Announcement: This blog is being taken offline.
I know it’s been a long time, and I’ve found that between my new job and my personal life, I no longer have the time or the energy to keep these blogs running like I used to. If anybody wants to keep on writing with me and my characters, please feel free to DM me for a Discord handle–I’d be more than happy to keep in touch! I’ve honestly found I’m more happy RPing on Discord with friends than I am with strangers on Tumblr, and I feel I’ve grown a lot both as a writer and as a person since my days being active in this community. But for right now, I’ll leave this message up for another week, and then the blog itself is being deleted.
Thank you guys for understanding.

send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on
I might write anything from a paragraph to a whopping essay, but send me something you’ve noticed about my characterisation or just something you want to know about my muse and I will write what I can!

batman in general is a guy you have to choose who you talk to about because you could either have a compelling conversation on his merits, the characters around him, what he could represent…. or you’re in a a nightmare situation as they ramble about how cool he is. are you talking with someone about bruce wayne or are you talking with someone about their cool hero who always wins. maybe that’s what’s compelling about batman to me. bruce wayne keeps losing and is fighting his own instincts to keep other people from ending up like him.
adam west batman doesn’t come with that baggage. he’s living in a different world, where the point is just pure adventure and justice. adam west batman is there because he wants to believe in a world where every law has a point and a purpose and its getting used correctly. he knows the world around him is ridiculous but never breaks character for a second. there’s a baseline reality there (a term i’m using a lot lately ever since i thought about it in regards to what works about the mcelroys) and he sets it well. i remember adam west batman running along the dock with a bomb more than i could ever remember most mcu fight scenes. and he looks at you with this wry smile and he asks you to acknowledge the utter absurdity of the world with. there’s too many innocent people and “some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb.” he’s holding back the senseless cruelty of the world and he’s doing it with a smile and an assurance that everything is going to be okay. we’re all just doing our best here on this planet. he’s happy you’re here to do it with him.
