Empty Tea Bag, or Tea Infuser
New Moon Water
Black Tea Bag, or Loose Leaf Black Tea
Dried Lavender
Dried Rosemary
Slice of Lemon, or Lemon Juice
Honey (optional)
Any type of milk (optional)
Directions 🔮
Combine dried rosemary and lavender. Place this herb mixture in an empty tea bag or in the tea infuser along with the black tea.
Heat the new moon water to the optimal temperature to brew the black tea.
Place the tea bags (one with black tea, the other with the herbs) or the tea infuser (with the combined black tea leaves, lavender, and rosemary) in the mug with the heated moon water. Steep for a desired amount of time.
Remove the tea bag or infuser and add the lemon.
Sweeten with honey to taste, and add milk to taste (optional).
Tips and Additions ✨
Perform this spell on a new moon or lunar eclipse, on a Saturday or Monday, or during a rainy night.
Before the first step, light a black candle and/or burn a purifying incense (such as myrrh, frankincense, or lavender). Practice fire safety if adding this additional step to the spell.
Add coconut milk to the tea, as it is associated with protection.
Add black pepper or cayenne pepper to the tea for additional banishing properties.

Hi! Could you please offer me some insight about the two of swords? I bought the pictorial key to the tarot by Waite and he talks about firndship, intimacy and courage. I was taught that this card represent making a choice. Thank you for your advice!
Why We Read Tarot Symbolically Today
Photographed here are the Twos of every suit from the oldest surviving tarot deck, the Visconti-Sforza (c. 1400s).
Below them for comparison are the Twos of today’s most popular deck, the Rider-Waite (1910).
As you can see, the Minor Arcana were not fully illustrated in the old days. The Two of Wands was depicted as just two wands, the Two of Cups as simply two cups, and so on.
The unsung fortunetellers who started using these playing cards called tarocchi for divination simply assigned random meanings to them.
Their cards bore no visual clues to remember that the Two of Cups was about love and friendship, or that the Two of Pentacles was about obstacles and agitation. They had to memorize every card’s meanings, upright and reversed.
A.E. Waite, who created the Rider-Waite deck, wanted to use tarot for more than just fortunetelling. But to use it for meditation, reflection and scrying, he had to carve the meanings into the cards themselves. The dull business of memorizing each one, which looks so awfully similar to each other, was simply not going to work.
So whatever traditional tarot meanings he learned about, he directed Pamela Colman Smith to illustrate.
The Two of Swords originally meant conformity, courage, friendship, concord, tenderness, affection, intimacy and harmony.
Waite and Smith decided that a blindfolded woman in white holding two swords is an image that captures this list of meanings.
The problem with art is that it is very subjective. You might see the painting of a black sky as worrisome and gloomy, and I might interpret it as elegant and stylish.
Same with tarot. While Waite and Smith tried to be faithful to the cards’ traditional meanings, people simply began to interpret the cards differently.
When you look at the Two of Swords now, knowing its old meanings, you can indeed see conformity and concord in the woman being blindfolded… courage in the fact that she is holding two weapons… friendship and harmony in that she is not pointing these swords at anyone… tenderness in her unthreatening stance… intimacy and affection in her wearing a sheer nightgown.
But if you are unversed in tarot’s history, all you will see is a blindfolded woman weighing two things in her hands — trying to make a choice.
And so it was that after the Rider-Waite’s birth, tarot’s traditional meanings were replaced completely with whatever was obvious in this deck’s drawings.
So if you come across more tarot meanings that seem to have nothing to do with what modern readers are using, gaze at your cards… and really try to see how your deck includes them too, though very subtly.

Unexpected Aspects of the Types
ENFP: They actually crave schedules and structure like nobodies business, if and only if it revolves around their passions.
INFP: The “manic pixie dream girl” stigma is so wrong. 90% of them are more along the lines of “embittered memelords” with a splash of off-beat and sensible fashion.
INTP: They’re actually excellent in social situations that they throw themselves into. Your odd aggressiveness and shouting is amusing and weirdly charismatic.
ENTP: You’ll have to murder them a thousand times before they’ll admit that they actually DO crave harmony and peace more than chaos; Debate and verbal jousting (and memes) is just their way of getting there.
