How to Create Amazing Pictures with your Drone
Aerial photography was once an expensive hobby as you could only take aerial photographs by being physically high up in an aircraft using cumbersome, heavy and expensive equipment. Today, thanks to easily affordable drones, aerial photography is no longer the domain of professionals and the rich.
Top drone manufacturers today ensure that their drones come equipped with the best digital cameras so that you can take amazing aerial pictures with your drone. Some of the best aerial photography drones in the market today are DJI, Yuneec, Service-Drone, Aerialtronics and 3DR.
DJI is the market leader in manufacturing aerial photography drones. In fact, the Inspire 2 model is the first choice for professional photographers the world over.
Drones like the DJI models connect to your smartphone or tablet. This offers you a chance to see exactly what you are going to photograph as you get a live feed from the camera. This really helps as you aren’t “shooting in the dark”.
Getting Started
Before you start taking pictures, make sure you sync your mobile device to your drone so that the controls are okay. Also ensure that the camera settings on the drone are fixed to your satisfaction. You can do this in the camera functions menu in the DJI app, for example.
While checking the camera settings, ensure that you fix the shutter speed, ISO, aperture, focus method, white balance and stabilization for aerial photography. Make sure the shutter speed is high, the ISO is in high resolution, the aperture is at its maximum and the focus method is in continuous mode. White balance is something you need to experiment with to get the right light exposure for the image. Most drones will come with gimbals that will ensure stability.
Creating Amazing Pictures
Taking the pictures is only a part of the process of creating amazing pictures. In aerial photography, getting the “perfect shot” can sometimes be impossible. After all, you are taking these pictures remotely.
That is why the editing process becomes so critical.
While editing your drone pictures, make sure you have the right kind of editing software. There are a lot of options available in the market, such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Corel Paintshop Pro, etc. Most professional aerial photographers prefer to use Adobe Lightroom as it has the largest range of professional editing tool and you can really play around with the images.
Whichever editing software you use, these are the basics of editing that you need to keep in mind:
Cropping – You need to ensure that you crop your picture correctly. For aerial photography, the most important thing you want to keep in mind while cropping your photo is the Rule of Thirds. Think of your picture as tic-tac-toe board. You want your focus points to be at the intersections of the lines of the board. Once you have your main focus point on one of the intersections, you can go ahead and crop your picture.
Object Removal – You drone will capture unwanted objects in your image. Thankfully, you can use the “clone” option in your editing software to remove that blimp in your picture. This tool simply copies the pixels of the image you want and superimposes it on the unwanted object, thus removing it from the picture.
Harmonizing levels – You can use the contrast tool to darken shadows and brighten highlights. You can do this by going to the levels option in the contrast setting and adjusting it to your satisfaction.
Correcting Colors – You can correct the colors in your photos by using the saturation setting. This can help your pictures look richer and more vibrant.
“Magic Hour” or “Golden Hour” Effect – This tool helps your picture get that “Magic” or “Golden” hour effect. The Golden or Magic Hour in photography is the one hour after sunrise and the one hour before sunset. At this time, due to the angle of the sun’s rays everything has a golden hue and shadows are dramatically long. You can achieve this look for your pictures by playing around with the hues. Luminar is the best editing software if you are specifically looking for that image.
Removing Haze: In aerial photography, there can be haze caused by atmosphere in your image. You can use the contrast option to clear out your picture.
Reducing Noise – Noise is the photographic term for the graininess in a picture which is caused by low light. You can minimize this effect by using the luminance tool in your editing software.
Removing Blurs – if the blurring in your picture is minor then you can use the sharpness tool to ease out some of it.
Remember, creating amazing pictures with your drone takes time and practice. So don’t give up and keep at it.

