Aelin Stans, I'm waiting.

If you're an Aelin stan feel free to correct me here but I just finished The Assasin's Blade before I start reading Kingdom of Ash. I've hated Aelin since the end of the second book for how she treated Chaol. And everything I've read since has only shown me more what a horrible protagonist she is. And the prequel book cemented it for me fully.

So she hates Chaol and can never ever love or forgive him because he: didn't warn her and her friend died. When a. He didn't think there was any actual danger and b. Her friend knew she was going to die and sacrificed herself willingly.

She physically attacked a man that had made a simple mistake, permanently scarring him and making him feel worthless when he's already a victim of abuse from his father. And this obviously infuriated me at the time but after reading the prequel book I'm even angrier bc she's such a hypocrite! She killed innocent people under orders all the time. She could have looked into who she was killing or thought for herself at any time since she fancies herself such a good person and judge of character but she didn't. She just killed on command. So how does that make her such a better person than Chaol who would never kill an innocent person. And how does that put her in any position to ever judge him??

Furthermore, she lets Sam go alone to kill the crime boss which results in his death. But she has the audacity to judge Chaol for leaving Dorian in the castle. When Dorian was begging Chaol to leave. It's the same situation but only Chaol is a horrible person? Chaol had to leave in order to help. Him dying there too would have done no good.

Ohh and what's up with how jealous and petty she is to Lysandra?? She's a child sold into s*xual slavery and you're not only going to throw that in her face but you're jealous of her relationship to two different men in your life?? That's disgusting! I can't believe anyone could like Aelin after that.

Not to mention that this is now Aelin's THIRD enemies to lovers story. Like I'm sorry Sam but you're even more boring than Rowan and I thought I'd never meet a more boring male love interest than him, certainly not so soon. At any rate he was as annoying as Aelin and they should have just both died.

I'd love to see yall try to explain to me how anything Chaol did was worse than what Aelin has done. She's a cold-blooded murderer with barely a scrap of guilt, a misogynistic spoiled b*tch, an absolute raging hypocrite. Just the worst FMC I've ever read in my life. I'm finishing this series solely for the other characters and stories at this point. I already know she gets a happy ending but I honestly wish she wouldn't.
