Rose appreciated Dawn for indulging her. In fact, she enjoyed it more than she let on. Dawn had a way of melting away the rough exterior Rose often demonstrated to others. “Exactly. I knew you’d get it.” She listened to Dawn’s response, nodding along in agreement. Her father was a dick and a half and well, the joker just needed to perish. “Agreed. You got it. Ding ding. We’ve got a winner.” She smirked and nudged her friend gently with her shoulder. “I just know he’s a straight up baddie. Something about the dark web. He’s been sharing some really terrible things so I think he’s got tons to fess up when the time comes.” She kept her eye on the subdued person as she continued talking to her old teammate. At the offer, she tried her best to not show too much of a change in expression but alas, it was Dawn and Rose always thought the world of her. “You sure you want me as your roommate? I’ll be playing Slayer at the ungodly hours of the night and I like to walk around in my underwear.” She laughed softly, taking in Dawn’s last few words. God, she was always so good. “You’re gonna keep me outta trouble, birdie?” 

Dawn smiled when Rose’s shoulder nudged hers. It was good to have her back, she’d missed her. “What do I win?” she asked. “I hope it’s something good and not a keyring or something,” she teased. As her friend explained what the man beside her had done, Dawn clenched her fists, then flexed her fingers a few times. She hated people like him -- they were the ones who deserved the worst form of punishment. “I think you let him off a little too easily in that case,” she said, not bothering to face him as her fist connected with his nose. The crack was more than satisfying. “If whoever you’re handing him over to ask what happened, just say he fell on his face or something.” As Rose described what kind of roommate she’d be, Dawn nodded along with a grin on her face. “I like some occasional Slayer, and walking around in your underwear is fine. If men can do it, why can’t girls?” she shrugged. “Besides, you’re not the worst to look at.” She bumped Rose’s hip with her own. “Of course. What kind of superhero would I be if I didn’t?”

Rachel chuckled softly looking at Dawn she always enjoyed the time she spent with the other, out of most of the original titans she treated her most like her age not that she minded the coddling that Roy and Dick gave her even if she was in her twenties. “It’s okay, things have actually picked up at the shop, and I’ve been able to spend some time with Aunt Zatanna and Uncle John which has been cool” She replied helping the other take the groceries out of the bag humming in happiness at the dinner idea “I’m down for all of that, the question is if we should share with them or not? Lian of course but according to Dick no boys allowed on my floor” She teased before taking the bottle smiling “A woman after my own heart, I’ll grab the opener” She replied moving to set the wine to the side to grab two glasses and the opener.  

"Zatanna? That sounds fun. I hope she’s doing well,” Dawn said, glad that Rachel was spending some time with family away from the Titans. They were all so close, but it was good to keep in touch with people outside of the group, too. It was a good way to stay sane. “Say hi to them both for me. I’m not sure they’ll know who I am, though,” she chuckled. Thinking about what Rachel had said, she tapped her chin. “Hmm, you’re right. But they seem to be super busy these days, so we should probably feed them to keep them alive,” she joked. Dawn watched as Rachel walked away to get the bottle opener, wondering how often she got to do this. She’d always been the baby of the Titans, even if she was nearly the same age as the older members. Everyone was so protective over her, but it was for good reason. “I’ve probably got another bottle in my room if we finish this one. But we shouldn’t get too drunk until after dinner is served, I don’t wanna burn it,” she laughed.

She slid down on the hood of the car to give Dawn some space. They looked like two beautiful little silver haired angels on a mission. Like the good ol’ days. but of course, Rose was no angel and Dawn knew that so here lies the problem. She offered Dawn the extra Ring Ding and a smile for good measure. “hey birdie. hm, I hope it’s not the former because I was too easy on him.” She chuckled and looked up at the sky. It better not rain. She was waiting for these clients and they needed to pay up. “I backgound check all the clients and I hunt them down first. Hence the title. Make sure they’re just as bad as well, name our worst villain.” She grinned. “I promise it’s legit. And I need the money. It’s New York pretending to be the Ritz even in low-income towns. Girl’s gotta eat her Ring Dings, Dawn.” 

