Last thing I’m gonna say on the matter is that as the societal policing of fat bodies intensifies both on tumblr and otherwise and as ozempic usage and diet culture continues to wipe away the performative faux body positivity companies previously exhibited when pretending to support ‘plus size’ people was still trendy, it is now more important than ever for leftists to give a shit about fat liberation. The diet industry wants to sell us starvation on a silver platter as if bodily conformity alone can nourish us. You can’t topple capitalism without toppling the diet industry and the fatphobia it’s shilled to us in the process. :)

Attention for a fundraiser that is stagnating
Ibrahim's father has cancer & his mother has diabetes, and he himself is just a young teenager who is scared and trying to be safe. Everyone deserves that.
Ibrahim says he's been getting ignored more and more, and he geels that nobody on tumblr cares about the survival of him and his family anymore, and yet his fundraiser is SO CLOSE!! Multiple times now we've seen gofundme take down or disable the fundraisers of different Palestinians, even when they were as close to 96% of their goal, sometimes even multiple times for the same person.
Let's make sure that doesn't happen by getting more Palestinians their fundraisers completely met and get them to safety as quickly as we can. His donation link & vetting info is down below, last donation was 9 hours ago
( VETTING: #25 on the Gazavetters document )

Guys please talk about Palestinian prisoners’ day. It feels like everyone has gone full mask off and just stopped bringing attention to this entirely - but a lot of detainees you advocated for one year ago are still detained today. Still facing the same conditions of squalor & torture & being indefinitely separated from their loved ones. The stats on Palestinian detainees are still as bad as they’ve ever been. Please talk about it

I feel like ppl get bogged down in semantics so let me make it real simple for you. A zionist is someone who supports the state of Israel. Zionism is the belief that a Jewish ethnostate called Israel should be developed in the Levant region (Palestine and Lebanon and Syria) regardless of the existence of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon and their people. When any pro-Palestine person says someone is a Zionist, that's not a synonym for Jewish, nor is another word for "person I don't like". When we call someone a zionist it's because they support the existence of Israel as a colony. And just so we're clear: it does not matter if a zionist says they're sad about Palestinian suffering or they want to "live in peace" with Palestinians because as long as they support the existence of a colonial ethnostate called Israel then they're still doing Zionism. If I came to your house and just started living there and tried to starve you out and torture you so you would leave your house, it wouldn't matter that I felt "sorry" for you because I'm the reason you're suffering at all. That's why when you try and say "well, Neil Druckman says he wants the war to stop" that doesn't matter. He's still a zionist. He still wants Israel to exist as a colonial state which will always be at the expense of Palestinians. Do not fall for liberal Zionists. Get it in your fucking head that there's no "progressive" Zionism because there's no "progressive" way to support a state that necessitates the elimination of whole peoples.

this is seriously such a good interview, if you've got a spare twenty minutes you should listen to it, because it's also the kind of interview and the kind of conversation that is very difficult to come by in western media
Lamont-Hill: You write that "the very moment that a Palestinian exits the womb he is unchilded, flung away from childhood and treated as both a good-for-nothing nobody and a dangerous ticking time bomb at once." How did you experience this reality of being unchilded? El-Kurd: In my particular case, it's unique in some aspects and very common in other aspects. You know, the fact that you are treated like an adult from the very beginning of your life. There is no way to coddle you or shelter you from the reality of the occupation. There is not a time wherein your parents are going to have 'the talk' with you because you see it from the first time you open your eyes, and also the Israeli Occupation Forces treat you as though you are a threat on the checkpoints, in the street, on your way to school and so on and so forth. For me and for many other Palestinian children, also you are forced into—sometimes forced, sometimes you kind of like volunteer or find yourself—into the role of the advocate, as a child. We saw this demonstrated in its most flagrant form in the Gaza Strip when Palestinian children put on this so-called children's press conference and they stood behind the podium and pleaded with the world to stop the bombing, to stop the genocide of the Gaza Strip. And for many Palestinian children this is a role you take on because you recognize or the NGOs that come, or the activists and huuman rights organizations that come to your neighborhoods, recognize that lawmakers around the world, that adult audiences around the world are quite racist against Palestinians, particularly Palestinian men. And so we burden our children with the task of giving humans eyes for humanity, we ask them to memorize these talking points, to— Lamont Hill: Is the idea that the world may be more generous, they may have more grace for Palestinian children than Palestinian adults, that the racism doesn't quite seep into their perception of the children as much? El-Kurd: That's the idea. That's the theory. But on the contrary, I think that the world has a lot of disdain for Palestinian children.

This is Doaa @doaaadas
Tumblr media
Originally from north Gaza, Doaa lived with her parents in a comfortable home. When the IOF invaded, they became trapped in their home for days, going hungry and thirsty for much of that time. When they finally escaped, Doaa’s father was killed and Doaa was injured.
Since that day, Doaa’s health has been extremely fragile. She tries to receive what treatment she can, but the lack of availability of care has exacerbated her injury and created a cascade of health problems.
Tumblr media
Doaa is currently in surgery and she is in very poor condition. Although we are glad she was able to get this procedure, it is not going to be a cure-all. She will still have serious health problems, and the trauma of the surgery itself will leave her weak and vulnerable to infection and disease.
Doaa has only her mother with her. Her mother is terrified and exhausted, and has no source of income. Please help them afford basic necessities like water, food, and supplies for managing Doaa’s health going forward.
Please donate what you can and share her campaign so it gets more visibility. It has very low funds, and your sharing is very helpful and appreciated.
Thank you❤️
Doaa’s campaign is verified by @mohammedalhabil2000
