quick run down of his au for the event:

he still grew up poor in a close knit community in his ward

he’s human but he grew up alongside non humans && hated the treatment they got

he’d sing for the community on the street or at get togethers just to lift the spirits in the face of discrimination && bring the community together

one day the nonhumans in his neighbourhood were nearly chased out but lucio fought back, rising up to && bringing everyone together to chase them out of the neighbourhood so they’d leave them alone

he rose to fame with his music -- as a dj who also engineers light shows at his concerts && is now on tours 

he spread positivity && a loud message of anti-discrimination

there were a few familiar faces he’d run into -- whether they came and went or not -- but seeing those he knew was never a bad thing.

     WHAT is it that people usually eat when they’re sick again? It started with an s, maybe. There’s a vague memory of them coming in a horrid container that he’d found impossible to open until he’d discovered it’s specific “opener” tool. He wasn’t sure what to grab in the store, really, not that it could be helped when his thought process was muddied thanks to the headache. Trying to translate words only seemed to make things worse to a point where banging his head against the wall seemed favorable than sniffling his way through food aisles trying to find the magic cure for his illness.

     Eventually, he’d given up. Grabbing anything with pictures even remotely looking similar to leves he stores towards the closest person with a hoarse voice and flushed face that not even all that caked on make up of his could hide.

“ Read this for me. ” A box of chicken broth was forcefully shoved against the stranger’s arm, but not two seconds later does the King retract it and begin hoarsely coughing into his sleeve. It’s all the time he needs to realize the one minor mistake he’s made with his request.

“ …Please. ”

WHEN HE MAKES his way to the store, he doesn’t entirely expect to be stopped by anyone. it’s just a routine trip for some food and snacks but he’s never going to just not help someone -- besides, this person is very obviously sick. box of broth in hand, he looks it over then looks up at the other -- with a friendly smile despite the forceful act.

        ❝ that’d be chicken broth. but, uh, don’t think that’ll do much for a flu if you’re just gonna eat that. how ‘bout i make you some canja. it’s a chicken and rice soup from my home. how’s that sound? ❞

he remembers those sicknesses that went through the favela, infecting everyone because of numbers -- how the soup would make him feel warm inside and like he could take on the world again, even through sickness. or maybe it was just a heavy dose of nostalgia.

      he demonstrates in one quick, fluid movement as he skates around her then up the side of a wall, stopping back where he was before.
