Donny frowned slightly as she continued lying, but now to his face. Now, Donny didn't think lying was a big deal. He understood white lies and he understood having to lie for certain reasons, but it was hard to watch someone try to cover up a lie with more lies. Especially after being caught. As he looked back to the last few weeks, he realized how much their time together had been cut. Which already wasn't a lot, but that was not the point. He had always respected when she had to put her career first, but today the career was just an excuse. "I'm not upset." He repeated. "I'm just hoping I can get an explanation here. A real one? Because it feels like this isn't the first lie..." Looking down at his outfit, he felt silly. Wearing a button up, and dark dress pants. The reason he wanted to come over was for a sexy birthday surprise. Even though his outfit didn't show that, what he was wearing underneath did.

Mila looks down at the phone and takes a deep breath before answering. “ Hey babe,” she answered with a slight smile. She waited for his reply back and listened to him carefully before answering back. “ Wait…you’re at my door?” She asked him for reassurance as she bit her lip and looked over at the front door. She went over to the door and looked through the peep hole to see him standing there, replying back to her question. She removed her eyes from looking through the peep hole and placed her hand on her forehead like a dummy. Then opened the front door to see him standing there on the phone. “ I…I can explain,” she nodded before hanging up the phone on her end as she looked at him.

Mila knew now that she had to tell the truth because she wasn’t a very good liar when caught in the act. “ I mean I was at the bakery and…I was going to go back to do the inventory,” she nodded. When she was completely already in her short silk blue night gown, hair pinned up, and with fuzzy pink slippers on. She saw him take a glance at her attire and sighed. “ I’m sorry,” she said as she closed her eyes and shook her head in shame.

Donny: Do you like jello? Donny: I'm going to be 27. Which is basically 30. So, we gotta throw a big party.

Emma: I'd never lie

Emma: Lmao, man you start early!

"Tell me about it. I almost didn't make it!" He chuckled, though he was half serious. "Yeah, I've come to appreciate all the trips the mayor takes us on. Plus, it's hard to leave when you have a lease." He joked. "But yeah, it's a sweet little town." Donny added, happily. "So, who's the pick me they were talking about? Oh, was it not a good year?"

"Oh shit did you really? That's awesome Donny, congrats for being in Red Edge a year, that's an accomplishment." Shane smiled and looked at him. "I'm assuming you like it if you've lasted a year?" He ased with a chuckle. "Hey, I will take those classes because I was so damn confused. I'm good. I'm happy that this year is coming to an end to be honest and I'm excited for what 2025 will hold."

Donny: *ring a ling ding*

Donny breathed in as he heard the ringing on his side. "Hey, so..." He clears his throat. "I was just at the bakery..." A pause. So, he knew she wasn't at there. "So, I assumed you'd be home and free for the rest of the night. Which is why I decided to drive up here and... you were suppose to say 'sure, come over', and I'd say 'surprise, I'm already here', but you didn't. So, I'm assuming there's another reason other than you being crammed at the bakery, unless you meant that as euphemism."

Mila: Oh um..okay then what is it?

Mila: But yeah that's fine.

Donny: No, no. I could never be upset that you're focused on your career, but...

Donny: Can I call you?

Mila: ?

Mila: No?

Mila: Im sorry but Im trying to make some time for you as much as I can.

Donny: ...

Mila: Aww I miss you too Donnie bear. I'm sorry babe, I can't tonight. I'm literally crammed at the bakery and I have to finish inventory. But maybe we can later this week!

"Nice! You should give me your card, I know several people who might need a photographer." Donny snatched the phone from Patrick. "Uh..... How about I show you instead. Don't want any bad ones to pop out."

"I do a little bit of everything, but mostly landscape and portraits" He answered Donny's question as he flipped through Donny's pictures.

Donny: Lol of course! We gotta start planning our next birthday

Emma: You in a "sexy costume" is gross always !

Emma: I seriously bought that one, you're a jerk!

Emma: But also you're not a jerk cause you pick me over her!!! <3

"Did they get that from that Netflix movie?"

"The boys I nanny for just told me, before I left for this movie night, to not summon any demons. Apparently they have it in their mind that this movie night is actually a cult thing, which is very funny." @rededgerpstarterblog

"That hasn't happened to me. I have started watching a show just because someone I like was in it, but not the other way around. Did that happen to you?"

"Do you ever stop watching a show or a movie when someone you like gets killed off or do you guys not watch something if a certain actor or actress is in it? I'm really curious to know." @rededgerpstarterblog

"I don't know... I'd rather hear it from you, but like I said, I don't need to know." He was a very nosey guy, but he liked Thea, and would respect her privacy unless she felt a need to vent about it. He smiled extra wide for her. "I have my mom to thank for it. You know genetics and the braces. I've been good, looking forward to the cooler weather and celebrating the holidays. What are you doing this winter?"

"I think the whole town knows and if you want to look, you can." Thea said and looked at Donny and smiled and blushed a bit. "Uh, thank you." She said. "So do you. How have you been?"

Donny showed him what was mostly selfies and a picture of some animals. "Cool. What kind of photography do you do?"

" Yes and yes" Patrick said with a nod " That's what I do for a living" He explained

"I'm good! Enjoying fall, this is usually when works start to pick up for me. And I celebrated my one year ann of living in Red Edge, last month!" Donny explained happily. "Haha, no worries, I'm gonna start a class dedicated to explaining zoomer slang." He joked. "Yeah! I'll be there. What about you?"

"Hey Donny, how are you doig man?" Shane asked the younger male and nodded as he listened to him. "Thank you for explaining that to me because I was very confused." He laughed. "Are you going to the Friendsgiving event this year?"

I can try. Been really busy around the bakery but I can make some time. Am I allowed to as why? 😌

honesty day: best lie you told to get out of something?

There's a few I have that work for just about any scenario you might be trying to get out of: 'it's my birthday' (obviously they have to not know your actual birthday), 'that doesn't align with my brand/journey/passions', 'i'm dealing with a sudden wardrobe malfunction' (when you need to get out of it, at the last minute) and if those fail, 'i have a doctor's note'.

Donny chuckled “Hey Shane. A pick me is a person that seeks validation from their gender-of-interest by claiming to be ‘different than other’s in their gender group. You know the ‘nice guy’ thing. That’s technically a pick me, though the phrase is more commonly used within woman groups, and has since evolved into subcategories.” Donny finished with a nod. “I can’t image why.”

"What am I supposed to do now that my secret is out?" Thea asked the person she was meeting up with for coffee. "I mean, it's not like the world stopped spinning, though I did go into a hiding for a while after it happened." @rededgerpstarterblog