Hover Camera Passport is finally available on Amazon !
Hello dear subscribers 🙂
It’s time for our monthly dose of drone related news! This time around, we won’t be giving you a short list of most popular drones during the first 2 weeks of this month. Honestly, there is not a lot of new drones just yet, but it seems to me there will be a storm by the end of this month when AirDog ADII finally hits the shelves.
So, instead, we decided to take a closer look at a particularly interesting selfie drone called Hover Camera Passport. Judging by its popularity (partially driven by Unbox Therapy showcase), we just couldn’t bypass it… so, let’s see what’s this high-end selfie drone capable and how well does it justify its relatively big price tag ! //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "manual"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Hover Camera and 3 similar products : "; amzn_assoc_linkid = "a2fb8ff098240a7f6a652b1a1e43483e"; amzn_assoc_asins = "B071NNHF52,B072C36ZVK,B01M1E1CRE,B06WVDJYGD"; //]]>
Selfie drones are making a killing…
Even though the biggest numbers are being crunched in the premium drones section, there a lot of stuff going on in terms of foldables too. You see, ever since the likes of Zerotech Dobby and Wingsland S6 started rising from the dirt, a proper craze for selfie drones has successfully developed… With it, a brand new term – Dronie. You’ve guessed it – its a selfie taken with a drone.
why do people love selfie drones so much?
Well, here’s a counter question – Why do people love selfies that much? Well, apart from the obvious, selfies have become somewhat of a social standard, especially for social media celebrities who are leading the charge. In other words, as long as there are plenty of popular social media platform, both selfies and selfie drones will keep on gaining popularity and making a killing profit.
Hover Camera Passport is finally available on Amazon
And it was about damn time… Hover Camera Passport is now finally available for purchasing via Amazon, world’s biggest online marketplace. At the moment, you can find it for roughly $500 which, truth be told, might seem expensive at first glance. However, once you take a closer look at everything this drone has to offer, rest assured the price will seem more than justified at that point.
So, to summarize – if you want the best deal and safest transaction, make sure you get Hover Camera Passport straight off of Amazon!
Range reflects the current standards with selfie drones
For those of you who consider selfie drones to be a new term, I believe you will be quite surprised when I inform you that they do not sport breathtaking operating ranges. Most of the time, you will be looking at a number below 50 meters. That’s the case with Hover Camera Passport too. It can reach only approximately 20 meters… which is still enough for snapping awesome selfies.
Flight duration is looking sharp!
Battery, on the other hand, is suprisingly good. As the title above suggests, flight duration is looking quite sharp, reaching up to 10 minutes of precise hovering. Needless to say, this is thanks to the propriatary 2S 1360mAh LiPo battery that weighs only 71 gram. For contrast, the entire drone weighs 242 grams with the camera popped in. So, with all that said, there is no doubt that Hover Camera Passport can deliver at least when it comes to airtime.
Camera is absolutely brilliant
As far as the camera is concerned, you can rest assured that the Hover Camera Passport will not dissapppoint you by any means. That’s becuase it sports a built-in miniature CMOS sensor with 13 effective megapixels. Plus, this little camera is tiltable to a certain degree, allowing you to set up the optimal selfie angle with ease. As far as the details go, Hover Camera Passport’s camera can record 4K videos at 30fps in .mp4 format.
Furthermore, the maximum image size is 4208×3120. We are talking about a 1/3.06-inch CMOS Sensor with 78.4-degree field of view. Not exactly wide angle, but I suppose most people prefer it this way for the sole purpose of distortion-free selfies. And when it comes to selfies, this camera is nothing short of spectacular. Thanks to features such as facial recognition and orbiting, you will enjoy autonomous flying experience allowing you to take the perfect stance for the upcoming shot. Once you see it in action, there’s no doubt it will blow you away!
This is why Hover Camera Passport is better than all other selfie drones on the market
Don’t worry guys, we’ve saved the best for last…
In addition to everything that has been stated above, there is one more awesome thing about Hover Camera Passport – the design. You see, this mini drone is built out of carbon fiber and sports a fully enclosed design which makes it pretty much crashproof. You can even go ahead and slap it while it’s flying and it will not hurt you or items nearby… except perhaps knock them off if they’re lightweight. Plus, this birdie is foldable !

Best selling drones in September 2017
With September already in full spark, there are lots of new drones to choose from. Some of them fall in the entry level category but bear solid specifications. Others, on the other hand, are a bit pricier but possess unparalleled performance as compensation.
However, there are also newly released drones that are priced high but possess mediocre performance. As a matter of fact, John, one of our staff members, got hooked on a new toy-grade drone only to receive it DOA (dead on arrival). So yeah, what I’m basically trying to say here is that you should know what you’re looking for otherwise you’ll end up like John. You know how that old meme goes – Don’t be like John!
That’s why I’ve done a research and am presenting you with the best-selling drones in first 2 weeks of September 2017! The lists are relatively short (3 entries in each) but will still serve as proper guidance on what to expect from similarly priced drones. Each and every one of drones listed below is well-capable and provides great value for money. It’s on you, however, to decide whether you’re going for a toy-grade or premium drone… There’s no space for my opinion in that decision.
Category 1 : Cheap drones
In this section, you will see 3 drones that have been massive hits in the first 2 weeks of this month. Unsurprisingly though, as many parents go with drones as incentives for good staring grades in school. As a matter of fact, I bought those mini war drones for Mike. They look absolutely dashing, plus they’re incredibly cheap. But I gave it under one conditions – no room for C’s this time around! Try doing the same if you have children, who knows, it might be a worthwhile parenting tactic. If it sounds interesting, here are 3 great drones to start off with:
NameImageCameraRangeFlight timeBest Price3. AIR WARS BATTLENo30 m6 minSee price now 2. UDI U818PLUS720p60 m15 minSee price now 1. Altair AA108720p100 m10 minSee price now
3. Air Wars Battle Drones
Starting off with cheap drones, at the third spot we have the previously mentioned Air Wars Battle Drones. This is not a single drone but 2 drones combined… and my oh my, they will produce a ton of fun, especially if you have children. As a matter of fact, this is a completely new concept to toy-grade drones and I really believe it will make a proper name for itself on the market. For now, let’s see what exactly can these little drones do!
First things first, one thing needs to be settled before we even get into these quadcopters – these drones aren’t meant for amateur aerial photography or amateur FPV racing. Nope – they are meant for drone battles! You read that right! Within the package you will find a total of 10 mountable weapons including pikes, shuriken, grappling hooks, buzz saws and all that good stuff. With a simple snap-on mechanism, you’ll be able to place these weapons onto your drone and the fun can start. Besides these weapons, the package also sports 8 extra props so you can replace them after several demanding battles.
The frames are surprisingly durable and, believe it or not, possess 4 specialized attacking moves. Heads up though – most of the time it will be difficult to announce the battle winner since both of these drones usually fall down at the slightest contact. But, this does not mean they’re not fun! Come to think of it, I cannot remember when was the last time I had so much fun with drones that cost less than an extra battery for my main driver. Crazy!

