy about sex. I got to have the sex talk with him. I showed him how to properly use a condom and protect himself and his partners. We talked about STDs and pregnancy prevention. We even talked about pubic grooming and ways to avoid razor burn. This poor boy has never had someone talk to him about anything related to the changes his body is going through.
And then we spent 20 minutes talking about consent and how important it is.
Growing up I never, ever had someone talk to me about consent and its importance. I even had sex ED in school!
This shit is important ya’ll.
Planned Parenthood is important
