We're having one-on-one lessons together in two days. Don't you dare try to run away.
Though... I think you're onto something... Who could have sent me that rubber duck? It can't be a coincidence.
Which of your rubber duckies is your favorite (please give photo evidence if possible)
I do have one I am quite fond of.
A friend offered it to me, and I just like very much its expressive face.
Tumblr media
It really got a nice personality.

Hello there. I hope you are doing well.
As for me, I have been struggling to find the right music to make my study session more bearable. I hope you don't mind me asking this, but I was wondering, how do you study? Do you have any favourite techniques?
Hello to you.
I am doing a bit better, as I may have found a way to deal with my assistant's current mood; and I am sorry to hear about your troubles. Thank you for asking.
It seems that studying takes a toll on your mind, and that you can't properly focus on what you should be learning.
I already talked about it in a previous 'ask', but the brain needs at least two different sources to encode information properly and for you to retain and memorize it. Meaning, using two different senses/inputs at the same time. It can be reading aloud (voice/sound+ sight), copying the information by hand (gesture of writing and reading it with your eyes at the same time, or aloud), or even making memorization a game with music, where you can recite your lesson while listening to music; which will then make you remember the lesson's content as soon as you hear again or think back to that specific song.
However, as you can see, there are multiple ways of memorizing. Even more than what I just told you above. It's because everyone has their own way of memorizing, and so, something that would work for someone else might not work for you.
If music ends up distracting your study session, there are two ways to deal with it:
- chose music with repetitive patterns, no variation at all, with a calm rhythm. It will be less intrusive, and actually keep your mind a bit occupied (especially if you are hyperactive) without overloading your mind.
- don't put music at all, and try encoding the information or solving your homework, without that distraction.
As for myself, I usually study in silence with calm, and I read the information both with sight and repeating it in my mind. Sometimes aloud, and with information highlighted, if needed when dealing with especially difficult reads. I won't deny that my memory is quite convenient, since I can read things only a few times if not once, and then remember it as long as I was very focused while doing so.
But do remember that it's also important to take regular breaks. Don't force your brain into doing what you don't want to. Studying should be a gratifying experience helping you to grow, and not a harrowing, dreadful experience.
Take breaks regularly, go at your rhythm, and find the way to study that fits you, and you alone.

I guess... I liked it, yes.
As for what a 'tsundere' is, I just searched it up.
I don't know how to feel about that, save from being conflicted and a bit embarrassed.
But still, thank you for... That enlightening information about myself.
I can’t describe it but your personality is exactly how artificial grape flavor tastes
You mean, as Earth's artificial grape flavor?
...
I think I see what you mean, and I will take that both as a compliment, and as you actually knowing me a bit better than what I'd thought...
Thank you, anonymous one. That is... Nice.

In less fancy words, yes.
One needs to be able to take a break and enjoy simple things.
Remember your weird 'cool rocks' collection?
It's just the same.
You have to enjoy things for what they are.
some students got killed by a math teacher, they said its normal…
how do i escape the school
we never left for like 5 years, how does grass feel like
...
Why am I getting an influx of people who want to 'escape' school?
Tumblr media
As for their teacher, I can't say, really.
Did they do that because said students really didn't show any will to learn, or because they wanted to vent out their frustration?
Of course, a teacher shouldn't vent at their own students, even if they do happen to be the very source of their frustration; and I'm not saying every teacher is a good teacher, in profession and in manners.
However, there is clearly miscommunication here. Why is the teacher unable to make his students wish and want to learn, and why do the students feel desperate enough to want to run away?
It's a two-way problem, as responsibility lies on both ends - although in different ways.
Students shouldn't get used to being treated like that, but, most of all, they shouldn't get used to despair and self-deprecating thinking because they fail to understand a class.
They should try to strive for better, but for themselves; as I answered another 'ask'.
As for the grass, it feels cozy and appeasing under the warm sun.
You should try it, between two lessons.
It won't go away in the meanwhile, and you can enjoy it at any given time. Get there to read a book, or even just relax and get time for yourself.
Grass is nice. Go and lie in it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa doc i don't wanna go to skool tomorow
You're complaining about not wanting to go to school. Fair.
It's not made for everyone, especially I you don't have the will to learn.
However, you should still keep in mind that not everyone has the chance you have: to be able to learn, and in a decent environment as that. To get taught things that may be nonsensical for you right now, but that will definitely influence how you construct your behavior, thought process, and yourself as a whole as well.
I'm not saying you have to force yourself learning things you don't want to, because you will obviously fail if you do so. I'm saying here that you should change your perspective about going to school, and about what you have to learn, and why.
And, perhaps, you'll want to learn for real, and make efforts not for grades or for teachers, but for yourself.
Think about it.

Hi Dr Ratio. I am very confused by social media all the time. Why do anon asks want to be identified with certain emoji or phrases? Like... that sort of defeats the purpose of anonymous ask...?
Hello to you,
The answer to that really lies in whether someone wants to be anonymous for serious reasons or not. In serious cases, no one would ever try that; but if it's for fun, then anything can happen.
In most cases, studies showed that individuality is still very strong despite the anonymous setting, and as such, people who do post as 'anonymous' would still like to be identified and remembered; especially among other anonymous messages.
They want recognition from the person they're contacting, but also from other people from the audience.
But, most of all, it's a need to express their personality, and there's nothing wrong with that.
It can be a way for them to feel accomplished, but also to subtly say more about themselves and their personality, what they like, how they behave...
In this case, I think it is rather very interesting when an anonymous poster wishes to be referred by a specific gimmick or name. I may not remember them all, but it is still very entertaining to know that some 'asks' do come from a same person I previously answered.
It just feels like I am personally tutoring that person, really.
