Today was the first lesson in the new semester and unfortunately I was abstention because of the flu so I asked my friend what we did during the lesson and we started new unit about improvisation and plot. We revised different information about literature and together in general and we found the different TV series and analyzed them in terms of theme and TEAM analysis.

Today was the last lesson of the semester and we did a few excercises to improve our creativity and relax after the last few harsh weeks at school.
We started out by placing tables in roughly a circle and everyone picked a color of crayon and got their own piece of paper. The rules were that we could draw whatever we want but when one person says stop, everyone stops drawing and passes their paper to the person on their left. It was a very fun and encouraging game as we got to create a lots of images together through finishing other people’s ideas and creating new themes. After that we started making something similar to victorian secret love letters. The folding process was quite complicated but i managed to complete it. Inside we could decorate it however we wanted and put something important there and I decided to outvote most important dates.
Overall, I this lesson was one of my favorites and I loved the idea of exchanging paintings. A song that reminded me of todays lesson is „Save Yourself, I’ll Hold Them Back” by My Chemical Romance because it reminds me of the summer the same way this lesson did.

On todays lesson we watched a movie made from theatrical play which was Hamlet directed by Jan Klata from 2004. This week was particularly harsh at school especially due to multiple assessments happening so our theatre class was more chill.
When we watched the film we would stop in some moments to analyze why was a certain tactic implemented and what effect it han on the viewer or what does different object symbolize, specifically in modern day terms and Polish history. Some of the most important moments were at the beginning of the movie when the characters are presented, then when Hamlet meets ghost of his father, which in this version is a historic polish cavalry on a white horse which symbolized his power and how good of a king he was. Further symbolism included wine tasting which suggested that no real issues were discussed in the meeting and the stains from the wine signalized impurity of the characters and blood on their hands.
Overall, I really enjoyed this lesson and I liked the film and the way different things symbolized important concepts for the story. I also appreciate that we got to have a more chill and relaxing lesson in this crazy week. A song for this weeks lesson is „Golden” by Fall Out Boy because I feel like it matches the film and the feelings of Hamlet perfectly.

Today was our first lesson in the new year and we talked about our best summative that is due next week.
Our task is to analyze a drama, I picked Dziady część II by Adam Mickiewicz, using TEAM (Tension, Emotion, Atmosphere, Meaning) and to show all the protagonists and antagonists of the stories and how are they connected. To better understand what our task is we analyzed the movie Shrek and Hamlet by William Shakespeare.
When every one was sure about what to do and everyone picked their drama to analyze we decided to play mafia for the remaining time of the lesson. We played total of two rounds and I was picked to be the mafie in the second one. Unfortunately (or fortunately in the first round) both times mafia was defeated.
Overall, I really enjoyed this lesson and I’m happy that we have so much time to finish our summative for this unit. The song that reminds me of this lesson is You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison by My Chemical Romance because it reminds me of playing mafia.

On today’s lesson we began a new unit and after we said hello to each other we started talking about literature and drama.
We were questioned on types of drama and its characteristics as well as on what is and what is not literature. After we discovered answers to those questions we talked about examples of drama and analyzed them a bit.
Overall, I found this lesson interesting although sometimes the excessive questions made me irritated because the second I thought we found answer there turned out to be exceptions. The song that reminds me of this lesson is Disenchanted by My chemical romance, because i feel like it’s also about finding answers to many questions

On today’s lesson we continued working on our summative and actually achieved a successful outcome.
We started out by greeting each other and immediately focused on the task. The general idea was that Janice, Damian and Cady were in the middle of cafeteria and the first two introduced Cady to all of the groups/cliques in the school, helping her pick her favourite one. Most of the people from the group represented those cliques slowly revolving around the three main characters.
Firstly we started working on the main three characters, as they were the only ones that spoke in this scene. We also worked on how to portray them walking through cafeteria without changing position.
Then we focused on each one of the groups and how their show their clique. There were Girls that don’t eat, girls that eat their feelings, Dance team, debate team and the mathletes. Then we worked on coordination as when the three main characters called out the name of the group it had to be directly in front of them.
We finished of with performing the scene successfully and overall I really enjoyed the process of creating this scene although it took a lot of time and effort. A song that reminded me of this lesson is definitely Northen Downpour by Panic! at the Disco because I think all of the instruments there are also perfectly coordinated with the vocals

On today’s lesson we started out by saying hello to each other as usual and then we started working on our first summative.
Our first idea was to recreate the scene from Mean Girls and we picked the cafeteria scene. After some preparations we presented our results to our teacher and we started working on basically everything.
Our first task to improve our on stage communication, we were divided into smaller groups and had to work on a small scene that represented a theme from mean girls (me and my group got loyalty) at first we could use words, but than the difficulty was raised as we weren’t allowed to speak and had to really focus on creating the emotions around us rather than showing them by our body language etc.
We also did like a „table game” where at the beginning all people from one group had to touch a table and at a signal we could disconnect. To connect again all of the disconnected people had to touch the table again at the exact same moment, without using words. Later other difficulties where added for example we had to show something when being disconnected from the table.
Overall, I really enjoyed this lesson and I think that I learned quite a lot about creating emotions rather than simply showing them. A song that remininded me of this lesson is definitely Interlude by My Chemical Romance cause in this song the music and guitars set the atmosphere even before the lyrics

