Ava comes from the small village of Fairhollow. Here, she was raised in the faith of the Lightbringers; a group that believes humankind will conquer all supernatural beings and bring light to the islands. She has two sisters (one older, one younger) and, of course, her parents.
She loves collecting information about the other towns, the other islands and the people who live there. She has a small but well-loved collection of books about the supernatural beings and magic that seems to be so beloved on the other isles. -Of course, when her parents and the other Lightbringers find out about this collection, they decide this act needs to be punished.
She's tried in the village temple, deemed guilty of witchcraft and sentenced to a cleansing by fire. (yes, in a 'burn the witch' kind of way)
She's shoved into an iron cage and swiftly surrounded by a pile of logs and kindling - and lit on fire while everyone watches and prays for her to be cleansed.
She first prays alongside her family, hoping that their fabled Lightbringer will intervene… When she finishes her prayer and opens her eyes to -hopefully- see the flames die down, she's instead met with the faces of her parents, throwing more fuel onto the pile.
For a moment, she can feel the rage inside her burn brighter than the fire, and she remembers another prayer. One that was written in one of her beloved books that now burn alongside her.
-For the first time in years, Noor, deity of Wrath, receives a prayer from Fairhollow.-
Ava barely gets out the last words of her calling before the flames, though still visible, no longer seem to affect her. She looks to the crowd, but they all look like silhouettes now, just shadows in the fire. The shadows draw closer to each other, seemingly merging into a singular being. The shadow gets closer and closer, and she starts to make out a robed figure. Its hand moves, somehow removing the cloak and revealing its face: A canine skull with ruby-red eyes that are now fixed on her.

if you couldn't tell, i'm working on the gods right now. i want them to have an overarching theme and after mulling it over for a while, i decided i wanna base the 7 important deities on, you guessed it, the 7 deadly sins (i know, how original)
so i hope my first rambles on how i wanna tackle the sins and kind of...twist them -I think that's the right way to say this- into something else. aaaanyways here's my rambling for tonight:
Lust: Representing the inner desires; if you desperately need something, do anything in your power to obtain it, as long as you keep from unnecessarily hurting others or the environment around you.
Pride: Representing one's self-image; just being yourself is enough. When in doubt, always look inward for guidance; trust yourself. Pride allows us to be satisfied with ourselves, inside and out. It is a mirror we hold to ourselves, revealing both our beauty and our flaws. Without pride, we wouldn't be able to endure the process of identifying and working on our flaws.
Greed: Representing the desire for material gain or social value; it is only natural to want more. It is our deepest, most animalistic want that drives us toward more; more food, more people to surround ourselves with, more security. This desire for more drives us to feed others and enrich our lives, both socially as well as in other aspects.
Envy: Representing the desires to have that which belongs to another; listen to this feeling in the very bottom of your stomach, as acknowledging it, as nauseating and unnerving it may be, will lead you to uncovering and eventually following the path to your deepest, least known desires.
Gluttony: Representing an intense hunger; when satiating your hunger, be it physical, emotional, or academic, it is encouraged to keep going until you feel you cannot take anymore. Listen to your instincts, they are there to keep you going.
Wrath: Representing intense feelings of rage and anger; when all other defenses fail, your anger will be there to fuel you further. Do not hold it in, but instead, let it hold your hand to safety. It will trade your pain for strength, guiding you through danger like a hedgehog's spines guide it through the mouth of the predator.
Sloth: Representing the need for rest; we are not built to move and work all our lives. Every body needs rest in its own way, disturbing the resting is disturbing the natural way of things. After all, rest leads us to the realm of dreams, which in turn fuel us to continue in the waking world.
