Announcer: After her successes over ten years in Berlin as an entrepreneur and business consultant, Dragana Nikolic has finally made it to the place where she belongs, which is the very first meeting of the IHK Chamber of Commerce, with a mandate for 5 years.
This Assembly has been elected from all the registered companies in Berlin, currently standing at 360,000.
The Assembly mediates between the general business community and the government, addressing concerns, providing a voice and facilitating solutions.
How can we create stronger connections between the Berlin business community and businesses worldwide?
Dragana: The Assembly’s key objective to make Berlin one of the largest business centres in Europe and empower the business community here.
There are several avenues to forge stronger connections with global business and I mean to explore them further.
However, the biggest challenge faced by Berlin is administrative. Time and again I have brought up the fact that the administration mindset needs to be reviewed. To be competitive we need to do things faster, which means that processes need to be simpler, the way to get permissions is clearer and much shorter than currently exists. These are all impediments to business. This is why I decided to run for this position, because I knew that I needed a platform for my voice.
Announcer: It is not a secret that the German capital, Berlin has several issues to deal with, but the most important issues really are administrative, and so we sincerely hope that Dragana Nikolic can use her position on the Assembly to create positive change which will benefit us all.

I was so honoured to be selected as a candidate for the IHK Berlin Chamber of Commerce elections.
And now that the results are out and I am elected, I feel …. I feel that finally I have a platform for my voice - where I can use my experience and expertise for the good of the people of Berlin.
