Okay so bad news for everyone on YouTube right now

Starting the 13th, we will have an AI determine if we are children or not and if you are a child, than you are forced to send your ID, send a selfie or a credit card

This has the obvious cons of having your privacy being revoked from you and and in case there is a security breach, major identity thefts.

So what do we do in this scenario?

Well right now I have real idea as this is relativity new to me, but I do have two plans

Plan 1. Bug the shit out of them, send letters and send emails about how much of bad idea this is.

Include why the AI will mess up and target adults who watch cartoons, include privacy issues, censorship issues, anything you can think of that relates to this. I want you guys to bug the hell out of YouTube until they reverse this idea

Send a mass amount of letters on the 5th of August and than another mass amount on the 8th

Plan 2. Blackout.

Since the thing is coming out on the 13th.

The plan will be to completely avoid YouTube at all cost for that day (and beyond), no watching, no sharing, no uploading, no nothing.

Download videos before things go down, watch Netflix. Whatever you do, don’t touch YouTube.

That’s all I can say right now, I also want you guys to let YouTubers know of this situation cause if it’s important for everyone on the website to talk about this immediately

Spread this stuff around, let people know of YouTube’s upcoming policy and how it’ll hurt everyone

Edit: I have taken into consideration and I am going to agree that the blackout should be until the decision is reversed, this is so we are not out at risk as users and so YouTube doesn’t just ignore the original black out

I might have a more detailed plan posted later today, but it depends on everything goes

Another edit: just to remind yall to send in letters and emails about this to google to force their hands to reverse this decision

There is also the law itself, though I can’t speak much on it other than finding lawing bodies that can force YouTube to reverse this decision. If anyone can find a place to file or call for this, that will be greatly appreciated! (I heard maybe the FTC and or the California Consumer privacy right can be considered, but that needs more research)

!WIP! The Case Of The Marine

Danny’s an old contact, really. Someone he met back when he first started out. He had a habit of wandering a bit too close to where he shouldn’t and walking out perfectly fine. Drove Jason crazy how he knew some Batman level type things without ever getting real dirty.

If anyone asks, Danny is a little crazy. He digs and digs til he finds the body and doesn’t stop there. He investigates and gets information you decide not to dig into how he got it. 

Good to know that crazy likes crazy, or whatever it is they say. Jason never really had a problem with him. He is crazy smart and definitely walking the tightrope of becoming a rogue, but a good contact. Around him you learn to play the game if you want a prize, or trick the game master and steal his secrets.

But that’s not important right now.

There’s a shipment of weapons coming in and Jason wants to know why. Of course, he could ask Barbie, but he’s heard the big bat’s been pissy lately. There are times to pick his battles and this? This is not one of them. 

So he off to Danny to find out the root of the problem and maybe a little more.

Another reason to ignore negative comments (especially on AO3)

So at work I’ve been forced to learn about “AI Agentic Workflows”. But being an AO3 author, I couldn’t help but think of how this technology affects authors on AO3 (and honestly on other social media platforms too).

What I learned was this: Agentic AI workflow software makes it extremely easy to automate, and bulk-post, HIGHLY-STORY-SPECIFIC negative comments to AO3 fics.

If you’re not familiar with what an AI Agentic Workflow is, I highly recommend informing yourself. You’ll be hearing it a LOT very soon. Basically, it’s a linked linked chain of AI prompts on one/many software platforms. Each “agent” completes a task. Then it hands off the completed task to the next AI Agent in the chain, which builds on it. Then that result is handed off to another agent, etc etc, even potentially to a final agent which analyzes what worked well and what didn’t, and changes what the other agents do.

There are a ton of repercussions here.

But let’s stay focused on AO3.

With AI Agentic workflow software, a person/group who wants to silence the voice of a community can easily scrape a tag, analyze stories by the thousands, then post thousands of highly customized, story specific negative comments, all without a human being ever seeing your words.

They could even set up AI agents watching to see if you delete your story, or delete your profile, which would be a marker of success. That success marker could be shared back to the other AI agents, and the whole workflow could be changed via automation to use that more effective approach.

I’m sure the OTF is working on ways of stopping this. I’m sure most social media companies are too.

But as usual the tools to create havoc are ahead of the ones to prevent havoc.

Anyway.

TL;DR: If you get a highly-story-specific negative AO3 comment — it does NOT MEAN it was written by a HUMAN! You were probably just story 20,031 in a scraped database of 50,000 stories, all of which were being targeted because they belong to a group/topic/tag that some shitty group or agency wanted to silence because of their horrible political or social.

Don’t let them silence you. They never looked at your words to begin with.

Vladimir Masters is not a good person. 

Ra’s Al Ghul is not better.

While Danny knows that this new world Vlad has some differences, it doesn't stop him from looking for the similarities. Case in point, the heir problem. The cloning. The obsession with blacked haired children who are really smart.