2. Drocon U818Plus
This is another upgraded version of UDI’s insanely popular U818 model. This time around, the folks over at Drocon made a few incremental improvements in terms of imaging quality. Besides that, you’ll also notice a bulkier frame with built-in (extremely thick) prop guards that will ensure the safety of your drone even after high speed crashes. That’s about it as far as the introduction is concerned – now let’s take a closer look at it and see what’s it all about!
Drocon U818Plus sports an integrated camera that’s mounted on an anti-vibration dampening rubber. Additionally, it also sports optical anti shake technology which does somewhat of a good job in terms of eliminating jello and shakiness from your aerial footage. However, the camera can only record in 720p which is kind of too low for today’s standards. But, considering the low price of this model, it’s still a worth a try for people wanting to take on amateur aerial photography.
In terms of actual performance Drocon U818Plus works amazingly well. That’s partially because of its proprietary 2S 1000mAh LiPo battery which can keep it in the air for up to 15 minutes. Furthermore, the operating range is solid too, especially considering this is a toy-grade drone. You’ll be getting around 50 to 60 meters of range as well as WiFI FPV which can be used via FlyingSee app which is downloadable for your smartphone device. All things considered, Drocon did an exceptional job with U818Plus and you should definitely be considering going for it.

1. Altair AA108
Get ready for the best-selling toy-grade drone in September 2017 – Altair AA108! This is a brand-new drone that has just been released but it’s already receiving a ton of praises. Everyone seems to love and, thrutfully, I’m among those people too. Been playing around with it ever since it got released and I have to say that it’s a tiny little miracle! With solid performance and a great set of entry-level features, Altair AA108 has everything it needs to be crowned the best toy-grade drone not just in September but in the entire 2017!
Starting off with the packaging, Altair AA108 packs quite the punch with a set of extra props, an extra battery and tools required for regular drone maintenance. Moving forward, the graphics on its canopy are also a sleek touch as they give out a quality feel to the build. Prop guards are noteworthy too as they’ll save you the trouble of replacing propellers after every consecutive crash. Camera, on the other hand, is purely brilliant for the price tag and can record in 720p.
When it comes to its respective specifications and features, Altair AA108 fares pretty well against other similarly priced drones on the market. It can fly as long as 10 minutes and move up to 100 meters away from its controller. However, the WiFi FPV only works for roughly 30 meters so bear that in mind if you don’t want to lose your drone due to flying out of FPV range. Lastly, Altair AA108 sports altitude hold and 3 speed modes as its main features. In addition to those, there is also custom flight route function which is basically a poor-man’s version of waypoints. It works as it should but don’t expect any advanced settings on it.

Category 2 : Expensive drones
Now that you’ve taken a closer look at 3 awesome toy-grade drones, it is time for some big guns! These next 3 entries provide excellent all-around performance but are travel-friendly… and that’s something many people prefer over big bulky drones which require their dedicated carrying cases. So yeah, September has been in the sign of high performance portable drones. Let’s take a look at the best ones, shall we?!
NameImageCameraRangeFlight timeBest Price3. GeniusIdea Follow4K100 m20 minSee price now 2. DJI Spark1080p2000 m15 minSee price now 1. DJI Mavic Pro4K6000 m26 minSee price now
3. GeniusIdea Follow
Out of these 3 “expensive” drone, GeniusIdea Follow is the newest (and cheapest) one. It just came out and has already started making quite the name for itself on the market. That’s because it sports innovative design and build materials which put it miles ahead of all similarly priced competitors. Plus, it’s travel-friendly too, providing the best combination for this month of college and school travels.
The first thing that needs to be stated about GeniusIdea Follow drone is its amazing build material. We are talking about an extremely durable rubber(ish) materials that can bend, twist and turn without losing their initial shape. This protects not only the frame of GeniusIdea Follow but its propeller s well, which are also made out of that same highly-durable material. So basically, even if this birdie falls from 50 feet up straight onto a concrete pavement, chances are high it will survive as if nothing had happened. Still, don’t test this out and blame us – do it at your own risk.
GeniusIdea Follow’s camera is also a noteworthy aspect of the entire package. You see, this is a fully fledged 4K sensor that’s able to capture magnificent aerial footage. Combine that with a stellar array of features including Follow Me Mode (who would’ve guessed, eh?), circling flight and even gesture recognition, and I’m sure you’ll realize what a bang for your money this drone provides. Last but not least, this drone can stay in the air for up to 20 minutes due to its 2500mAh battery. Flight range, however, shows that this is not a scout drone with only 100 meters of worry-free range. Despite that, I still believe GI Follow provides the best value for money in medium-end market. As a matter of fact, I’d say this birdie provides with high-end performance for a mid-tier price. Amazing!

