ASOIAF DRAGON COLORS
HUGE SPOILERS OF HOTD
One of the things that saddened me most about Fire and Blood was the lack of descriptions for some of the Targaryen family dragons (yes, I'm obsessed with dragons).
With the release of the book The Rise of the Dragon I was hoping that we would know what color those remaining dragons were, but the only clue we can have about them is the image of the storming of the Dragonpit drawn by Campbell White. Therefore, based on this image and the descriptions of the death of the dragons, I think we can theorize about the color of these dragons (if George told the author about their color).
Thus, the dragons would be the following:
Vermax
We do not have any official description of said dragon, so we must trust the series, where it is shown as a green dragon with a white belly and orange wings.
Shrykos
In the storming of the Dragonpit, Shrykos's death is described as follows:
“The first dragon to die was Shrykos, who was slain by Hobb the Hewer. Hobb leapt onto her neck and drove his ax down into the dragon's skull".
Below in the image we can see a dragon being wounded in the skull by an axe. It would, therefore, be Shrykos, whose color in the image appears to be bronze, similar to Vermithor.
Tyraxes
In the case of Tyraxes, it is said that “he retreated towards his lair, burning each man who pursued him, leaving the entrance impassable due to the number of corpses he left behind. However, the crowd entered through a back entrance. As he turned, the dragon became tangled in its chains, leaving itself at the mercy of its attackers”.
However, the important point that can give us a clue as to which of the dragons in the image is Tyraxes is the following: “His membranes were then sliced from his wings and turned into strips, so dragonskin cloaks could be fashioned from them.”
So, although the dragon should already be dead, this should be the main one. Tyraxes would then be pink/purple with black horns, similar to Morning.
Morghul
The last one left is Morghul, although the third dragon in the image could well be Dreamfyre, given that this dragon managed to break free from her chains and burn many men. However, the dragon in the image is somewhat small and its tone is not completely bluish as Dreamfyre's should be.
If it were not Dreamfyre, then this dragon would be Morghul, who was killed by the Burning Knight, "who rushed into the dragon's flame and stabbed him repeatedly in the eye with his spear." The fact that the dragon is breathing fire could be an indication that it is Morghul. Therefore, its color would be a pearly green.
Stormcloud
We don't have any clues about the color of Aegon III's dragon, so we'll have to wait for its appearance in the show.
Again, I don't know to what extent GRRM spoke with the artist or if the author made his own decisions when choosing the color of the dragons. Maybe with the next seasons of the series we can clear up doubts. I think I'll cry a lot when this scene comes out...sniff

HOTD2 FIVE NEW DRAGONS
This post contains BOOK SPOILERS
A few months ago Ryan Condal confirmed that we would see five new dragons in the second season of House of the Dragon. My first bet was on the following dragons:
Dreamfyre
Moondancer
Tessarion
Silverwing
Sheepstealer
However, the confirmation that neither Daeron nor Nettles will appear in this season really threw me off, since based on that it is most likely that Tessarion and Sheepstealer will not appear either.
So, after seeing the first teaser trailer for this season, I think there are three dragons already “confirmed”:
Moondancer
Silverwing
Dreamfyre
Clearly Moondancer will appear, since we have seen Baela riding it (although she has not appeared in the trailer). On the other hand, the confirmation of actor to play Ulf White would confirm the presence of Silverwing.
Regarding Dreamfyre, here I talk about how we didn't see her in the first season and that her appearance will happen in this one; Perhaps, (SPOILER) as some have commented at Jaehaerys's funeral; maybe it’s Dreamfyre who cremates the prince.
Unconfirmed dragons
For the remaining two dragons I have doubts. One could be clear: Tyraxes. Since the creators stated that this would be the season of the teens, we will most likely see Joffrey's dragon on his journey to the Vale.
The last one is the one that I have the most doubts about.
On the one hand, I think it would be a good opportunity to introduce Morning. (SPOILER) Rhaena would travel with Joffrey to the Vale and she did not have any dragon, an arc that would be interesting to develop in the series. Nevertheless, she took several eggs to the Vale and one of them hatched into what would become her dragon: Morning. That may be a very attractive ending for the series, giving the death of Meleys and Rhaenys as a great loss for the Blacks, the birth of Morning would be a surprising and hopeful ending for Rhaenyra’s allies.
On the other hand, I think it could also be interesting to show us a wild dragon, most likely Sheepstealer, considering that he will have an important role in future seasons.

