Mental health posting will always be cringe by definition (an example of where cringe as a concept is harmful) because not all the realizations that you're going to have working on yourself are going to be as simple as "I was traumatized by my childhood!" Or "oh no I've been terrible to others and I have to change" and these are the kinds of narratives that the internet enjoys. Black and white, good and bad guys, self flagellation etc
A lot of the progress you will make involves realizing things like, for example, that you've been burning yourself out trying to help others as much as possible and as a result when you assert your boundaries the people around you who aren't used to that receive it as violence. Saying stuff like that is about boundaries, perception, communication, self respect and so on, and the blame isn't easy to lay with one party. That means the internet will cringe at it
Social media's specific madness is reactive and simplistic and it wants to make others reactive, paranoid and rigid-thinking as well, because it turns life into a game with discernible rules to be rewarded with the granting of social capital and punished with its removal.
Getting better is always going to be cringe by the definition of social media because social media doesn't want you to get better

it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? THIS??????? and this happens like every 6-12 months forever

now say it with me: authors/artists dont owe you moral purity. an author/artist job is not to hold you by the hand & tell you exactly what is Good™ & what is Bad™. you should be able to think for yourself

January 2025 was brutal.
I’m working hard, but I still need to raise $200-250 per week to cover my expenses. If you’ve been thinking about getting a commission, now is the best time to support!
How You Can Help
🎨 Commissions are OPEN – SFW & NSFW available. 🛒 Brushes & digital products 50% off – Use code HELPINGHANDS at checkout. 💰 Even small donations help – If you can’t commission, tipping on Ko-fi keeps me afloat.
🔗 Ko-fi (tips & small donations): https://ko-fi.com/shrine 🛍️ Cubebrush (brushes & digital products): https://cubebrush.co/shrineheart 🛍️ Gumroad (brushes & digital products): https://shrineheart.gumroad.com/
Commission Info & Prices
🔗 See my work & full details: https://shrineheart.carrd.co/#comms
Icons – $15 (or $8 each for bulk orders)
PNG Tuber (2 frames default) – $50+ (or $25+)
Pixel Art & Animation – $5-25+ (varies by size/complexity)
Sketches, Inks, Full Color – $50+ (or $25+)
Digital Paintings – $80+ (or $50+) (Paintings take more time, so they are not automatically 50% off.)
Interested? Want to Help?
📩 Contact me: [email protected] 💖 Can’t buy art? Even sharing this post helps immensely!
I really need to make ends meet this month, and commissions help a ton. Even a small Ko-fi tip or reblog makes a big difference!
Thank you so much for any support, whether it’s a commission, a donation, or just spreading the word. It means the world.

hey let's start spreading the reminder now that you cannot safely self-manage an abortion with herbal medicine or essential oils. natural abortifacients function by poisoning you; you wait for your body to realize you're dying and reject the pregnancy in order to conserve resources, and hope that happens before the rest of your organs shut down.
i think there will be an upsurge soon of unscrupulous and/or malicious actors preying on desperate pregnant people; do not help them kill people. don't spread recipes for herbal medicines or ingestible essential oil mixtures that purport to cause a pregnancy termination.

Does Pierre have a backstory?
Pierre doesn't have a very detailed backstory right now, but that might change in the future! So, for now, I'm also gonna tell a little bit about him in general;
Pierre is a red-tailed black shark (which is... not a shark at all lmao).
He's an autistic trans-man with synesthesia, who loves metal music, philosophy, botany and algae.
He's quiet, but can often be heard humming to himself to stim.
Despite of liking loud music, he's sensitive to certain sounds and dislikes loud conversations.
He's tall (around 190cm/6'2") and has a bad posture.
He's working as a hairdresser, despite of his own hair looking like... that... :'D
When he was younger, Pierre used to feel very out of place and different around other merfolk due to his autism and synesthesia (and also for not yet realizing he's trans). Neither he nor anyone else understood why the world seemed so different to him and he was constantly bullied. Fortunately, Pierre has since found friends around him who understand, accept, love and respect him. His coworkers are especially important to him and they're almost like family.
This ask also inspired me to doodle him a bit! ♥ Hope you like these!

All Seeing Axolotl
Remember when I said I wouldn't draw anymore blursed axolotls? I lied.
Part of my blursed axolotl series, because I guess it's a series now...
