I'm procrastinating on reading ACOMAF by reading From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I'm silently begging in my mind that ACOMAF can't be any worse than this. Poppy/Penelaphe (what a stupid name) is as stupid and naive af, Hawke (also a stupid ass name, I've never heard of anyone called Hawke, if so, I apologize to them) is creepy and annoying and the romance was about as interesting as a piece of cardboard. No, wait, it's not only the romance, it's the whole damn book that's boring. There were phrases that would repeat over and over, for example, a description of how "hot" and how "beautiful" Hawke's eyes are, or Hawke saying that Poppy tastes like honeydew (I can't remember if this thing was repeated a lot though and I'm too lazy to check). If I have to listen (since I'm listening to the audiobook of FBAA) ONE MORE F*CKING TIME ABOUT HOW POPPY TASTES LIKE HONEYDEW, I WILL SMASH EVERYTHING IN THE VICINITY. Bitch, I EAT honeydew. Does that mean I've been eating Poppy's vagina all this time? You know what, I'm not going to even think about that, it'd be too weird. Anyhow, I'll try to finish the book anyway since I'm a masochist it seems and also, I don't like leaving books unfinished, no matter how bad the book is. So on we go!
*sigh*
In short, June and July seems to be the month of bad book decisions. I swear, this must be punishment for all the stuff I did in the past. And as a parting word, I ain't trusting GR ratings and reviews and my sister anymore, that shit and my sister was what deluded me into thinking that FBAA was good.

Just finished ACOTAR book 1 and my feelings are pretty mixed. I liked Feyre better than SJM's other female leads (Aelin and Bryce) and Tamlin as well. I did NOT, however, like Rhysand or that ending. Let's address that ending first. One of the reasons I liked Feyre was because unlike Aelin or Bryce, she wasn't the "Most Powerful and Beautiful and Sarcastic and Snarky and Strong Queen of [insert some pretentious as fuck name of some random fantasy kingdom in the book] in like, a hundred million generations (I'm exaggerating now but you get the general idea).
SPOILER ALERT
Unfortunately, towards the end of the book that changed. Feyre received the powers of ALL the high lords and basically became the new Jesus Christ (that's what happened right? I can't really remember any more). Not only that, she turned into a faerie. I was like "Huh?". Why couldn't Feyre have stayed as a human? What beef does SJM have with her characters being human? But I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, no FL in SJM books can be anything LESS than perfect and SpEcIaL. The riddle was stupid too, I thought it would be more, idk, complex? Hard to guess? I literally solved that thing the moment I finished reading it. How could Feyre take such a long time to solve it?? And then we have Rhysand. Before THE scene under the mountain, I tolerated the dude. I mean, he didn't exactly do much except just brood around and trailing starlight. But when I read that fucking scene where he violated Feyre WITHOUT HER CONSENT, I nearly threw my kindle across the room. What's so interesting about this guy? Am I reading a different version of the book from everybody else? Bc this guy is disgusting. Is his appeal like the Darkling's or sth? And that's not the only aggravating thing about this book, another thing I found very annoying was the writing. Maas has a lot of favourite words that are repeated OVER and OVER and OVER. This woman needs an editor because seriously, the repetition was horrible. Here's some of the words I saw constantly: "male", "female", "huffed a laugh", "purred" (Is everybody a cat now? Wait, no. That's insulting towards cats), "incarnate", etc. Also, WHY IS EVERYBODY BEAUTIFUL? Can't there be representation for us ugly people for once?
There're probably more flaws in this book than that, but I didn't see or remember them. All of that aside, I did enjoy this book and would probably read the next one. Hopefully Feyre will grow more brain cells, Maas would get an editor for once and Rhysand burns in hell.

ACOTAR
I'm reading ACOTAR (as in the first book, not the entire trilogy) and it isn't as bad as I expected? Like I expected the main character to be as annoying as Aelin (that's her name right?) but Feyre actually as flaws and insecurities, unlike Queen of Special Snowflakes Aelin. Tamlin isn't bad as well, he reminds me of Chaol in a way (before his character was destroyed :(() but more vicious. Lucien is meh, and Rhysand is pretty underwhelming. People keep saying that he's interesting and stuff but he's pretty boring in my opinion. 3 - 4 stars so far.
