Childhood Memories

My childhood memory wasn’t exactly fun as I thought it would be. My family is very judgmental because they’re strict Christians. On my mother’s side it’s like I get to have fun and be a child but also live a Christian life as a child; but it’s the exact opposite on my dad’s side. My father wanted me to be the perfect child coming from 14 kids (I know a lot right).  My mother would let me run around the house with my sisters and enjoy life. When it came down to doing my homework I made sure to get it done on time. According to my dad’s side, they would let me read Bible’s and make me stay up all night giving scriptures making sure I learned what I needed to know. Every Sunday I would go to church and afterwards I would go to my grandmother’s house for dinner. While growing up my family would have family reunions in different states around America. I also learned a few things about my childhood memory. My father explained to me about my religion as far as being Christian and I also learned more about my race being Chinese, Indian (Cherokee) and Native American. I loved everything that he told me; but there were something’s that I wasn’t proud of, my father neglected my sister and I when he had other children. Growing up I took it very hard because I looked at the other children being happy around me. I was also insecure because they would talk about their fathers doing so much for them. As far as I’m concerned, I’m glad I have a special bond with both sides. Until then, I never talk to my father but the good part is I talk to his brothers (my uncles) and sisters (my aunts) today same goes for my mother’s side.

Let Go of a Friendship. Not all friendships are meant to last forever; some come into our lives and exist for different reasons at different times in our life. Holding on to a relationship that has run its course doesn’t do either of you any favours. Quality rather than quantity of friends is the important factor.
