well i did it, i managed to do the pages for chapter 5 like i had planned !!! :) yey

having said that........i guess thats it! i hadnt planned on doing any more pages past the ones ive posted--they were mainly to promote the sequel's fic anyway ^^;;

i hope theyve incentivized you enough to check out the full fic...!! doppelganger's been a big part of my life since 2015, and its very special to me. so im happy to have been able to share it with you all, as well as the sequel!!

another update. love that for me

hey guys, dan here again!!! wanted to give another update on progress!

so if you follow my main you know im also working on other stories/comics at the same time as dpgii! my dbz oc comic "mirrors" is my current baby that im putting most of my time into. having said that, i kind of..havent been working on any doppelganger pages x'D but theres more to it than just being occupied with another comic, which is what i wanted to talk about!

the original plan for dpgii was that i was going to just do the entirety of chapter 1 as a comic and then stop, allowing everyone to read the fic afterward once they got a taste of the story. then i realized i didnt have the energy or interest to invest into a full chapter, so i decided to compromise with saying i'd do a small scene from each chapter instead. THEN i realized i dont have the motivation for even THAT much...and i left it at the first five pages.

i guess that's where i'm at right now? im kinda lowkey getting back into danny phantom for reasons i kinda talked about on main a while back, so my interest in dpg has been on and off rather than just..off x'D but ive been considering at LEAST, if nothing else, drawing the one scene i was excited for--or...i guess in this case, the whole chapter. chapter 5! it has the most action and the most drama--just like the og comic--and i was really looking forward to drawing it!

so im thinking i might do that :] however this could change too..so i dont want to promise anything! apologies if any of u were excited for a full comic or even little snippets 🙏 its just hard to invest so much time and energy into something i only have a little bit of interest in..as much as i genuinely love it

hiiii everybody dan here :] just wanted to update on the status of things!

i realize i posted five pages and then dipped LMFAOO dont worry thats not All i had planned to draw

however, what i DID plan to draw has changed a bit? originally i was going to do JUST the first chapter and then nothing else, leaving the rest as fic. however, now im thinking i kind of want to draw bits and pieces from each chapter--my favorite scenes--so i have something to show for each chapter. it wont be full chapters like the original doppelganger comic, but i hope it will at least incentivise you all to read the full story! so im not drawing all of chapter 1, i might just leave those five pages as all i do for this chapter unless i figure out another scene i want to draw...OH AND. im thinking about formatting the pages as bulk postings due to this new format! so each scene will be a post

i hope this is still ok with yall and still exciting :] i just figured this was a great way for me to get the visions out that i was most excited to draw, all while not having to commit to a huge comic project on top of my current Other comic project (yes mirrors is still going on. since 2018. im alive)

aaaaaand cover drop!!

i've been keeping this a secret for a hot minute LOL but ive decided to go through with making dpgii into a comic!! the fic may be complete, but i have a Vision that id like to share with everyone <3 so comic time it is

like i said in the tags on one of the previous pages, i'm going to be posting these as i finish them, so there will be no schedule! exciting surprises. lol. but! having said this, i do not feel any obligation to work on these pages and i'm doing it STRICTLY for fun, when i feel like it. that's a big difference from the first comic--i really burnt myself out on dpg for a while and it was no longer fun. but this time im going to change that!

anyway, i hope youve enjoyed the intro to chapter 1 so far, and i hope youre excited for the comic version of doppelganger ii !!!

SEQUEL??!!

hey everybody, long time no see!

first off, i wanted to thank everyone for all the consistent love on this story throughout the years! i hadn't dreamed it would still get this much love so many years later after i finished posting it in 2018! that really does fill my heart with joy <3

in any case, i wanted to let you all know that i have actually written a sequel to the story and posted it in the form of a fanfiction! i know it may not be as exciting as a comic, but i'm hoping that if you enjoyed the comic's story enough, you'd want to see what happens next in any form it may take. i've wanted to make a dpg sequel ever since it ended, and due to fandom hopping and burnout it kind of felt like a dead end for me for the longest time. however, with the release of the new graphic novel, i finally got the motivation and interest to start up my danny phantom engine again and finish the story like i've always planned to! and who knows--maybe one day i'll find the time and energy to comic-ify it as well? i guess we'll see; i have so many comic projects to do already, haha..

the sequel is six chapters long as well, and it's completely uploaded on my ao3 already! i whipped it out in one day once i got the outline made lol. still, i hope you might take the time to check it out and see what all i had planned for dan after the end of the comic!
