So... Weisshaupt and Treviso.

I've been thinking about Lucanis and his story/romance today, because my brain just loves to fill in the gaps sometimes. (And boy, are there gaps to fill in for this guy...)

Imagine what's going on in this poor Crow's head after Weisshaupt with a Warden Rook, who saved Treviso.

This stranger just shows up one day out of nowhere and saves his life. They KNOW he's an abomination, that he has a demon with him at all times, and still they accept him, invite him into their hideout and treat him like a person. And when he needs them most, when Ghilan'nain and her blight threaten Treviso and he knows he doesn't have the right to ask for their help but he's asking still, they show up for him. They join him and help save his city. His home. His people.

And the second he gets the chance to do the same for them? Repay that debt?

He fails. He misses. "Give me another shot!" he says, but it's too late.

The one thing they hired him for, freed him for, he fails to do. But it's not just that. Weisshaupt is Rook's home. Their people. Gone. Because he missed.

Imagine how much harder the argument with Davrin hits when there's another Warden at the table. One that risked so much to spare Treviso the same fate. One that he's come to care about. They might not say it out loud, but they must be thinking it, right? He missed. It's his fault.

And after he shoots back against Davrin, does he bite his tongue? Is he ashamed of what he said in a moment of defensiveness? "And you, Warden? What about the blight that runs through your veins? The same blight that Ghilan'nain commands so effortlessly." Because Davrin isn't the only Warden here, is he? And Rook, after all, never attacked Lucanis for what he is.

Just some more shame and guilt to add onto the pile. And for a romanced Rook, one more reason he's afraid to express his feelings. How could they ever truly forgive this?

why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?

hold on a fucking second. delaware is a state?? i thought it was a river? or is the river more important than the state? why don't i know this? (i should mention i don't like in america, i'm just confused)

there is delaware (state) and delaware (river) 

both are equally strange

the state is a tiny little cryptid thing

the rive is a monster that spans new york, pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. also washington crossed it once and that was like kinda a big deal i guess. like crossing the rubicon in rome.

the state tries to me more important with its “im the first state!!!” bs (seriously its even on the fucking license plates) but we all know. its the river.
