Dr. Sandeep Lohani, a distinguished academician and hospitality professional, has dedicated his career to shaping the future of hospitality and tourism education in India. Currently serving as the Professor & Principal at Pal College of Hotel Management, Nainital since June 2024, Dr. Lohani brings an impressive blend of academic, industry, and entrepreneurial expertise to his role.

With a Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Lohani’s journey in education began as a Senior Lecturer at Amrapali Institute of Hotel Management, Haldwani, and Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Ambala. He further elevated his career at St. Soldier Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Jalandhar, where he served as Vice Principal and later Principal from 2010 to 2024, leaving a lasting impact on the institution’s growth and academic excellence.

Dr. Lohani’s industry experience is equally commendable. He honed his craft at prestigious establishments such as the Taj Mahal Hotel, Lucknow, and Cost Plus Resort, Ranikhet, gaining invaluable insights into culinary arts and hospitality operations. As an entrepreneur, he owned and managed “Invitation,” a renowned multi-cuisine restaurant in Almora, and successfully organized high-profile catering services for World Bank-financed projects.

A man of many achievements, Dr. Lohani holds multiple Limca Book of Records for culinary feats, including the creation of the longest vegetable sandwich and the maximum varieties of besan chillas. Certified by Amul as a chef, he has conducted live cooking shows, workshops, and training sessions for esteemed organizations such as the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).

Dr. Lohani is a sought-after keynote speaker, resource person, and expert panelist. He frequently addresses national and international conferences, focusing on themes like entrepreneurship in hospitality. His insights have been broadcast on All India Radio, enriching audiences with his expertise. In academia, his contributions include syllabus design, board memberships, and acting as an examiner for prominent universities, alongside serving as an editor, seminar convener, and event coordinator.
