For trainers who are seeking to complete a gym circuit and are just starting out, here's a few tips:
In most regions, you can complete the gyms in any order you want. The amount of badges you have will determine at what skill level a gym leader will battle you at. If you're having trouble with a gym, try seeking out a different gym leader, and battle them first, to hone your skills more.
Don't be afraid to ask other trainers for advice! There's a lot you can learn from your peers. From battle strategies, to helping with training, to exchanging items, it's very often worthwhile to talk to other trainers while out and about. You might even make a few friends and/or rivals!
Make sure to pack adequate supplies, and know how to use them! A tent and sleeping bag are always a good idea, especially out on some of the harsher routes. Like food, water, and air, shelter is a basic need, so don't forget to pack it with you.

in my region, the gym challenge doesn't have a traditional elite 4. whats the difference in vibes between you all and a normal gym leader? :O
Ah~! Well, there’s quite a few differences between a Gym Leader and an Elite Four member.
Gyms and Gym Leaders are supposed to serve as a sort of check point within one’s Pokémon journey. The way gyms are designed are meant to aid a trainer in growing stronger by providing a gym puzzle, as well as the battle itself. When fighting a Gym Leader, trainers are met with a challenge, but are still expected to eventually defeat the Gym Leader in question. The goal of a Gym Leader isn’t to be unbeatable, but rather a step forward toward one’s own goal.
Elite Four members, such as myself, are different. Not every trainer that completes the Gym Circuit will challenge the Elite Four. But those who are looking for an extra challenge, or to become Champion, will battle us. However, the goal of an Elite Four member is to provide an extreme challenge. Only trainers with the skill level of a Champion should get past us, therefore we don’t hold back during battle. Not many trainers are able to beat us because of this, even after several tries.

A big part of getting that far is persistence! Completing the gym challenge can be a long journey, and you need to be determined enough to see it all the way through. Don't forget that it's okay to take a break if you need one, too! Sometimes you need to step back and recharge before you keep going.
I look forward to seeing you at the Indigo Plateau! :)
Does anyone have trainer trips for a first timer? Im planning to become champion!

Something you learn after a decade or so of battling…
There’s value in just doing weird things in battle sometimes. ‘Specially against veterans who’ve seen a lot of battles. Folks get so set in what “good tactics” is that a curveball throws them totally off their game.
So try weird tactics from time to time.

I'd like to remind everyone that the "mega evolution is insanely painful and you're torturing your Pokémon" thing was a single paper by a Galarian scientist living in Alola who had never even seen a keystone in his life.
Mega evolution IS a strenuous process and one that must be trained for. Just like professional battling, or even some normal evolutions. You wouldn't expect some random skinny guy to be able to deadlift his weight; why the hell would you expect a random Pokémon you just caught to be able to mega evolve hassle free, if at all?? Your Pokémon needs to know how to use its new powers. That's also part of why trust is so important to the process! Your Pokémon has to feel safe!
It's not even that HARD to bond with most Pokémon, you know. Some berries and a dream go a long way. I've seen people who most people would consider a fundamentally bad person safely mega evolve their Pokémon; I'm sure you can handle it if you actually try.
But, you know, "BAD SCARY DEATH TIMES" is a lot more interesting to the media, so they latched onto that one single paper. Putting in hard work and dedication doesn't really get clicks.
If anyone is ACTUALLY curious about mega evolution, I'm happy to answer your questions; and if I can't, the professor probably can.

Iris is one of the strongest trainers I've ever had the pleasure of battling. She's fierce, kind, and brave. I always look forward to seeing her at World Tournaments. It seems like she's always smiling. :)
I worry sometimes, about the toll the pressure of being Champion so young must take on her, but she has a support system at home to aid her if needed. Of course, of she were to reach out, I'm always happy to help.

Oh, good! If you ever want to talk about dragon types—or anything else, really—I'm always happy to chat with other people in my community.
Actually, if you don't mind me asking: what's it like taking care of an Archaludon? I don't think I'd ever have the resources for one, but they seem like magnificent pokemon.
(@dragonchamplance)
Hello! I hope it's okay that I reblogged your post. I tend to follow fellow League members, as well as fellow dragon-type trainers, and I didn't mean to scare(?) you. I figured this would be better said in an ask than back and forth in tags. :)
No it was like a positive "WOAH" - Not negative in tha slightest!! You're iconic among dragon-type specialists so seein' ya reblog my post got me HELLA excited
Sorry if it came across that way! I just got surprised/positive

They're a really sweet kid! Extremely empathetic, from what I can tell. I don't see them around much, seeing as I think they spend most of their time down by Viridian, but I've enjoyed their company every time we've met.

She's like a sister to me. We've had our fair share of rough patches in our relationship, but if it came down to it, I'd do almost anything for her. I love her to death. If she steals my thin mints again I'm disowning her.

I don't hold quite the same contempt for him as Giovanni, but the dedication he had for that man... I don't know. I don't understand any of the Rocket "executives," or whatever they were called. I know many in Team Rocket were appealed to while they were in vulnerable situations, but I don't think the executives have any excuse.