Dawn took the Ring Ding from Rose, opening it up and taking a bite. Birdie. She hadn’t heard that nickname in a while. “Well, if he did the former, I definitely agree that he should have the shit kicked out of him.” There was a fine line between justice and going too far. For Dawn, it was a line that was always blurred. “Our worst villain was Slade,” she said, offering her friend a smile. What he’d done to her and Joey was unforgivable, and he’d been just as terrible to the Titans. “Second is probably Joker.” She sighed softly, finishing the Ring Ding in her hand. “So, what did this guy do?” she asked, curiosity getting the better of her. Laughing, she nodded her head. “I guess she does. But, if you’re struggling, you know you can stay with me. I live in the tower, but I have my own floor right now. Nobody has to know you’re there unless you want them to. You’re pretty good at sneaking around, from what I remember,” Dawn teased. “I just don’t want you to get into too much trouble again. Not when you just got back.”

Rachel had just been binge-watching some lastest show she’d heard was all the rage when she heard Dawn calling for her. It wasn’t often she got visitors on her personal floor but when she did she loved it immensely. Pausing her show she hopped off the bed coming down into the Kitchen “Dawn! What a surprise!” She replied moving to hug the sweet women on the counter before looking at the groceries “Nothing much just enjoy my days off, by doing nothing” She chuckled before nodding her head “I’d love too, its been so long since we’ve been able to hang out plus cooking with you is always fun, what’s on the menu for tonight?” She replied peeking in the bags to try and see what the other had planned.

Dawn smiled when she saw Rachel, returning the hug when the other woman’s arms wrapped around her. “I’m sorry I haven’t visited your floor more often. I’ve been taking more classes at the dance studio,” she said, smiling. “That sounds nice. I did plan on doing nothing today, but I ended up grocery shopping instead.” After hopping down off the counter, she pulled the bags towards them and started pulling out the contents. “I thought spaghetti carbonara would be nice? With homemade garlic bread. We can save some for the boys if they want any. I also brought wine, of course,” she grinned, handing the bottle to Rachel.

“Are you telling me it’s not your 3rd birthday today, Timbo? Well, damn. I got this really wrong, didn’t I?” Dawn teased, giving Dick’s brother a smile. She’d bought the card for the brother of one of the little girls in her ballet class. He was also called Timothy, so Tim had thought it was addressed to him. “Don’t worry, it’s for a kid I know,” she chuckled. She took the card, putting it in her purse for later. “What’s up, anyway, Red Robin? What brings you Titans Tower? If you’ve come just to see me, then colour me flattered. Another day, another bounty. Another Ring Ding she can eat in peace. Or that’s what Rose is hoping for but as it turns out, someone has to interrupt just about everything in her life. Even this Ring Ding stop. “Don’t let my bitchy resting face fool you. I’m actually trying to indulge in this and would rather you save whatever you have to tell me until I do.” She opened up the wrapper, staring at the person she had just captured. “I wonder what they did anyway? they’re worth a pretty penny.”

“I don’t think what I have to say can wait until you eat that,” Dawn said, gesturing to the Ring Ding. Seeing Rose again was a surprise, and she wanted to know what exactly she was doing with this man beside her. She hoped that she wasn’t getting into trouble again, but that was a useless thing to hope for. “It’s good to see you, Rose.” Dawn looked the stranger up and down, her brow furrowed. “He could’ve murdered a family, or it could be as petty as him keying a car. You know that this life isn’t good for you. What the fuck are you doing, Wilson?”

“Rach!” Dawn called out, walking into the kitchen on their floor. She’d grabbed some ingredients to make dinner, and she wanted to know if her friend could help. They hadn’t spent a lot of time together lately, which was mostly due to Dawn being busy at work. She hopped up onto the counter, swinging her legs back and forth as she waited for Rachel to make an appearance. When she finally came into her field of view, she gave her a beaming smile. “What’s up?” she asked, then gestured to the bag of groceries next to her. “Do you wanna make dinner with me? I figured we could talk while we do it -- catch up and stuff. And cooking is always more fun when you have someone else to do it with.”
