tenho essa inquietação que me mostra que preciso escrever, que tenho algo que precisa se libertar, é bom, embora me cause angústia. angústia porque não me sinto bem pra conseguir escrever exatamente o que preciso escrever (não o “estar bem” físico ou psicológico, mas o “estar bem” que possibilita que as palavras fluam de dentro de mim para o bloco digital em que escrevo, o estar bem que conecta meus pensamentos - sempre à mil por segundo - e os concilia em algo coerente pra mim. o que importa é ser coerente pra mim. fazer sentido pra mim é o que, frequentemente, busco), ou seja, não vou ler o texto que escrevi como preciso ler, não vou sentir o alívio que deveria vir como consequência e sentir o peso diminuir em cima da minha cabeça. mas é bom porque me mostra que as palavras ainda estão comigo, embora vez ou outra eu me questione - onde estão elas que nunca me deixavam?, mas a inquietação significa que eu ainda sou capaz de dominar elas, mesmo que eu não me sinta bem para domina-las, mesmo que eu não sinta mais o domínio delas sobre mim. ainda é bom porque, embora eu as não tenha conectado com tanta frequência ou graciosidade como antes, elas ainda me conectam à mim mesma, ao mundo. as palavras - que as considero como um sentimento, um poder, meu pertencimento - que não vazam mais pelos meus poros, ainda juntam meus pedaços e fazem de mim inteira.

this dress costs more than my life: a fancy gala, dancing in a room of wealthy people, none who you know, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, of both you have too much, wanting to leave and go to an after party and let loose

italian summers with your best friends: riding bikes around town, beaches and museums, freedom of being a wild teen, golden sunlight, dancing at a party under the stars, meeting someone who know you won’t ever forget

new york: busy streets full of honking cars, being a boss in leather, up till dawn dancing in front of your bedroom mirror, messy eyeliner after a full day, wild parties on the weekend

changing leaves: you’re driving through the mountains looking at the changing leaves, you stop at antique stores and buy too much vinyl, wearing a cozy sweater and docs on your feet, the world seems like peace

1950: songs you would play off a jukebox, milkshakes and burgers, swinging ponytails

honeysuckle at midnight: moonlight over a secret garden, persephone eating pomegranate seeds, poppy flowers on the bank of the lethe, and magic woven into the ivy vines and trees

good grief: whatever your grieving, a loved one, who you used to be, the last episode of your favorite show, these songs will hold you as you cry

si, amore mio?: the italian countryside, forgotten love notes, the sound of a typewriter, the taste of honey on your tongue, and of course the peaches

stressed bisexual: for when you’re all bi yourself

what’s your damage?: no real concept here just a compilation of songs I thought had the similar vibe of fun, confused, and kind of over it. best listened to in a denny’s- the realm of chaos and revelry.

sapphics under the moon: for all my sapphics yearning to run free in the woods with artemis under the moonlight, tender and hedonistic in the best way.

parisian heist: femme fatale meets academia and the desire to give art back to the people with a righteous rage.

divine love: gothic cathedrals echoing with the voices of dead saints and your love for the person you swear was church because no one else ever made yoh feel so holy.

sad speakeasy hours: cue memories of your past lover and life's tragedies as you slam another bill down and take the entire bottle as you stumble home to the sound of soft jazz.

highway lights, endless nights: you live in a small town and don't quite know what you're doing with your life, but some nights you're infinite as you cruise down the highway or travel the world from your bedroom.

très cool: french songs for all the baguettes out there,,

give up on your dreams and die: for the go-getters having trouble getting their go. a shit ton of nostalgic songs that make me feel sad and existential.

Give me songs to fight the government to. Give me songs to scream as you beg for the rights that should have been given to you a long, long time ago. Give me songs to punch nazis to that make you bop your head and tighten your fist. I want fighting songs.
