"i could never love you correctly, adrienne." her own name startles her, as if she'd forgotten she ever went by it. she looks into the apartment. it's wrecked. "all you had to do was care." "i'm here, aren't i?" he finally snaps, freeing himself from her grip and walking back inside. "you threw a tantrum and called the only person you know could handle you, and you're asking if i fucking care?" he busies himself with righting the overturned furniture. she doesn't respond, watching him clean up her mess. it's always like this, isn't it?
