Holy shit, Doechii killed it at Osheaga. Such a good show and she is tireless!! She said at one point, "I really fuck with a show like this". There was less of a stage production, despite the set you see. Sure, she had brought the swamp up north to Montreal, but it was just her and her DJ. No choreography (her 'rap school' set). "It's really about the rap and the hip hop, and I fuck with that."

And it really, really was. You get to experience it more strongly through the versatility in her set: she's just as comfortable spitting lightning quick bars as she is singing a soulful melody, and she manages that from one song to another. And that's when you realise the performing prowess of Doechii: she can do both.

At Osheaga, the focus was on her words, on her command of the crowd, her stage presence, and in a way, a set that definitely set her up well to headline the whole festival next time. This was her first time in Canada at all, and she's back in October to play to 8000 people at Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Did you guys manage to find a picture of Doechii's Osheaga setup? The stage was all trees and leaves and she was on a grassy platform, and she wore a green jersey, brown skirt and brown lace up boots. It was giving swamp safari, and you've gotta love the commitment to the bit! (I'm still going through my pictures to see if I have any that aren't potato quality)

hello! it's funny you’re asking about stage photos from the osheaga festival because earlier today i was actually looking for photos from doechii’s performance at that festival – and i found very few, honestly. nothing from getty images, and neither doechii nor her photographer have posted anything yet. such a shame! the setup looked amazing. i think for this festival run she’s had two stage designs: the “hip hop school” one and the swamp one. i have to admit the swamp setup is my favorite.

hey! hope you’re doing good! so, what she’s wearing on her temples is called "face tape". makeup artists usually use it to give the face a more snatched look, kinda like a lifting effect or something like that. people usually hide it with their hair — and if they’re wearing a wig, it usually goes underneath it. doechii wore face tape during the abnh era as an accessory, ‘cause according to her, it’s cunt.