On todays lesson we continued working on our musical. After we said hello to everyone we started working on dividing roles for organizing the whole musical and after some discussion i made it to the production grup in which i am responsible for finding the right place for us to perform the musical etc.
After that we discovered that due to some people being absent on previous lesson there are many uncertainties around the roles so we had to make small changes and discuss whether everyone was fine with who they’ll play.
Finally, we read the 5 first scenes of the script again with new roles to make sure everyone knows who they are wand what they are doing
I liked this lesson despite it was a bit chaotic as sometimes no one would listen to others when trying to discuss something. The song that gave me the same vibe as this lesson is Skylines and Turnstiles by My Chemical Romance and I have no idea why, it’s just stuck in my head

On today’s lesson we continued working on our musical. We started out as usual by greeting each other while sitting in a circle. In our first activity everyone was checked on how well they can understand and copy rhythm and same thing with singing and notes. After that we were divided into two groups based on our voice - I was together with the boys in the lower voice group - and we were given easy song to sing and this was done to check our general skills. During this lesson we also tried singing a few songs from the musical to get used to them.
Another thing that we did was dividing the roles between people and I’m really happy cause I got my desired role. After that was done we started reading the script to make any changes and adjustments needed and check if everyone „matches” their role.
Overall, I really liked this lesson and is it because i got the role i wanted despite the advice that we shouldn’t emotionally connect to our roles? 100% yes. But i also enjoyed going through the script together. The song that reminded me of this lesson is A cautionary tale from Mean Girls cause it’s stuck in my head since i heard it during the lesson

On todays lesson we started out as usual, with sitting in a circle and greeting our neighbors, to properly warm up and start our day. Today we discussed a very important topic which is our musical, as two week ago we got an option to perform a musical instead of the „standard” theatre course, and we had to choose which musical it will be. After discussing some options we picked „Mean Girls”.
After the break we got printed out copies of script, we started reading it together, line by line. When we read about 4 pages we focused on 5 lines and said it out loud in different ways, with challenges - like being divided into groups, changing parts we should say - being gradually added. Our „final” challange was to walk in chaos and on signal say the proper line, while still being divided, so one half of the group stopped and said the line, while the other stayed silent. On the next signal the other half said the next line of text etc.
Overall, i really enjoyed this lesson and i’m happy that we decided that the musical will be „Mean Girls” because its one of my favorites. The task and the challenges helped me to visualize how acting looks like and how the preparation of the musical is going to look like.
A song that reminds me of that lesson is „The End.” by My Chemical Romance, because it’s an opening - a theatrical opening - to The Black Parade album, just like our lesson was opening to the musical.

On todays lesson we focused on improving our concentration and ATL skill of non verbal communication.
We started of as usual, by sitting in a circle and greeting our neighbors, than every one changed their seats and we repeated this process until we felt like we’re welcomed and ready to work together. We played 2 games that helped us to build our non verbal communication skills
In the first game we stood in a circle and thought of a „family” of words, our group picked clothes, and then the first person said name of piece of clothing and who they want to give it to, the second person did the same and so on until it formed a loop. Next, we increased difficulty by not saying the name of the person we „give” the item to and replacing this with maintaining quick eye contact with them and saying just the clothing item. Later we increased the difficulty again by adding another loop but with names of the districts instead and repeating both of the loops at the same time. In the final step of this exercise we were walking in chaos, repeating the two loops and handing a comb each other which created the third loop.
The second game called „ho no” and we started by standing in a circle and when one person called another „ho no” the person called had to walko towards the first person to thanks their place. The task of the person who was calling was to without use of words draw someone’s attention to be saved by calling them „ho no”. After everyone understood the rules we tried playing faster and faster, with additional difficulty - now we could just ask for help by looking at a person instead of making hand gestures:
Overall, i really enjoyed this lesson and i feel like my nonverbal communication skills are a lot better after this. My favorite part of the lesson was the „ho no” game cause when we were playing it at high speed it really gave me a lots of adrenaline and i liked that. This lesson reminds me of „The Foundations of Decay” by My Chemical Romance, because i feel like this song is a perfect example how the way we say words and express feeling changes how people perceive this, thanks to its musical diversity which i interpret as a form of nonverbal communication

On today’s lesson we started out with sitting in a circle and saying „hi” to people sitting next to us, to properly start the lesson (and day). Our first activity was sharing 3 emotions that we felt at the time, also share a story why, for example we feel tired. When one person finished, they invited next person to share and contribute to the discussion.
Then, we played a game called „associations” in which one person is standing in the middle and two people give them completely unrelated words (like metro and tree) than the group has to think of associations. When at least two people signalize that they are ready to share by raising their hands, the person in the middle picks 2 of them and they say their associations at the same time. The goal of the game is for the two people to say the same thing.
After the break we went outside, and our task was to count to 20 without communicating with other and walking in chaos by constantly changing direction and choosing different paths. After we (almost) nailed it we sat in a circle and we’re passing around papers with names of everyone from the group, and we had to write one honest and kind thing.
I really enjoyed that lesson, my favourite part was the chaotic counting to 20. Overall this lesson gave me the same vibe as „Hang Em’ High” by My Chemical Romance, probably because the song is just as chaotic as our counting and as powerful as hearing kind words about yourself