ENFJ: The worst time management skills. Worse than all of the P’s put together, bar none. You got stars in your eyes and not a single “no” in your throats and it often leaves you ragged busybodies from over committing yourselves.
INFJ: Despite their ‘mysterious and secretive nature’ stigma, if you engage them in a deep conversation about their passions, 9 times out of 10 they will splay their soul to you even though you met 5 minutes ago at a college party.
ISFJ: They’re known for being the kindly, grandmotherly type that just wants the best for their friends, but the flip side is they’re all basic bitches that secretly crave being a tool. They’re usually just too nice to go Full Douche™, praise the Lord.
ESFJ: Despite being known as the social butterfly who can grace any situation, they’ll 100% ask you a thousand clarifying questions about something arbitrary and still act like you’re the weird one.
ESTJ: Weirdly enough, more often than not, they’re one of the most socially graceful and self-aware people in the room. That, or they’re utterly cringeworthy. Not really any in between. Just don’t get them started on politics (I’m begging you).
ISTJ: Despite the ‘emotionless Traditionalist™ robot’ stigma, although they can’t offer consistent emotional output, all of the ones I’ve met are some of the most emotionally stable, mature, and available people I’ve ever met.
ENTJ: Your responsible, efficient, and commanding CEO of a friend is actually the biggest procrastinator in the game, bar none. It’s hidden under a few hundred layers of self-confidence, but they need the stress of the last minute to feel anything in this world.
INTJ: Massive internal war between fearless, emotionless sociopathy, and caring so deeply for a select few people that they’d give up every ambition to follow them to the ends of the earth without a single plan. TL;DR, their black and icy hearts are secretly hearts of gold and they absolutely abhor that about themselves.
ESFP: Your favorite quick-talking, loud-mouthed, social explosion with all the friends is probably pretty lonely on the inside. Almost every ESFP I’ve met has huge commitment issues (big and pretty accurate stereotype), but few people realize it usually comes from self-knowledge of their sporadic nature, and they keep people at an emotional distance as a result, so they don’t end up getting hurt. Advice: letting people in and trying to make it work is infinitely better than loneliness in a crowd.
ISFP: The EXTJ’s WISH they could be as soul-crushingly terrifying as your favorite superwholockian, equestrian painter friend when somebody’s crossed their family or friends.
ESTP: The “sex, drugs, drinking, and more sex” cliche with ESTP’s is so dumb because literally every ESTP I know doesn’t care about alcohol or sex more than any other person I’ve met, but they ARE infinitely more obsessed with ultimate frisbee and bridge jumping.
ISTP: The calm, rational, logical side of Ti is thrown completely out of the driver’s side window when they’re behind the wheel, because these hoes have the worst road rage I’ve ever seen, without exception.

Worship for Chthonic Deities
💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀
Chthonic (or chthonian) deities are are Gods that dwell beneath the earth. This includes any Underworld deities, as well as deities that are associated with the Underworld (Gods like Hecate would be included, since They often visit the Underworld). Some of you may have noticed that there’s hardly any information on how to worship certain chthonic deities. Here, I give you some starting tips:
💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀
With most chthonic deities, offerings are usually poured down instead of sent up. This means incense is a less common offering, as you want to offer things that are poured down into the earth, where They symbolically reside. I usually offer oils (often olive oils) and teas. Other offerings may include wine, juice, blood and essential oils. I pour the physical remains into the earth after ritual–just make sure you’re not harming any nature when you’re doing this!
I know that in some pantheons, it’s common to take a sip of a drink before offering it to a heavenly deity. With chthonic deities, don’t take a sip before you offer it. It’s traditional to offer the entire drink to Them. (I got such a death glare from Hades when I didn’t do this correctly pun intended).
If you God is associated with the dead, cleaning up cemeteries and tending to old graves are GREAT versions of philanthropic worship!
Stones are often used with chthonic deities, in spells aided by Them and on Their altar. Check your deity’s symbols for appropriate stones, but in general, any dark, jagged stone works best (such as obsidian and smoky quartz).
You may make an altar to chthonic deities easily. Black, grey, metallic, and purple candles are common (depending on your God). Stones, money, any bones (or representations of bones) you have, and items passed down in your family (a form of ancestral worship) also work well on the altar!
