It was just like the previous mornings, Hanamiya dragged his body away from the mattress before looking back at his bed. Appreciating the sight of the crumpled sheets, her messy hair, her naked body sprawled over his bed. The sight of her lying there was so perfect, yet in his mind he knew this was just an illusion. She was not his. This was supposed to be a one night stand with no feelings attached. But he couldn't control his emotions. How could he? She was the only girl he ever loved.
Dismissing his thoughts he went to the bathroom and took a hot shower. He was thinking of her, of them. Did she still love him the way he loved her? This question has always bothered Hanamiya. It has been 3 months since they had a one night stand, but somehow she kept coming back for more. Was she craving him the way he craved her? Does her heart beat faster every time he traced her skin with his lips? Or is he simply there to satisfy her?
'Hey' she groaned with her half lidded eyes, walking in with her hair still messy. He was mesmerized by this scene in front of him, "A piece of art" he thought. The long brown curls of her hair complimenting her brown eyes, the oversized shirt indirectly giving him a view of her curves. I could live with this everyday, he thought.
Forgetting about their actual relationship, he went and caged her in his arms from behind, only to be greeted with a struggle. Only then did reality hit him that she did not love him back, this was what he feared. A one night stand with no feelings attached.
I'll make some breakfast.
It's fine, I won't be eating here, I have something to tell you anyways. She dismissed his offer.
In the living room, Hanamiya waited. His heart was beating fast, just like the day when he first met her. He hoped that she was going to take him back, but somewhere in his heart, he knew she was going to break him again.
"Hey" she said once more as she walked out, this time in a simple white dress. Hanamiya still remembered, it was the same white dress she wore two years ago when they shared their first kiss. " I just wanted to say..." She hesitated before taking a deep breathe. "Let's end this. I can't do this anymore"
His eyes widened, his fist clenched as he stood up quickly. "Why?" He nearly yelled. He knew this was going to happen, but he didn't want to believe it.
"I'm meeting someone.." That was her reply before she walked towards the door.
He grabbed her by the elbow, pulling her into his arms. "Don't you love me? Look me in the eye and tell me that you do not feel the same way". He was angry. Hell, he was pissed. He was ready to kill. But somehow he felt vulnerable, scared, that she would walk out the door and leave him like she did when they broke up.
She turned. Her brown orbs looking into his. What was once a warm and welcoming stare has now become a cold and emotionless glare. "You know the rules. You agreed to them when we started this three months ago." She stated blandly. "This is simply something to help us relieve our sexual frustrations. Nothing emotional."
He was angry at her. At himself. How could he have not made a move and take her back. How could she dismiss his feelings so easily. But he knew she was right, this was just a one night stand. His grasp around her loosened , his muscles relaxed, but in his eyes you could see great pain.
"Who... Who is it?" He sighed as if he was at his last breaths.
"..." She paused before lowering her head and opening the door. "...Teppei..." She whispered loud enough for him to hear. "Do you really feel nothing for me..?" Hanamiya asked once more his head facing downwards, knowing that he would be hurt again. "We were over a long time ago... " she said softly. But somewhere in her voice he could hear the same amount of pain he was feeling. Before he could cage her in his arms once more, she left. Leaving him alone in the apartment.
He dropped to his knees, dismissing the pain as his knees came in contact with the cold hard floor. No physical pain could ever damage him more than how she did. He knelt there. Tears flowing down his face. Sobbing like a little child who has lost their favourite stuffed animal. He cried and cried for nights, but she never came back.
The warm embrace that she once gave him was no longer there. The bed that she once slept in was now cold and unwelcoming. He was alone.
He who inflicted pain on to others is now in pain.
This must be Karma… he thought as he closed his eyes and drifted off into dreamland.
