TAG 9 PEOPLE YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW BETTER
I did not expect to start this tumblr account with a tag post, but thank you for inviting me, thea (@michyeosseo). :)
ships | three ships
I don't ever really strongly feel about 'ships', so I don't have favourites; but these below just stuck with me for some reason.
01. Qiao Xi Chen x Jian Yi Fan from 我在他乡挺好的 Remembrance of Things Past
When I watched Remembrance of Things Past, I often thought that these two came quite close to my ideal romance: open and honest, committed and realistic. I like how both were each their full person, without the other needing to 'complete' them. Also, the fact that the two actors tried so hard to get this romance right, and put in lots of efforts in their acting was visible on-screen and an added bonus.
02. Feng Zhi Wei x Ning Yi from 天盛长歌 The Rise of Phoenixes
What can I say? [spoiler] If you're looking for a good tragedy, their romance is it for sure. Two soulmates, torn apart by circumstances.
03. Any pairing from 大宋少年志 Young Blood
Young Blood is one of my comfort shows, and the main cast has so much chemistry that you really can just about pair any two with each other and have a solid ship. A bargain!
ships | first ship
Xiao Yan Zi x Yong Qi from 还珠格格 Huan Zhu Ge Ge
I was six years old, I watched the re-run of this show everyday after school, and I was madly obsessed with them: they were fun, and they were cute. If you know, you know!
last | last song
I've recently been listening a lot to Jupiter by Grace Gaustad. One of those random Spotify finds that stuck with me.
last | last movie
Two weeks ago, I watched Before, Now & Then (dir. Kamila Andini, 2022) in a theatre all by myself. It's a portrayal of a woman's process of awakening, of realising and pursuing a life of her own and on her own terms in the wake of the 1940s and 1960's political unrests in Indonesia. Cinematography, sound and acting-wise quite strong.
currently | currently reading
About one third into Diary of a Void by Emi Yagi, a book about a woman who is fed up with 'unofficial', menial tasks at work that she has to endure from her entitled male co-workers and supervisors, so she pretends being pregnant to get out of them.
currently | currently watching
I am about to start episode 8 of Song of Life (dir. Li Mo, 2022), a 'slice-of-life' c-drama about a young woman who starts a job at a funeral parlour. It's not a perfect show, but it shares some really thought-provoking messages.
currently | currently craving
A long walk in the mountains, the sound of ocean waves gently hitting the shore, the smell of fresh flowers, and a cup of strong Indonesian coffee.

(I've barely even set up this account, so no tagging nine people for me. ^^)
