“There’s a Japanese phrase that I like: koi no yokan. It doesn’t mean love at first sight. It’s closer to love at second sight. It’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them. Maybe you don’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will.”

The Resignation Letter
September 18, 2019
Mr. Chief Manager
Broken Hopes & Dreams Inc.
231 Highway Pass,
Safe, Exit, 4567
Dear Chief Manager,
This letter is to inform you that I will be resigning from my position as Assistant Director of Broken Hopes & Dreams Inc. I have worked for his corporation for over six months. The motto of the company is all about bringing dreams to an end and taking hopes along with it. I have long believed that my dream was to be a rich novelist, but after a while, the dream was only about being rich, no matter what it took. Eventually, I found this company, and I thought my prayers were answered. I was wrong.
While I am thankful for providing me with a job for six months, I believe that it is time that I follow my less frivolous dream. It was completely wrong of me to think that being rich would solve all of my problems, and make me happy. At the end, not only did I stay poor, I was also unhappy in your company.
I know that I should apologize, but I am quitting, so I don't care anymore. This corporation is the worst. There are nice individuals in the company, I won't lie. Especially, Corinne and Carly, who did their best to guide me during my time. However, this cannot be said about your Directors who, by the way, act more like Dictators. I was provided with no words of encouragement. In fact, most didn't even bother to acknowledge me. Especially, Mrs. Foolke, that woman didn't even know my name. I suppose that that is the reason why you are called Broken Hopes & Dreams Inc.
Anyway, I am leaving. I recently got a job offer somewhere else, and it's ten times better than here. I am going to chase my dream; I guess I might see you in a future book sign.
Best,
Your Favorite Author
P.S. Remember, when you said that you were reading Love of Dance, I am the author of that book. I'll be publishing the second book this Winter.