Dreamfyre or Seasmoke?
Many people assumed when these images appeared that the dragon in the distance was Dreamfyre. Same with the dragon that scared Aemond in the dragon pit, perhaps because some source mentioned it. However, I think that that dragon we've been seeing throughout was Seasmoke and that we haven't seen Rhaena and Helaena's dragon yet.
I found it very strange that it was Dreamfyre considering the color of the dragon: while Dreamfyre is pale blue with silver markings, Seasmokes has silver-gray scales. And the dragons in those images don't look very blue to me...
On the other hand, in the House of the Dragon concept art book there is no image of Dreamfyre, except for a description in which it is said to be slender, as Silverwing would be. In addition, in the concept art Seasmoke is practically a copy of Dany's three dragons, as the dragon in those images is; and Dany’s dragons are not very slender as Syrax or Caraxes could be.
I remember that before the series premiered, Miguel Sapochnik mentioned that we would see nine dragons:
Syrax
Caraxes
Seasmoke
Vhagar
Meleys
Vermax
Arrax
Vermithor
Sunfyre
Dreamfyre
If Miguel said nine, this count shows ten, so one dragon should be left over. Moreover, Ryan Condal mentioned that we will see five new dragons in the second season. If Dreamfyre has not been seen yet, these numbers make sense, because in the second season the new dragons to see would be:
Dreamfyre
Moondancer
Tessarion
Silverwing
Sheepstealer
Therefore, the only image we would have of Dreamfyre would be the one of the three Green dragons flying towards Kingslanding, where nothing more than a shadow can be seen… XD
This is just a theory, it may or may not be true, but I wanted to share it.

After the release of the Fire Will Reign trailer we have been shown more images about the dragons of the Targaryen house. It is clear in some of them who they are, but others have raised doubts. These are my predictions:
Vhagar
Vhagar seems to be the clearest, as she has that grumpy old lady look that has been talked about and the fact that she is falling apart. (I love the double chin they put on her)
Seasmoke
Seasmoke would be next on the list. The only thing we knew about it so far is that it was silver-gray in color. However, compared to the concept art presented to us earlier, it looks like he may have pinkish wings as well. It could be one of the two dragons that appear flying over the sea.
But, added to this, we have a merchandising image in which we were shown three dragons: Caraxes, Syrax and a third silver one. Maybe this was Seasmoke.
Meleys
At first I had my doubts as to whether this dragon was Meleys, given her size (too similar to Seasmoke) and her color, which doesn't seem to be scarlet enough to be a dragon known as The Red Queen. However, the color may be saturated in the image.
The trailer for the second episode that seems to introduce us to the Velaryons makes it clear that she is Meleys, as she flies with Seasmoke to King's Landing with a large fleet of ships.
I adore her serpentine face and spiked neck. I hope that when we see her in better quality she is more of a scarlet color and not an earthy red (redder even than Caraxes I hope)
Sunfyre / Moondancer
The last dragon shown is very small, indicating that we will meet them in their youth.
Some bet on Sunfyre as he appears to have a golden color and pale pinkish wings (sadly the image is very dark). Perhaps we meet him at the moment in which his rider and the dragon bond.
Others bet on Moondancer. Because of her size it could be, although I see it a bit early for the plot, and the dragon doesn't look like it's green.
SPOILERS AHEAD
The plot of the episodes was revealed and as a reader of the books I couldn't resist reading about it.
Based on this information, and knowing that we will see 9 dragons (confirmed Syrax, Caraxes, Seasmoke, Meleys and Vhagar) the ones that remain to be seen are: Dreamfyre, Arrax (yes, we are going to see THAT) and Vermithor. With this we have 8 dragons, so one is missing.
Thus, this last dragon could be neither Vermithor nor Dreamfyre due to its size, and Arrax is described as "pearlescent white with yellow flame, golden eyes and a golden chest".
So I would go so far as to say that this is Sunfyre, either because of the color or because this dragon will be important in the future and it would be a good idea to introduce him in the first season. In addition, with this we would complete the 9 dragons that we have been told about.