2. DJI Spark
DJI Spark is the newest drone coming from DJI. Well, that is, if we don’t count those 2 new alterations that go by the names of Phantom 4 Obsidian and Mavic Pro Platinum. But, those 2 are not the topic of this section – DJI Spark is! And what better way to start this off than by stating that this is DJI’s smallest ever drone… which is still better than the majority of high-end scene. Let’s talk more about that!
Before getting into the specifications (since that’s where DJI Spark shines the most), first we will say a few words about its features. You see, DJI Spark integrates full support for DJI GO app which gives a whole bunch of functionality at its disposal. Besides the usual telemetry data, there are also tons of features including PalmControl and PalmLaunch which are bound to amaze you with their fluidness… Especially with the newest update which made them even better than before. In addition to that, it is also noteworthy to mention Spark’s ability to charge straight from a power bank. Yes, it sports a mini USB plug that allows charging on the go. How’s that for portability, eh?
Moving forward to the camera, DJI Spark boasts with a crystal clear 2-axis gimbal/camera combination that can record in fluent 1080p resolution. Along with hardware image stabilization and several adjustable photography modes, there’s no doubt this thing can provide professional quality footage. Lastly, specifications! If you opt for the DJI Spark Fly More Combo, in addition to a whole fleet of accessories you will also get the dedicated controller which lets it fly for supposedly 2000 meters. Airtime is no slack either with roughly 15 minutes of flying per single charge.
Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
1. DJI Mavic Pro
Finally, we have reached the most expensive and best-selling drone of September 2017. As a matter of fact, DJI Mavic Pro has been at the first place basically ever since it was released, taking the throne off of DJI Phantom 4 that was getting too comfortable at the top spot. Since then, lots of new models have emerged on the scene but DJI Mavic Pro’s sales are not dropping down a pinch. So, with that said, I’ll take you through the basics of what makes this little birdie so popular… and is it worth your money!
First things first, this birdie packs an insane amount of punch for the price… and size! Basically, DJI Mavic Pro incorporates the same performance as DJI Phantom 4 but in a much smaller package. We are talking about 7 kilometers of operating range and up to 27 minutes of flight time. However, if you opt for DJI Mavic Pro Platinum version, you will get additional 3 minutes of airtime due to ESC optimization. Plus, with the addition of brand new propellers, the sound is lowered by 60%. Camera is not to be taken for granted either – DJI Mavic Pro sports an incredibly tiny 3-axis gimbal plus camera combination which records buttery smooth 4K videos. Image stabilization is unparalleled and you can expect professional-grade recordings each and every time.
Stepping away from specifications and camera, it is time to say a few good words about the features that come integrated with DJI Mavic Pro. As usual, this birdie sports full DJI GO app support which gives you a whole plethora of autonomous flight modes, some of which are bound to keep you busy for quite some time, trying to capture that perfect scene. Of course, DJI Mavic Pro is GPS-enabled and has altitude hold, but I suppose these 2 are the most basic features you’d come to expect from the Chinese drone giant DJI.

What is Amazon Prime Day?
You can think of Amazon Prime Day as Black Friday On Steroids for Amazon Prime users. This new shopping event has racked up impressive numbers in 2016 and 2015 and 2017 could lead to something magnificent… mostly for Amazon, of course.
While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both in November, Amazon Prime Day is in the middle of summer. Why is that important? Well, with December (and the whole gifting season) being just around the corner for BF and CM, there’s a huge aura of gifting in the air. Needless to say, a huge portion of those deals was for gifting purposes… On the other hand, Amazon Prime Day is nowhere near any “gifting” occasions, with birthdays being only exceptions. That’s why you are free to use it for personal shopping for goods and/or accessories which will help you in your day-to-day routine.
How does Amazon Prime Day work?
Basically, if last year taught us anything, it’s that there will be 2 types of deals during the entire 30-hour cycle. Additionally, there will also be deals which are available to everyone and not just Prime members, but we aren’t going to focus on those at the moment.
1st type – Prime Day Deals
Prime Day Deals last throughout the entire event. They’re well-stocked and offer one-day and two-day shipping options so you can be sure your purchases will arrive ASAP. They are considered as the basis of Amazon Prime Day since they attract the majority of customers.
2nd type – Lightning Deals
On the other hand, Lightning Deals are these crazy listings that often last for a very short period of time. There’s a fixed number of deals that can be reserved and when that small bar reaches 100%, Lightning deals is finished and you’ll get your item in a day or two. Keep in mind they’ll appear in quick intervals; roughly 5 minutes apart.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2017?
The first Amazon Prime Day was held on July 15, 2015 on their 20th Anniversary. It featured incredible deals and was, even then, compared to Black Friday. Truth be told though, there was a lot of skepticism at the time, fueled by a small fall of Amazon shares at the time. As you can see, Amazon swept the floor with skeptics as its Prime Day continued to grow.
In 2016, Amazon Prime Day was on July 12th, 3 days prior to their 21st anniversary. As I mentioned earlier, $415 million were the projected sales of 2015. 2016, on the other hand, went somewhere between $500 and $600 million. What’s in store for us in 2017? We’ll see in a couple of days!
In 2017, Amazon Prime Day is scheduled for July 11. But, since Amazon Prime Day lasts for 30 hours, that means the sales will swing into July 10 as well. To be more precise, Amazon Prime Day 2017 starts on 10 July 2017 at 6pm BST.
Most important facts about Amazon Prime Day
Amazon Prime Day lasts roughly 30 hours.
First Amazon Prime Day was held on Amazon’s 20th anniversary
Amazon Prime Day was the most important day for Amazon in 2016.
It’s on par with other similar events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Should I Sign Up For Prime?
Well, if you love relaxing with TV series, watching tons of movies and getting the best deals out there… and get them quickly… then yes, you should definitely sign up for Amazon Prime. Not only do you get free one-day/two-day shipping but you also get other perks such as specialized restaurant deliveries, head start on Lightning Deals. Or perhaps you’re a book person? Luckily, Amazon Prime has you covered for that too with Prime Reading which includes eBooks, magazines, comics and audibles. Even gamers can profit from it. Wonder how? It’s simple – with Twitch Prime (free monthly gaming content) and Prime Savings (exclusive preorder discounts for virtually all gaming platforms).
So yeah, Amazon prime is a nice thing to have. If not for the best deals, then surely for everything that was listed above! On the other hand, even if you’re somehow unimpressed with all those awesome traits, you should still at least sign up for free trial to get the best deals during Amazon Prime day tomorrow.