And while Danny himself in this new world has some differences, he’s still got similarities. He’s wicked smart with just as smart parents. Though these ones don’t work for themselves. He’s got black hair but green eyes. He has a wonderful and sweet sister but she’s younger than him. And also obsessed with becoming a nurse. All so similar yet just slightly to the left.

!WIP! All types of beans; Ones I love

    Danny would like to start out saying that it is not his fault.

    It is simply that his problem children want to see him fail. That must be it! There is no other reason for why they have decided they had to sneak out the hotel every. Single. Night.  Without fail too! It is all for the simple reason of wanting to give him gray hairs.

    Tonight, they have chosen to bother the café right across from where they’re staying. He walks in to find them in a very animated conversation with one of the customers there. Ellie is waving her hands around as if to put across some kind of point as the guy simply nods along. Despite the fact that it’s clear he came here to work, evident by the laptop and copybooks in front of him, he is listening carefully to her speech.

    It is cute, heartwarming, and does a funny little thing to his heart. Yes, Danny does in fact have a competence kink. No, he will not speak on it. He’s just here to grab his kids and go. Completely ignore the cute guy being nice to his daughter.

!WIP! Morning cries the mourning tears

Look, no one had to tell him that his habits are bad. He knows, alright? Bart is incredibly aware of everything wrong with him. To impulsive, bit snappish, little childish, emotionally stunted, et cetera, et cetera. They’re been aware of everything going on around him.

They’re a speedster for goodness sake! He processes everything fast.

So when someone like Carol is stuck on whatever argument they had 5 minutes ago, Bart’s moved on. That was basically an hour ago for him. And yes, they are aware how that makes him look like an asshole. He’s very aware of how it looks to her. It looks like they moved on like her emotions didn’t matter. Which, they do! He just processed all the facts while she was sulking.

He is so very aware about the facts that most of their arguments are about that.

But Bart’s got things to do and places to be so he tries not to let it weigh him down. They’ve talked to Carol a dozen times about it, and she does understand but y’know. Sometimes things get caught in the moment. In which she’s angry so he gets angry and then they’re both huffing and puffing without looking at each other. Doesn’t destroy their friendship though.

#All Lost Ones’ Home

A deadtired au in which Tim runs away! But this runaway’s got a secret. A secret boyfriend that is. It’s been years! So why is family only now reaching out?

tldr: Tim runs away to Amity to live with his boyfriend and two step kids. He only told Tam, so she could cover for him at WE, and YJ, so they could cover any outside Gotham stuff and inform JL that Tim’s leaving. Permanently. Except, they made a whoopsie! They made it seem like he fell off the flat Earth!

No ships au. After the destruction of their home universe, Danny and Vlad have come to this new universe to start over. Isn’t it so fun to look at the similarities? The difference? Not that there are a lot. Vlad, or rather Ra’s Al Ghul, is a creep every time.

tldr: After the dp world falls apart for (reasons I’m still working on!!), they reincarnate in the dc world. Danny, or well Dante, is missing his kids dearly. So he asks for help from his dear old godfather. And uh. Who knew how weird it looks when a cult leader known for being a bit mean, is really nice to you. And your kids.

Deadtired au. Danny’s got a new job! A very nice, shiny paying job called being a contractor. As much as he hates the way it affected his parents, engineering is fun. He loves it. He especially likes the cute guy he met along the way..

tldr: Danny’s a contractor/free lance engineer. He creates what he wants and sometimes gets contracted to work for big companies. Because of this, he travels a lot. Great for Ellie’s obsession! Bit hard to adjust to for Dan, but it’s going good! Til one faithful night, in which Timothy Drake-Wayne changes his world.

While asking Barbara is an option, he’s doesn’t really want to have to deal with Bruce, or any of the others for that matter, trying to but in with this. So instead, he heads off to an old contact of his. Danny Fenton; Information Broker.

tldr: Danny is an information broker, Jason is well Jason, and the Batfam is trying real hard to bond with the guy. Oh and there’s maybe a gang war on the rise-

    “Had a good day at work?” he asks while looking hotter than should legally be allowed. Danny’s head leans in close; hovering just slightly away to touch. Ancients.

    The hot weather, combined with his even hotter husband and his nice cool hands over his body, has Tim struggling to speak. He doesn’t even want to speak, he wants to say gawking at his lover. No amount of Bat training would’ve been able to train this reaction away.

    The thought that this is all for him, that Danny is doing this because he sees Tim as someone giving something special, still makes his heart flutter. 

    Danny doesn’t need the house this cool, but he did it for him anyway. Danny thinks roses are overrated, yet still buys them for his birthday. Danny isn’t a fan of going out to eat, but he will do it happily if it makes him happy. Danny, Danny, Danny, Danny. It’s all Danny consuming his head now.
