I draw mostly digital and pixelart in my spare time. I'm taking Art 141 to improve my art skills and familiarize myself with the programs. I'd like to make my own animation one day. I'm also interested in working in the video game industry.

Final animation + Critique response
I had almost no direction with my animation, I kept trying to start over and do something different each time and I just worked on the beach to pass time. I wanted to have a fighting game with movement and attack animations but I was too ambitious and could only animate idle animations and clean it up to meet the deadline. I’m glad it was well received. I’m happy the angle changing movement was noticeable. I paid close attention to animation sprites and I made sure to change the shading and the shapes of the woman’s limbs to capture movement and a twisting moment. Originally intended the pickle to have glowing spiky hair, a cape and it would blast some wort of energy beam. I also thought to just have the woman endlessly jab the pickle in a loop. The original beach was much bigger but to account for the character sizes I ended up using Photoshop to take parts from the original to make the smaller iteration.

GIF WIP
I remembered the arcade game I put in the animation I did in adobe illustrator and I thought about making a startup demo for the game. I took alot of inspiration from the backgrounds in the arcade versions of various Street fighter games.

Movie Poster Critique Response
I was very happy with the response, I was hoping I could make something people would want to see. I just wish I had better artistic skills when it comes to drawing. I’ve never drawn human heads and colored them before, so it took the most of my time. As usual it came out darker when printed, so I should have applied a filter to make everything brighter. It would have benefited my poster if I had the text under the logo be brighter as well. I think I could have improved the filter I used on the buildings to look more like tv static. I think I should have used a green grid pattern on the buildings and added more to the blank purple area around the bottom half of the poster. Perhaps I should have removed the little triangle above the Y in my logo. My buildings could use some lines to show windows and better details, even logos.

Gif Research
I want do a sprite gif animation reminiscent of video game sprites. I want a character to perform an animation either for being idle or performing an action.
Paul Robertson, an artist I follow on tumblr made these three sprites, top two for the delisted Scott Pilgrim vs the world game and the third one for the show gravity falls.
This one is from Metal Slug owned by SNK
These two are from various Sonic Games owned by Sega
This is one is from Megaman X owned by Capcom

Movie Poster WIP update
I added my adobe illustrator logotype with glow effects and I used multiple layers to draw the heads with the brush tools and I added shading. I do not intend to use these names these are just placeholders. I need to scan something for the buildings and the robot head. Since my movie is intended to be animated I drew the heads.

Movie Poster Work in Progress
I decided to go with the title Synergy. Somehow I need to insert the characters. The SYN letters will be the company’s logo

Research
I took these movie posters from google that belong to the companies that own these movies. I chose this poster because of the way the main character is the center of attention and you notice his surroundings have details that hint of what you can expect to see in the movie. You can see the forces the main character will have to face, but he has a smirk of confidence.
I chose this because it’s simple but it’s still enticing. Like the previous poster this one is odne in traditional painting and it’s beautiful. You only see the main characters and a fire, but it makes you curious about the adventure they’ll have.
I like the futuristic setting that surrounds the main character and the details on her body that tell you she’s inhuman. She looks like a threat that’s about to face opposition in this city and I’d want to see this movie.
The tagline and ambiguous egg make me curious to what happens in this movie. I like the grid ground that gives a sense of distance to the egg. I want to implement a tagline that would remembered from the 80′s much like many movies of that era.
I like the 80′s cyberpunk look of the terminator here. He looks almost completely human until you notice the digital text on his glasses. The Leather , sunglasses, and scoped gun go well together and look menacing and precise.
I want to include a city in the background of my poster however I want to emphasize one building in particular that is my main character’s opposing force. I’m debating whether or not I want a full body shot or a blur fade of the character’s faces like in this poster.
This poster is very similar to blade runners, except it looks more dystopian. I want to incorporate dystopian complexes and outskirts to my city in the poster I’m making. The poster has glimpses of characters and threats involved, however I want to place them as if they’re with the main character.

Movie Poster Idea
My movie is titled Synergy. My movie is a cyberpunk science fiction action thriller. I like science fiction movies that take place in a future that despite having nonexistant technology, it still grounded in reality and seems like a believable future. It’s meant to be a R rated adult animated movie. My movie and poster is meant to attract adults who like science fiction and action movies. My movie will take place in New Los Angeles in the future of 30XX. A lone cyborg roams the city, having lost all memory of his past human life, so he learns and adapts through his interactions with humans. He is a product of Synergy Synthetics that specializes in robotics, and bionics. The company follows the trope of evil corporations putting their own interests above everyone else. Robots are common and live among citizens mostly as assistants. The company usually makes robots, enhancements for humans, and Android robots coated with synthetic organic material, but never a human fully converted into a cyborg. He and one other cyborg are the company’s first attempts at making human conversion cyborgs that were meant to be kept secret. The company is desperate to severe any ties that trace back to them so they try to eliminate the two cyborgs using their assets and hired outside assistance. While the city may be populated and dangerous, it’s safer than the underground living complexes and the outlands surrounding the far outskirts of the city.