Do you think Amazon Prime Day 2017 will sweep the floor with Black Friday and Cyber Monday? Let us know in the comment section below.

FAA is now refunding USA citizens who registered their drones
If you don’t like FAA drone regulations, you’re probably not the only cookie in the jar. Many people don’t like them because of putting too much stress on regulation our airspace at least when it comes to small unmanned aerial vehicles. One drone enthusiast (who’s also a lawyer) happened to have a serious problem with FAA drone regulations so he decided to sue them. But, what does all this have to do with you guys? Well, it was just a clever introduction to a story that will end up getting some of you an extra 5 bucks…
All of you who paid the $5 fee when registering your drone at FAA’s website are now eligible to get a full refund. Yup, that’s true! This is because that lawsuit didn’t go in favor of the FAA and now they are obliged to correct the issues. That significantly changed the regulations regarding small UAVs. Few months back, you had to register virtually all drones (except toys) even if you were only a casual user. With John Taylor’s lawsuit against FAA resulting in a win, those registrations became obsolete. Now, even though FAA is most likely to make an appeal and reinstall their rules and regulations, the current laws are active and they actually offer $5 refund to people who paid the fees.
How can you get the refund?
If you are eligible for the refund (basically, you’re eligible if you’ve paid the $5 registration fee), simply head on over HERE. You will be greeted with a special FAA form (3 pages long, nothing too drastic) that you will, of course, need to fill out. It contains basic check formulas for compliances on various regulations as well as your personal and bank account info. After you’re done with filling it out, a simple email wouldn’t do the trick. Unfortunately, FAA Civil Aviation Registry apparently works with outdated mail system which requires you to physically mail them the copy of the filled-out form to the below stated address:
FAA Civil Aviation Registry
PO Box 25504
Oklahoma City OK, 73125
Why is FAA issuing these refunds?
Like I stated above, FAA is now offering full refunds ($5) for their fees to people who registered their small UAVs for casual uses. This is because they lost a huge case against a prominent drone enthusiast John Taylor regarding their registration rule. More precisely, FAA’s registration rule was contrary to the Modernization and Reform Act of 2012. This effectively means exactly that FAA has to get rid of registration for casual users and get a full refund to people who paid fees for it. It’s a pretty neat deal, you have to admit!
Does this mean I don’t have to register my drones anymore?
That’s exactly what it means ! The new regulation is now in command that doesn’t oblige anyone to register their small UAVs (under 55 pounds) as long as they are for causal purposes. But, keep in mind that this won’t on for a long period of time. In a couple of months, I’m pretty sure the registration procedure will come back but most likely in a different form. While this new law is active, many of you will be using unregistered drones… but you still have to obey all rules just like you would with a registered one. That means keep your drone within your line of sight, don’t fly into private property without owner’s permission, keep away from airports and so on… Just because your drone is not registered doesn’t mean you won’t get in trouble if you do something out of the above.

5 most popular drones – June 2017
Remember how your dad used to make paper airplanes with you when you were a kid? After making a dozen, he’d help you get to the attic where you threw them into the warm summer air…
Time of paper airplanes is long gone and we have new players in town – drones! Summer is coming and drones are getting a massive boost in sales. It seems as though, after 2016 summer, they are back into play with a well-deserved sales growth. Surely, drones will soon be seen shining their props and polishing their brushed motors, just waiting in line to be picked up.
So if, for any reason, you’d like to reminisce to the old summer days and the smell of paper being molded into airplanes, buying a drone might be the best thing about this summer. It’s not the same thing, I know… but that’s sort of a beauty to it. Whether you’re going to share your summer with your loved ones or your children, drones are able to capture the very essence of your most beautiful moments together. //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "manual"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Other drones to consider :"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "005de3dab0e248edd7df2fa66ab58323"; amzn_assoc_asins = "B01HE18R1Q,B011LPKZS4,B01MRK5BN9,B01HGDJODM"; //]]> That’s why, we have decided to analyzed drone sales charts during the first week of June and are back with interesting insight. Unsurprisingly, high-end DJI models are still breaking the records. With the Spark announcement, DJI currently holds all 3 top spots. The bottom two models, on the other hand, are actually quite surprising. None of them is by Yuneec which shows just how much they’re struggling at the moment.
Well, enough with the small talk! Let’s jump straight to the reason why you’re reading this…

