Hope Week 2025 Day Three - Grass

"You're leaving and my dreams are going with you" "You'll forget me" "I'll forget you" I had a theory, trying to combine the book and movie lore. It's convoluted and hard to explain now, but I toyed with the idea that Book Bunny was reincarnated as Movie Bunny at some point. I still like the theory! And then that one Tiktok trend happened, and this was all I could think of-- Bunny and North's relationship being pretty much the same in both versions, but with slight differences, almost like something changed... @rotg-hope-week

Hope Week 2025 Day Two - Birds

Other Spirits besides Bunnymund deal with new life. Long, long ago, Feather and her Storks brought this blessing to those who truly desired. It has been quite a few centuries since she and Howl delivered their last human child, but there may be Hope on the horizon that belief in her cherub friends and family will reclaim their belief. (Feather is one of my Original characters for Rise of the Guardians, as is Howl. The Cherubs are an original species/society I came up with. Canon characters will feature again tomorrow :)) @rotg-hope-week

Egg Painting

Bunnymund sat alone in the Warren. He was, predictably, painting eggs. He was so focused on the design he was working on, he was surprised when a frostbitten hand appeared in front of him, carefully plucking the paintbrush from his hand. Turning around, he saw Jack Frost next to him, who was perched on his staff while holding an ice blue egg. Using the stolen paintbrush, Jack began to paint a snowflake onto the egg. Bunnymund’s annoyance quickly turned into confusion. Leaning closer, he watched as Jack painted with a surprisingly steady hand, creating an intricate snowflake design. After a moment, Bunny asked “Where did you learn to paint like that?”

Jack blinked, a little surprised. “Oh, uhh-” he looked at Bunny, smiling, “I’m not just responsible for snow days, I’m also responsible for the change of leaves in Autumn.” Bunny’s eyes widened, “Really?” he asked. Jack nodded, before turning back to the egg he was painting. “I can change the leaves with magic, but sometimes I like to paint them myself.” After adding the final line, Jack holds the egg closer to Bunny so he can see the full snowflake design. After a moment, Bunny looks up at Jack with a smile, “You’re really good at it.” Jack smiled back, “Thank you.”

My personal goal is to try and make fanfic binding as accessible to everyone as possible, so here are some resources on how to make a fanfic hardcover for under $25.

This is a barebones bind for the broke college students and such. Happy to field questions, too!

Here's a proposed budget breakdown:

Loosely organized thoughts:

Fanfic bookbinders often share typesets amongst each other. Never pay for a typeset for a fanfic.

You'll hear a lot about grain direction for your printer paper, but as a newbie on a budget without your own printer, settle for some nice 92 bright paper. If you like the hobby, splurge after but expect to pay at least 2-3x more for short grain paper.

Printing is a pain because some copy shops won't let you print intellectual property smut, and it's very expensive. You are better off bartering instead or looking for a free printer on Buy Nothing.

You know the thick paper wrapping that comes with online orders? It's a good weight for endpapers if you need to scrounge. Paper grocery bags or gift bags (birthday presents) might work, too.

Ask your local library to give you covers from books they are throwing out. Ask for outdated textbooks (those covers are built like tanks) or three-ring binders that are too busted to be binders anymore.

Obtain a used book that was mass produced (so your destruction of it does not impede anyone's access) and maybe even become a little vindictive with it.

If you can afford it, I recommend the Olfa SVR knife (~$10)

If you can afford it, upgrade your ruler to a t-square.

I really hope this resource is helpful! I want to stress how possible this is and encourage people to cherish what they love through art.