This concept art appeared in the video Before the Dance: An Illustrated History with George R.R. Martin | House of the Dragon. From the size and color of the dragons I would say that the biggest one is Vhagar, the bronze one Vermithor and the white one maybe Quicksilver or Silverwing?

Targaryens are Indian
Source of the image: https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Valyrian_Freehold
After I started reading the Fire and Blood book wrote by George RR Martin and illustrated by Doug Wheatley, I felt the need to take this issue to discussion because it has been long time making me think. The fact is that every time we see an illustrated representation of the Valyrians, most artist picture them as Vikings or Romans. The fact is that Aegon I and the rest of the rulers of Westeros would have dressed in Medieval / Modern Age costumes, since the Targaryens adopted the traditions and faith of the Andals. But the rest of them, the father of Aegon I and the Valyrians would not have dressed like that, but like Indians. Why do I think that? Those are the arguments:
• Valyria is a long peninsula surrounded by the Fourteen Flames, in which there are several mines filled with a variety of gems, like India, which is a peninsula and is famous for its variety of precious stones.
• The climate and location are very similar to those in India, as it is a hot weather country.
• The fauna is also the same. There are elephants and tigers, two animals representative of India. Even though Valyria felt its doom and we do not know exactly what animal kind of animals lived there, we can look at Volantis, the city founded by Valyrians. In Volantis there are two political factions, the Elephants and the Tigers, two type of animals that we can find in the city and the surrounding lands.
• The polygamy practiced by Valyrians was a common practice among nobles and emperors in Ancient India.
• [Spoiler from one chapter of Winds of Winter] The women from Lys, Myr and Volantis are told to wear dresses that left their bellies in sight. It is probable that this type of clothing is based in the Indian choli, and since these cities are daughters of Valyria, clearly their culture (clothing) would be the same as that of Valyrian Freehold.
• The gods. The Valyrian religion was polytheistic with a pantheon of several gods, just like Hinduism. Although, Although, this shows nothing, given the fact that most religions of the world (ancient and actual) are polytheistic.
• The architecture. The Valyrian architecture is very similar to the Hindu temples. The facade of the temples is usually decorated with images of gods, goddesses, demons, etc., and they are very high towers. The architecture of Valyria is very similar. If we think of Dragonstone or the Long Bridge of Volantis, you will see what I mean. Moreover, it is said that Valyria had topless towers full of ornaments.
Of course Valyria is not completely inspirited by India. We have the dragon roads and the conquest of Essos, both inspired by the Roman Empire, and even the Doom of Valyria would clearly be inspired by the city of Pompeii or the myth of Atlantis. But considering all these facts, I cannot imagine the Freehold as a Viking or Roman place, rather as Ancient India, but with dragons.
Anyway, this is just my opinion, so feel free to leave your thoughts about it.
Valar Morghulis.

Homer: She killed them. Medea herself, does she not say, “I killed my children”? Ilya: And you believe her? You don’t understand the women. Medea loves her husband, yes? Homer: Yes. Ilya: Her husband is interested in another woman? Yes? Homer: Yes. Ilya: So she said to her husband that she has killed her children to frighten him, to get him back. Homer: No! Ilya: Yes. She gets him back, and everybody go away and everybody is happy and they go to the seashore. And that’s all! Homer: If I show you that everything that was ever written about Medea talks of her killing her children. If you ask 10 out of 10 people who saw the play and they tell you it’s true, then by simple logic…You’re a Greek, you should be logical. Ilya: Why? Homer: Because the greatest Greek of them all, Aristotle, invented logic. He said - Ilya: Who? Homer: Aristotle… Ilya: Aristotle! The one that the Captain said thinks men are everything and women are nothing? I don’t care what he said, Aristotle.