5. Hubsan H501S
At #5 spot, we have Hubsan H501S, a model that has managed to squeeze out Yuneec Q500 out of this list. How did it manage to do so? Well, for starters – it sits on a much better price point and is capable of delivering pretty much the same experience as Yuneec Q500. Luckily, potential buyers were quick to realize that and are rapidly beginning to swarm.
Starting off at the spec sheet, Hubsan H501S seems rather impressive. Flight time hovers around 20-minute mark which is excellent. Even more so considering it runs on a 7.4V 2700mAh LiPo. But, it is not a big drone so that partially explains the flight time. Range is somewhat of a sore spot. Even though it’s not too short, we are talking about roughly 300 meters here, there is definitely room for improvement with future installments. Perhaps an upgraded version of some sort. Currently, short range is number 1 downside for most users so I’m not talking nonsense here.
On the bright side, features section is nothing short of amazing. With GPS, follow me and one key return to home features, Hubsan H501S already has everything it needs (and more). Even going one step further, it sports OSD live data and altitude hold topped off with enjoyable FPV experience. Camera is good as well. It can record full HD videos and take gorgeous aerial photos with little to no jelly effect. For this price, I am sure you cannot get your hands on anything better than this. It provides awfully lot of value for money and deserves to be a hit this summer!

4. Autel Robotics X-Star Premium
For too long, Autel Robotics X-Star Premium was a heavily underrated drone. It had everything a proper high-end drone needs to have, but sales just weren’t good enough. Finally, it has reached better days; finally, customers noticed its real quality; finally, it is standing where it always should have – at the very top.
Since this is a drone who has aerial photography as a primary aspect, it is only fair to start off with the camera. We are talking about a 12MP sensor capable of recording in 4K at 30fps. 3-axis gimbal is present as well, which is not that surprising after all. In terms of FPV, X-Star Premium sits comfortably at 1.2 miles (roughly 2 kilometers). Unfortunately, if you plan on using FPV goggles on it, you’re in for a rough time. To save you a ton of stress, here’s the quickest way to get FPV goggles working on Autel Robotics X-Star Premium – get Nvidia Shield K1 tablet. This is, by far, the easiest option out there.
Features are always an important aspect Luckily, Autel Robotics did not fail to deliver. With GPS/GLONASS support, SecureFly magnetic interference protection and a built-in LCD display on the controller, X-Star Premium looks to be all set. Combine that with several smart modes and battery life of 25 minutes and you’ll begin to understand why it deserves to be at the top.

3. DJI Phantom 4 Pro
As I’ve mentioned in the introductory paragraph, all 3 top spots belong do DJI drones. We are starting off with what was planned to be their best-selling drone – Phantom 4 Pro. This powerful flagship model is the pinnacle of modern-day drone tech… but was still beaten by 2 other models. The reason is not P4 Pro’s technical inferiority rather than needs of potential buyers. Most people don’t need such a powerful, bulky and overly priced model. They’re satisfied with smaller models that don’t cost as much but have exceptional build quality and specifications. And that’s exactly what took DJI Phantom 4 Pro off the number one spot – size/performance ratio.
Despite that, it is still selling amazingly. Even though casual users are starting to steer away from it, DJI Phantom 4 Pro has managed to keep its rank with commercial users. With specifications being 27 minutes and 7 kilometers (battery life and range), it’s clear to see why it’s such a good choice for non-casual side of market. Features are on point too – full support for DJI GO app, easy FPV goggles setup as well as compatibility for thermal cameras are all going in P4 Pro’s favor.
But, let’s not forget about its awesome camera! As some of you might know, it’s the first drone to have a 1-inch 20MP image sensor. Obviously, it can record in 4K at buttery 60FPS with H.264 encoding. Needless to say, video and image quality are the best on the market, not even getting trampled down by third party cameras such as Gopros. All in all, DJI Phantom 4 Pro might have lost the top spot but has managed to keep its flair.

2. DJI Spark
If you missed it, DJI has just recently announced a brand-new drone – the Spark. Needless to say, it was an outright shock for many as most of us expected they’ll announce Mavic Pro 2. Even though Mavic Pro was a champ when it came to size/performance ratio, people thought it was too big for a foldable drone and wanted the 2 to be much smaller. Perhaps DJI took their wishes into account and created Spark as the spiritual successor? Well, whatever it might be, one thing is certain – DJI Spark looks amazing!
It is incredibly small (exact proportions are 143×143×55 mm), roughly the same size as a soda can. Such a small size factor makes it a direct competitor of heavily popular selfie drones such as Yuneec Breeze and Zerotech Dobby; something which DJI planned would be the case with Mavic Pro, but it wasn’t the case. Despite its size, we are still talking about a mighty drone. With a FHD camera, 15 minutes of flight time and range of roughly 2 kilometers (when paired with its dedicated controller), Spark is smashing the ground with competitors.
Features are nothing short of brilliant either. With a wide array of smart flight modes and tracking software, it also posseses 2 brand new features. They’re called PalmControl and PalmLaunch. Both of them, you’ve guessed it, have something to do with your palm. As a matter of fact, both are rather self-explanatory – latter lets you launch from your palm while first one lets you take control solely with your hands. So, with charming new features and solid specs, DJI Spark might become the best drone in summer 2017.

