I know everyone's obsessed with the cactus ring fight but I'm honestly more ill about the moment right before it. Scar kneeling in the water with Grian standing over him. Scar giving Grian permission to kill him. And Grian can't. He can't do it if Scar's not fighting back. It's only when he does that he actually kills him.
Grian couldn't execute him. Even if it would've been kinder.
