“no!” she shouts. the silver-haired lady covers her face with her hands for a few moments, breathing deeply. uncovering, she looks up at him. “no, cedric. no. i can’t do this!” she continues to keep her voice raised, however unwise that may be considering they were meeting in his chambers. “lower your voice,” he finally says, to which she only responds with a look that could surely kill. “this.. you are asking too much. this is treason,” she says, obliging him and bringing her voice down. “and everything we’ve discussed before? is that not treason as well?” he challenges. for once, he’s left her at a loss for words. he certainly isn’t wrong. she has said far more than she ever should’ve to a man whose loyalties lie with another kingdom-- a prince, no less. what made this different in her eyes, though, is that he was asking that she give him more information on rhaena. it was one thing for her to betray arryk, she had never liked him in the first place. rhaena was family.. she hadn’t done anything wrong. sure, she had a temper and a great contempt for his kingdom but her heart was always in the right place. she simply wanted to rule the westeros the way her father had. all this independence business had ruined those plans, did she not have a right to be angry the way she was? “i’m not doing this,” she says bitterly, pulling the door open harshly only for him to quickly slam it shut. “we’re not done here,” he says sternly. the loud noise shocks her, jumping slightly. “you’re asking too much,” she nearly whispers, her stone-faced facade beginning to fade away. where she had enjoyed their growing friendship before, she could not stand the way her guard had begun to fall around him. had he been the one to manipulate her all along? “this could cost me my life-- did you even consider that?”

ELAENYS.

                         THE BOND OF THE TARGARYEN sisters were close one, but now, after another tragedy had fallen upon them, elaenys felt more closer to ther older sister than ever. they tried to hurt them — both of them — and elaenys was worried about her sister’s safety. the dragons didn’t showed her anything, but the murders could be interpreted as a omen that the targaryens could only trust themselves. elaenys extended the feeling to her mother’s maiden family — they were bond to the targaryens by blood, and falhar was also affected in the ball. but she tried to not thing so much about that — everything was becoming too much for elaenys to handle alone.

                         BUT SHE COULDN’T PUT HER burden in someone’s else shoulders. yet, caerella was someone that elaenys could vent up with, but without revealing her curse. the younger dragon felt guilty for saying nothing, but she didn’t want to worry anyone. after all, she had only one dream — and it had already come true. it wouldn’t make any difference for anyone to know about her dreams now — however, if elaenys had another one, caerella would be the first person that she would seek guidance from. she wouldn’t be able to handle everything quietly again. elaenys smiled when she noticed caerella upcoming presence in the same room. “ cae ! ” she exclaimed, a a loving smile adorning her lips. “ how are you, sister ? ” 

truthfully, she had not expected to find the younger girl upon entering the room. nonetheless, caerella is happy to be in the presence of her sister, especially during such a time. it was important that she see her often, to be able to see with her own eyes that she’s safe. while she has no reason to doubt the abilities of targaryen & iron throne-loyal guards, one could never be too careful. the older dragon sister smiles in return as she makes her way closer. “elaenys,” she replies. “i am.. well, i am hanging in there, i suppose.” despite the fact that her words are not exactly reassuring, she doesn’t let her smile fade as to not worry her sister.

“and how are you? what are your plans for the day, hm? perhaps i can join you.” maybe such an outing will help to draw her mind away from the dark thoughts and images that now haunt her. after all, elaenys had always been a ray of light in her life-- casting out the darkness that at times crept into her heart and mind.

with her head down, caerella quietly makes her way back to her chambers. as she makes her way around the corner, though, she is ambushed. the person manages to slam her into the wall, pinning her arms as well-- effectively rendering her helpless. after a sharp inhale, she is ready to scream when the light flickers and illuminates their face. it is none other than rowan arryn. she sighs.. followed by the softest, slight giggle. “seven hells, there was no reason to be so aggressive,” she says, keeping her voice down as to not alert any of the guards who would certainly have a problem with their current positioning. as the vale heir lets go of her wrists, her freed hands immediately move to hold his face. she smirks momentarily before boosting herself up to press her lips against his. for a moment, she almost forgets where they are. the targaryen lady breaks away with a sigh and shakes her head. “you know we can’t do this,” she whispers.

caerella knows she’s lucky to have been invited to such a meeting at all. between her meddling with the rose prince and constantly pushing her cousin, she’s finally been given somewhat of a voice. it is not wise to push that-- once again, she knows this. yet she cannot seem to help herself anyway. though, she supposes she’s always been that way. constantly pushing the boundaries set for her, even as a young girl. she always believed herself to be worthy of greatness and if she had to fight tooth and claw for it then so be it. the ends justify the means, she truly believes that.

when one of the lords makes a comment that she interprets as an insult against her house, she’s ready to stand up and voice her concerns-- loudly. of course, rhaena knows the lady of dragonstone quite well and before she can lift herself out of the chair, the dragon queen is placing a hand on the other young woman’s knee. caerella looks over at her slowly, the frustration written all over her face though she dare not say a word. begrudgingly, the silver-haired lady bites her sharp tongue. it is difficult for sure but if she doesn’t want to squander this opportunity or worse, end up in some sort of trouble, it is what she must do.

† ruling lord vaelar targaryen: father of now ruling lord targaryen, lady caerella and lady elaenys. he was an intelligent but complex man. he died in 503AC in an accidental drowning.

lady alannys targaryen née fanghorn: mother of now ruling lord targaryen, lady caerella and lady elaenys. the widow has not left dragonstone since the death of her husband. she cares deeply for her family but has become withdrawn ever since.

ruling lord targaryen: the firstborn and only son of lord vaelar and lady alannys targaryen. took over as ruling lord in 503AC following the death of his father. some argue that as the last living male heir of house targaryen, he has claim to the iron throne.

lady caerella targaryen: the secondborn and eldest daughter of lord vaelar and lady alannys targaryen. once betrothed to harrion stark, she has not found a suitable match since. sometimes called the stone dragon, caerella is cunning and ambitious.

lady elaenys targaryen: the lastborn daughter of lord vaelar and lady alannys targaryen. the once free-spirited & happy young girl has grown more serious since becoming plagued by dragon dreams.

the targaryen lady decides that she has waited more than long enough. sighing in frustration, she finishes off the drink she’d ordered and tosses the owed coin onto the table. she had really grown to like cedric over the weeks but this was ridiculous, she thought. it was no matter, she would simply let him have it at their next meeting. their relationship had evolved into banter like that. she adjusts her hood and tilts her head down as she makes her way out of elia’s smile. 

did you think i wouldn’t find out? the voice comes from behind as she slips out into the watergardens. she turns around quickly, head tilting with confusion. “cedric?” she questions. “i don’t know what you’re talking about--” she adds, walking closer to him. “did you think i wouldn’t find out?” he asks again, voice booming. it startles her and as they stand in silence for a few more moments, it dawns on her what he is referring to. but how could he have found out about the plan she’d made with rhaena to get as much information as possible. had she told him herself? why would she do that? caerella’s unable to wrap her head around the idea but struggles to find another explanation.

“cedric...” she says quietly as she gets closer. his only response is to step back. “you have to understand.. i do what i must in order to help my family. would you not have done the same if emeric asked?” she begins. “i won’t pretend that i feel bad for how this all started.. but you must know now that i do value your company. this is not simply a matter of alliances.” she clenches her jaw as she breaks eye contact to look away for a moment. “please tell me you understand.”