1. DJI Mavic Pro
And the most popular drone in June is, expectedly, DJI Mavic Pro. This amazing drone has broken all records in terms of sales and general popularity. It has surpassed Phantom 4 and even Phantom 4 Pro when it comes to unique purchases which just proves its superiority. But why do people love this drone so much?
Well, it’s mostly because it delivers excellent all-around performance and comes with no strings attached size-wise. It’s foldable, amazingly compact and can be carried with you anywhere you go. It’s the best travelling buddy for sure, even on airplanes. Simply fold it up, put it in its case or together with your laptop in carry-on luggage and you’re good to go.
In terms of performance and main specifications, Mavic Pro is head to head with Phantom 4. With cca 25 minutes of battery life and 7 kilometers of range, it is obviously miles ahead of its direct competition. Camera is on the same level as well. It can record in 4K and sports an incredible sensor that picks up a lot of light for great photos and videos. Feature-wise, Mavic Pro sports several smart flight modes including TapFly and ActiveTrack. Also, there is full DJI GO app support that’ll make your tasks much easier to handle.

But, don’t despair if you haven’t found the perfect drone for you in the list above. There is dozen other lists on DronesGlobe. One of them will surely provide with your dream drone.

Moving forward, it is important to say a word or two about its 1800mAh LiPo battery. While it might not seem that powerful (only 1800mAh whereas most models go above 2 or even 3K), don’t worry since the drone itself is extremely lightweight making up for improved power efficiency. Another thing that improves power efficiency is the MT1806 1800kv brushless motor. But, not only does it ease off things for the battery but it provides with additional durability too. As a matter of fact, MJX Bugs 3 is the only drone in this price range that can brag with a brushless motor.

Is DJI Mavic Pro The Best Drone You Can Buy Right Now?
Ever since its release, DJI Mavic Pro has been getting a lot of praises not only from its satisfied customers but from many critics as well. It comes as no surprise because Mavic Pro incorporates breathtaking performance into an incredibly small package thus allowing its users to carry it around anywhere they go.
But is it really the best drone available on the market? Well, the answer to that question lies in the next couple of paragraphs. Among that, many other will be answered so make sure you stick around until the very end!
Portability
If it wasn’t for portability DJI Mavic Pro would not be as half as popular as it is nowadays. That’s one of its biggest virtue – the fact that folks over at DJI managed to cramp up so many features and powerful specifications into such a small package. Incredible! Its exact size is as follows 11.5 x 7 x 9.5 inches. In other words, when folded, this little fella can be placed into any type of backpack and serves as a great travelling companion. For people who are travelling a lot and really want something to capture their awesome moments, DJI Mavic Pro comes as a clear winner, that’s for sure!
Performance
Performance is always a huge aspect and DJI Mavic Pro exceeded everyone’s expectations once its official specifications had been released. 7 kilometers of range was just the start of what seemed to be the best specifications at that time. Topped off with incredible speed of up to 40mph, it’s quite obvious that it can follow you around even when you’re in a car.
Moving forward, another great aspect is its flight time. Incredible – DJI Mavic Pro exceeds some of the fully-fledged drones out there such as Yuneec Typhoon, Autel Robotics X-Star Premium and even DJI Phantom 4 with amazing 27 minutes of flight time. So, if you’re looking for portability AND performance, DJI Mavic Pro is a no brainer!
Camera
Believe it or not, Mavic Pro comes with a 4K ready camera. Needless to say, it can record amazing aerial footage. Combined with smart flight modes and autonomous features allowed by GPS+GLONASS navigation system, there is no doubt that this little guy can record all of your thrilling moments.
Best of all, Mavic Pro’s camera is mounted on its own dedicated digital stabilizer which ensures optimal image smoothness no matter the weather conditions. Despite all of that, it’s still not the best camera on the market – DJI Phantom 4 Pro camera beats it by a mile with its 1-inch sensor. As a matter of fact, the only thing that GoPro Karma exceeded DJI Mavic Pro is the camera. That’s not surprising since Karma comes with GoPro Hero 5…
Is it the best foldable drone?
The answer to this question cannot be clearer – YES! Yes it is! DJI Mavic Pro is by far the best foldable drone currently available on the market. I will go out on a limb here and say that it doesn’t even have a single worthy competitor other than the brand new GoPro Karma.
However, since Karma is a bit bulkier, slower, has less operating range and is generally not that good when it comes to price/performance ratio… I believe the situation is more than clear! DJI Mavic Pro is and will probably remain the best foldable drones for years to come… or at least until DJI makes an announcement about DJ! Mavic 2!
Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
Conclusion
So, with everything taken into consideration, it’s quite clear that DJI Mavic Pro is a force to be reckoned with. Such a compact size, brilliant technology implementations and best of all – incomparable performance, all make up for one of the best drones ever made.
Still, whether or not DJI Mavic Pro is the best drone available right now is a rather subjective matter. If it suits your needs and you’re not worried about it costing too much then go for it. There is no doubt you will be amazed by the performance. On the other hand, if you’re not a demanding person and you agree to compromise in order to cut expenses, then perhaps Mavic Pro isn’t the best choice…

