Unveiling “Main Aur Meri Awargi” - The Lost Gem of Kishore Kumar 🎶, now sung by Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee
I’m thrilled to share an unforgettable musical treasure with all of you—“Main Aur Meri Awargi”, an unreleased, melancholic masterpiece originally sung by the one and only Kishore Kumar. This song captures the essence of solitude and longing, a reflection of emotions about a loved one lost.
With soulful lyrics by Javed Akhtar, one of the most revered lyricists of our time, and a haunting melody composed by the iconic R.D. Burman, this piece unites four legends of Indian music to create something truly timeless.
As you listen, let yourself be immersed in the heartfelt vocals, the poetic brilliance of the lyrics, and the plaintive music of Pancham Da. I hope this lost gem touches your heart as deeply as it did mine.

The “Times of India” carries an article on #MMRDA proposal to raise money through bonds. We are proposing to raise 14,000 crore INR bonds of a duration of 50 years, with a lock in period of 15 years and moratorium on payment of principal for 15 years. This is the first time in the history of the country that such an attempt of this duration is being made. The proposal is backed by MMRDA’s land assets and is with the Government of Maharashtra for final approval. If approved, it shall enable us to raise log term finance that will enable successful financing of long term infrastructure projects which traditionally have a long gestation period…

The Times of India carried this new article on the Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar Slum Rehabilitation project, which is the first of it’s kind undertaken by any Government agency. This is an absolutely new vertical that is being started. The only similar project of this type is the Thane Cluster Redevelopment Project which was undertaken by CIDCO during my stint as the CMD there. The project has been worked out as financially viable and has received offers from several banks for finance. It aims to transform one of the City’s oldest slums into a mixed use residential and commercial hub and rehabilitate around 16,575 slum dwellers..

This article, published in the Times of India bought back memories when I, as AMC (Projects) was the part of the BMC team that led the commissioning of the Country’s largest water tunnel, the Gundavaili-Kapurbawdi-Bhandup complex tunnel, which was around 3.8meters finished Dia, around 15 plus kms long, the largest and the longest in the country. This project was a part of the Middle Vaitarna Water Supply Project, which now serves the CIty of Mumbai. We also commissioned the Powai Veravali tunnel and stabilised it, and commenced the construction of the Powai Ghatkopar, the Amar Mahal- Wadala and Amar Mahal- Trombay Tunnels..

The pioneering project of Thane Borivali Twin Tunnel is poised to transform connectivity between Mumbai and Thane. Here are a few significant features of the project:
-Spanning 11.8 km, the Thane-Borivali Twin Tube Tunnel will be India's longest and largest urban tunnel.
-Utilizes the world’s largest Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) for construction efficiency.
- Connects Thane to National Highway 8 in Borivali, passing beneath the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
-Each tunnel features two unidirectional lanes and an emergency lane, interconnected by cross passages every 300 meters.
- Designed with state-of-the-art ventilation systems meeting international standards (NFPA502 and BD78-99).
- Projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 150,000 metric tonnes annually and decrease particulate matter, enhancing environmental sustainability.
- Utilizes 4,000 metric tonnes of structural steel and 660,000 cubic meters of concrete for robust infrastructure.
- Promises to reduce travel time from Borivali to Thane from 1-1.5 hours to just 12 minutes, benefiting approximately 100,000 commuters and reducing congestion and pollution on Ghodbunder Road.
-The project highlights MMRDA's commitment to protecting the sensitive ecosystem of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, showcasing their dedication to sustainable development.
