how are you, ethan?

"I don't know." It was dark in his room, spare for a small light from a music box he found in the woods.

Hey, Ethan! You plan on doing anything today? *wink wonk*

Ethan bites the inside of his cheek. "..No."

He throws a blue hoodie and black basketball shorts on, an outfit that was WAY too hot to wear in the summer. He hesitantly leaves his house and makes his way to Forest of Valor.

Kristoff, Anna, do you remember anything from when Ethan and Lee were kids? They don't seem to remember anything at all.

"Yeah, they don't remember...which is kinda a shame. We did lots of stuff. Me, Anna, Elsa and Olaf used to take the two on a picnic." Kristoff smiles. "I miss that..."

"Ooh, me and Elsa used to sing an old lullaby our mother sang to us when we were kids!" Anna says excitedly before pausing. "Its a bummer they don't remember it..."

Ooh, Lee, do you have anyone you want to help you plan your surprise?

"I haven't told anyone about it. I'm good with doing it by myself. I do most things by myself voluntarily." Lee looks down. "I do kinda wanna see if Scar or Goofy will help...and maybe Mirabel...and Kristoff-"

Uhhh..... there seems to be some tension between Lee and Ethan. Anyone notice that?

"...no? Did I do something wrong??" Lee looks upset. "I mean, he has been acting off..."

"Don't listen to these things." Scar nudges him. "Ethan is just being moody."

Lee, Ethan said something about his birthday being tomorrow. Anything you plan on doing for it?

"I am planning something, but...I dunno if I should do it. He hasn't celebrated it in a while, from what he's told me..."

Ethan? You doing ok?

"I.." He looks away from the sky and down at the ground. "I'm not sure. It's... Shoot, it's my birthday tomorrow. I'm not sure how old I'm gonna be. I don't want it to be. I'm.. but, yeah. Whatever. I'm.. I'm okay."

Ethan blinks back a few tears. "Sorry."

QUESTIONS FOR LEE AND SCAR

Do you ever like, vent about things to each other? Also what's your guys' favorite things to do together? Do you guys have nicknames for each other?

"Lee likes talking to me, and he listens to me when I go on about how my brother screwed me over. Sometimes, he gets loud and annoys me, so I roar and scare him to make him quiet. It's real funny."

"Its not funny, I've almost had a heart attack three times this week." He pauses. "...I try not to veny to anyone, especially Scar here. I deal witj my problems by working." Lee says, his voice a bit quiet. "...I don't know if we have any nicknames..." He looks down, zoning out. "...it kinda feels fuzzy to me." He mumbled.

"We do have nicknames." Scar says absentmindedly, "You just call me a big kitty. I used to call you a little lion cub."

Question for EVERYONE in the valley. Who's your favorite between Lee and Ethan? (Don't worry they won't know *wink wink*)

Mirabel and Scar make eye contact for a brief moment. "Lee."

"You're sure Lee and Ethan won't know?" Kristoff asks. Ursula rolls her eyes. "Just answer the question, doll." She mumbles.

"I guess it'd have to be Ethan...? Like I said before, me and Lee don't talk all that much. Ethan and I are also very good friends, so...yeah." Kristoff rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.

Ursula smirks. "Well then! If we're picking favorites now, I guess I have to go with Ethan. He's... Well, he's just a helpmate to me, nothing more. However, he does get the job done fast. Also, Lee is friends with that goody-two-shoes white-bearded windbag wizard Merlin, so that's also a contributing factor."

"I, Merlin, do NOT choose favorites." Merlin grumbled, giving Ursula 'a look.'

"Well, gawrsh- both Lee and Ethan are swell! But Lee talks to me more often, and I feel awful about choosing favorites.." Goofy kicked a pebble. "So I guess my favorite is Lee!"

"Hm. Ethan is more... easily manipulated and naive, he's a good little listener." Gothel glanced down at her nails, "he was raised by wonderful parents if he's so obedient."

Alright, I won't make Scar talk if he doesn't want to. Ursula, what do I need to do?

"Oho! My, my, aren't we determined! Wise choice, by the way. Scar is a temperamental kitty."

"I am NOT a cat, you preposterous sea witch!" Scar growled.

"Alright, Angelfish, all you have to do is sign this, and help me whenever I request it. Consider this...a discount of sorts. I could ask for a lot more, you know." Ursula pulls out a piece of paper, the writing on it illuminating slightly.

"Have we got a deal?"

Scar, Ursula, how did you survive the endings of your films?

"Ah, you want to know how we survived, Angelfish?" Ursula smiles as she leans against her cauldron. "I'll tell you, dear. But like all secrets, it'll cost you..."

"Hm, I don't think that's any of your business. I'd rather not talk about my film, " He said with a snippy tone.

Why don't you celebrate your birthday anymore?

"That's none of your business."

Scar, you seem to know a lot about Lee. Are you two close? Do you ever check in with him to make sure he's okay?

"It depends on the day," Scar nods once and tilts his head. "But I do check in with him. When he was a little cub, he thought he was a lion like myself... So, since he was a child, I taught him how to do his, as he called it, 'big boy roar.' He seems to be the most comfortable around me. Which, I don't understand why."

What are your favorite things about Lee and Ethan? What don't you like about them?

"I think they're great!" Mirabel grinned, crouching down to pick some yellow flowers. "It does bother me a bit that they don't take healthy breaks. Sometimes, they have these nervous twitches that remind me of Louisa. They're doing too much at once."

"They're slightly annoying." Scar said bluntly, stretching. "Ethan doesn't come around as much as Lee. I think he's scared of me."

Scar smiles, "Lee acts like a little lion cub, just like how he did when he was a child... it's a shame he doesn't remember."

"They're nice." Kristoff picks up some wood for his stall. "Lee doesn't talk to me as much as Ethan does, but when he does talk to me, he's always helpful. Ethan is great. Me and him are really good friends. We go on picnics a lot."

Ursula is examining ingredients for a potion. "Hm...hm? Ah, those two...well, I've certainly got big plans for them. I can't say much. There's not much to say, after all. But...they are very helpful when aiding me. Especially Ethan. I believe Lee is scared of me, but I don't mind one bit." She laughs a bit before throwing something into her cauldron dramatically, grinning as it flashes a deep violet color.

Hey, Lee! Has Ethan been acting odd lately? I think he picked up a journal page earlier and he seemed...really sad when he read it. Isn't Ethan usually a happy-go-lucky kind of guy? Maybe he's hiding something?

"...now that you mention it, yeah. He has been acting a bit strange..." Lee pauses. "Wait...he picked up a journal page?" He seems alarmed, a bit intrigued, and anxious all at once.

"Ethan is pretty happy most of the time, except when he has his days. But everyone has those days. The way Ethan's been acting seems a bit more off than usual." He spoke, picking at his fingers nervously. "I think I'll talk with him."

"...I don't wanna lose him."

Ethan! What's your favorite way to celebrate your birthday?

"I don't celebrate my birthday." He says coldly, looking up at the sky from the rooftop. "I haven't since I was twelve."