5 Most Popular Drones in April 2017
After thoroughly analyzing the first half of this month, we have come up with a list of the best-selling drones in April 2017. The list features 5 most popular models. Not surprisingly, it’s filled with DJI’s flagships as well as the GoPro newcomer.
Below you can find all of them listed out with their basic characteristics explained in an easy to read manner. So, without much further adue, let’s take a glance at the best-selling drones of April 2017!
5. MJX Bugs 3
We are starting off with Bugs 3 by MJX. It’s an entry level drone that features incredibly power underneath the hood as well as an awesome design that will look cool to teenagers and adults alike. It has been coming up in the market for quite awhile and has exploded in the recent couple of months.
With sales growing rapidly, especially in the first half of April, MJX Bugs 3 seems like it won’t stop. But what’s so good about it? Well for starters, it runs on a brushless MT1806 1800KV motor. It ensures low friction and heat production as well as great power efficiency. The only downside is the fact that it does not come with a camera. That might drive away some people but luckily, MJX Bugs 3 provides a mounting setup for GoPro’s and other action cameras so using it as an aerial platform is still viable.
With about 18 minutes of flight time due to its 1800mAH LiPo battery, it is quite clear that MJX Bugs 3 offers quite the bang for your bucks. Combine that with up to 500 meters of operating range and you got yourself a winner! //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Buying options : "; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "MJX Bugs 3"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "d80d1f6df94fd16cec0e51777901095a"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; //]]> Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
4. DJI Phantom 4
Even though the Pro version of DJI Phantom 4 has been released and is collecting nothing but praises from customers and critics, the standard version is still more popular. Why is that so? Well, one of the biggest reasons must be the more affordable price tag, believe it or not. I won’t get into that discussion though, now is not the time or the place for that. Instead, I’ll just guide you through some of the key aspects of DJI Phantom 4.
Starting off with the features, Phantom 4 incorporates everything you’ll ever need from a drone. It includes GPS, smart flight modes, auto takeoff, auto return to home, steady hover, DJI director (video editor) and plenty more. Of course, it comes with a class A camera that records 4K at 30fps and is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal stabilization system.
Stepping away from the features, DJI Phantom 4 proves to excel at sheer performance as well. The smart battery has approximately 28 minutes of runtime which is at the very top of the food chain. Likewise, with up to 5 kilometers of unobstructed area to fly in, DJI Phantom 4 ends up at the 4th spot on this list. //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Buying options : "; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "DJI Phantom 4"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "d80d1f6df94fd16cec0e51777901095a"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; //]]> Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
3. DJI Phantom 3 Pro
Even more popular than its newer brother Phantom 4, DJI Phantom 3 Pro comes at us from the 3rd spot on the list. This brilliant model features a ton of features as everyone would expect from a premium drone. With an insanely stable 4K aerial footage provided by the 4K UHD camera mounted on a 3-axis stabilizer, DJI Phantom 3 Pro packs quite the punch regarding aerial photography.
Additionally, it also excels at being an FPV wonder with DJI Lightbridge digital streaming. What this allows is live HD stream as well as recording on the microSD card (included in the package). With a plethora of built-in features and functions, DJI Phantom 3 Pro puts most brand-new models to the test… and ends up victorious. Lastly, the Pro version comes with several advantages in terms of specifications. The range has been improved to massive 5 kilometers (same as Phantom 4). Additionally, the battery can run for about 23 minutes which is actually lower than the standard version. This is due to a better camera and more features that use up battery juice quicker. //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Buying options : "; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "DJI Phantom 3 Pro"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "d80d1f6df94fd16cec0e51777901095a"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; //]]> Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
2. GoPro Karma
GoPro’s entrance to the drone market has been nothing short of a disaster… After having major issues when they’ve first released Karma, they had to correct the mess they’ve made and rerelease it. Luckily, things seem much better now and it’s not surprising to see it at the very top of best-sellers this month.
Even though its main competitor is still miles ahead in terms of overall quality and popularity, GoPro Karma still looks solid and stands good on the market. Come to think of it, it’s not that surprising actually. With the Hero5 Black, a dedicated stabilization system and a foldable design, many of you will at least consider purchasing it.
If not for that, then surely for Karma Grip and/or case which move the subject off of drones and onto handheld and body-mounted footage. But, with DJI Mavic Pro as the main competitor (and we all know just how popular it is), I still don’t see GoPro Karma as a winner. It’s a good drone, that’s for sure. But, when compared to DJI Mavic Pro, it simply lacks the awe factor! //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Buying options : "; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "GoPro Karma"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "d80d1f6df94fd16cec0e51777901095a"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; //]]> Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
1. DJI Mavic Pro
DJI Mavic Pro has been a major success ever since the release day so it is nothing surprising to see it ranking first in this month’s selling charts. This amazing miniature drone has already captured the hearts of many and from the looks of it, it is not planning on stopping any time soon.
It’s basically a shrunk down version of DJI Phantom 4 Pro with all features and functions and just a smaller package. This is what drove so many people – it is extremely mobile and very easy to carry around with you no matter where you go. Plus, it is, by far, the best foldable drone out there.
With up to 7 kilometers of range, 27 minutes of flight time and amazing top speed of roughly 40mph, it is quite obvious that DJI Mavic Pro is not a joke! So, if you’re travelling all the time and you’d like a travel companion that will allow your inner photographer come to life, wait no more and go for the world’s smallest and smartest drone – DJI Mavic Pro! //<![CDATA[ amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "false"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "dglobe_newsletter-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "search"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Buying options : "; amzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = "DJI Mavic Pro"; amzn_assoc_default_category = "All"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "d80d1f6df94fd16cec0e51777901095a"; amzn_assoc_rows = "1"; //]]> Show me the best price for : Ashburn, United States
