After you do write a book, how would you go about publishing it? Should you buy an ISBN? Do you need to buy one?

To read or not to read romance novels- is that even a question?
‘So, tell me something about you. What do you like to do for fun?’
When getting to know people, inevitably this question gets thrown around in one way or another. Usually, people have a script of things that they run through: I like to two-step. I like to sing at the top of my lungs while driving in my car. I like to travel. I go to the gun range on my days off. I play disc golf... Those are all wonderful hobbies and are good conversational starters and openings, but for me, I love romance novels. I am a shameless love junkie. There is nothing better than sitting by the pool on a warm day and diving into a book. My husband likes to joke with me that he doesn’t consider hammocking and reading smut novels active pastimes. He may have a point... but we all have our vices.
Due to the Fifty Shades of Grey craze, there has been more interest in romance novels lately. But after watching a horrible Jimmy Kimmel segment on social media regarding reading in the United States (and how little people read or know about different authors), I decided that it may be time to start educating the masses.
While I do have my favorite types of romance novels, I can appreciate all of the different sub-categories of romance. I thought that today I would try to share a list of some of my favorites in hopes that one of my fellow romance junkies is in need of a new series to dive into! Or, if this is your first experience with romance novels- you will most definitely be started out on the right foot.
1. Kresley Cole- Immortals After Dark Series
2. Maya Banks- The KGI Series or The Breathless Trilogy
3. Penny Reid- Knitting in the City Series
4. Lora Leigh- The Breeds Series
5. J.R. Ward- The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series
6. Kristen Ashley- Rock Chicks Series or The Dream Man Series
7. Mia Knight- Crime Lord Series
8. Jodi Ellen Malpas- This Man Series
9. Meghan March- The Mount Trilogy followed by The Savage Trilogy Series
10. Joanna Wylde- Reapers Motorcycle Club Series
I think that this list has a little bit of everything. You’ve got your paranormal romances (both vampire and shifters), your alpha male romances, your motorcycle club romances, your smart romances, your romantic suspense, kick-ass women romances, and bad boy romances. We all would like to be swept off our feet deep down and these men certainly do the trick for me!
Be on the lookout for a new romance author coming down the pipeline- hopefully one day she will make it on to your favorite author list.
“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.” -George R. R. Martin
If you make it through this list- message me and let me know what you think and share with me other authors that have swept you away. If you love these authors, I’ll gladly make you another.
- D.M. Craft
