Albert Zilkha, MD, DABR, attended Pierre and Marie Curie University, also known as University of Paris VI, in Paris, France, and received his medical degree in 1962. He then went to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to serve his radiology residency training. Dr. Zilkha’s next stop in his academic journey was at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City, New York, where he became fellowship trained in neuroradiology. He then served on staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan, New York, prior to joining the U.S. Army as a major in 1969, where he served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington, until 1971.  Dr. Zilkha continues to maintain a leading position in the challenging field of radiology through his professional memberships and affiliations with numerous societies, including the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Medical Association, the Long Island Radiological Society, the Nassau County Medical Society, the Suffolk County Medical Society, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Furthermore, Dr. Zilkha is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He believes that his success throughout more than 45 years in practice is attributable to his ability to treat patients kindly, like family.
