"I"m sorry." Starscream confessed. To everything. It took an hour, but no one even tried to stop him. It was the most shocking act of bravery I had ever seen.

it feels like a semi-common fandom trope in drift content to have him be like, reluctant to talk about his past etc, not want people to know, and I can see where the urge comes from bc it feels like that'd be the stereotypical way to take the character but like. it's definitely not the case? drift is very upfront about it, completely unprompted, in the Shadowplay arc, to a large audience:

i think drift having a ton of stuff he's deeply ashamed of and trying to find ways to play down and seem non-threatening about re: his persona on the LL and his past as a con specifically is actually way more interesting when contrasted with him absolutely being upfront discussing this stuff. drift knows exactly which bits of his past are worth being ashamed of, and it's not going through that real rough patch in the dead end, is it.