You may create an altar to spirits of the dead or your ancestors too if you wish!
Remember that the element of earth is sacred to most chthonic deities as well. Using dirt, herbs and any other earth elemental magic works in devotion to Them.
Although spirit work is common with chthonic deities, it is not required. Again, spirit work is not required. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it, don’t.
If you do pursue spirit work, treat them kindly but remember that some spirits do lie. Pendulums, tarot, astral projection, and offerings work well as beginning spirit work.
If you don’t feel comfortable using your blood in magic, don’t. It is not required.
You do not have to be a certain type to witch, or even a witch, to worship a chthonic deity.
Do not forget to study up on your God! Learn their stories, associations, powers, and traditions. All chthonic deities are different!
And finally, but most importantly, talk to Them. Talk to Them silently, out loud in front of an altar, or write to Them in a journal (which I do all the time). They are Gods, so They will listen to you, and respond when They think best.
💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀・:*:・゚★💀
OP NOTE: Your worship is YOUR worship. This post is a guide for people who have had trouble finding information on worship for their deities. It is not law. You worship how you feel best, and it’ll be worth more than anyone else’s advice will.
Also, thank you for the encouragement, @daisy-witch! You’re super cool and I hope this helps! (/・v・)ノ.:*・°💀

**ON PLANTS : SOME PIECES OF ADVICE & LORE FROM FRENCH TRADITIONAL WITCHCRAFT**
These ancient superstitions and beliefs prove the deep respect human beings had for their environment, back to an era when we were aware of the unity of this nature.
HARVEST
- Avoid cutting the plant with a vile metal such as iron. The first mythical reason is that spirits (especially faes) abhor iron, known to repel and hurt them. Use a bronze or copper blade, sometimes even a gold or silver coin to dig up the roots. There also lies a logical, scientific explanation of a remarkable empiric coherence : iron salts quickens the action of the tannins contained in certain plants, significantly altering their components.
- Some plant spirits are not cooperative, so you’ll have to foil their harmful influence. Do not talk to anyone about your intention of picking the plant on your way to reach it, so as not to warn the spirit - thus counteracting any intention to flee it may have.
- Pluck the plant backwards to protect yourself from the spirit’s ire (this is particularly true of poisonous beauties such as foxglove, belladonna, etc.).
- Drawing a circle around the plant, using a wand or a knife, or even the finger, isolates the reaper from the wrath of the spirit while preventing it from escaping its plant host .
- It is expected to explain to the plant the intended use for which it is plucked.
- Pay a small tribute to the spirit of the plant as a salary for the effort you asked from it.
PRAYERS, PLEAS & INVOCATIONS
Je coupe ta verdeur parce que tu purifies toutes les humeurs qui entraînent l’Homme sur des chemins d’erreur et d’injustice ; par le Verbe vivant qui a fait l’Homme sans le regretter. »
•
“I will cut your greenness, so you could purify all the moods that lead Man on the paths of error and injustice; by the living Word who made Man without any regrets.”
(Supposedly from abbess Hildegarde de Bingen, who also advocates to cut the plant with the left hand)
« Ô toi par qui s’endort la nature, toi qui fais fuir le jour et amène la nuit, toi qui nous cache le soleil, qui engendre toutes les herbes et les donne aux humains pour la guérison… Celle qui vous a créée avec vos propriétés salutaires veut bien que je vous cueille. »
•
“O thou by whom nature falls asleep, thou who drive away the day and bring about the night, thou who hides the sun, who generates all the herbs and gives them to the humans for healing… She who made thou with all thy salutary properties allows me to pick thou. ”
« Lève-toi, lève-toi, va guérir X… Je sais que tu dors, mais j’ai besoin de toi. »
•
“Wake up, wake up, and come to heal X… I know you are asleep, but I need you.”
STORAGE
- Drying a plant makes it lose a large part of its properties. Whenever possible, always favor the use of fresh plants.
- The plants are hanging in a bouquet or spread on a flat surface to dry in open air.
- Plants are stored in glass jars or paper bags once fully dried. Iron boxes and containers are of course prohibited.
- Do not keep your plants more than a year: their power slowly fades then disappears, so you will have to renew the stock every year.
