My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising It seems that a movie from a very popular Japanese anime that is set in the not to distant future of the currently running show is in and of itself a spoiler. My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising takes place on the isolated island of Naboo, where the young heroes are alone, without any pro heroes to chaperone, because of the decision of a not so wise government agency, (Although “wise government” is a contradiction in terms) The Hero Commission. Who would leave a bunch of high school kids, heroes or not, alone on an island? #myheroacademia #heroesrisingmovie #todoroki #bakugoukatsuki #deku #anime https://www.instagram.com/p/B9SXBbtHnDj/?igshid=18ur4bsxcqat7

“Suddenly, You Were Gone” My heart is broken and my soul aches. Neil Peart was so much more than just masterful drummer and exceptional lyricist for Rush. Neil Peart demonstrated in no uncertain terms that it was a worthy endeavor to get lost in a book, even if just alleviate boredom. For me, he was a gateway drug. He was my gateway to Ayn Rand and from there into greater philosophy. The impact he made on my life, and certainly many others, is immeasurable. One reason that Neil Peart became iconic was because he never cared what others thought, of him, his band’s direction or his views on life. He and the band would get appalled when they were told to change their ways and music to adapt more to mainstream appeals. He didn’t want to be like others, nor did he want others to be like him other than in his drive for excellence. In everything he did in his multi-faceted life, whether drumming, lyric writing, authoring many books just in his bicycle/motorcycling adventure rides, he did it with hard work and excelled to do the best he could. His life was the very definition of the practice of individualism. There is no way to describe the pain and loss. Even though he was not known personally, still, it feels like a family member is gone. He was a very prominent idol of my youth and, without ever meeting me, wrote the soundtrack of my life. Most other rock lyrics were puddles compared to Neil’s oceans. My life and the music within it will never be the same again. Vapor Trail Lyrics by Peart Stratospheric traces of our transitory flight Trails of condensation held In narrow bands of white The sun is turning black The world is turning gray All the stars fade from the night The oceans drain away Horizon to Horizon Memory written on the wind Fading away, like an hourglass, grain by grain Swept away like voices in a hurricane In a vapor trail Atmospheric phases make the transitory last Vaporize the memories that freeze the fading past Silence all the songbirds Stilled by the killing frost Forests burn to ashes Everything is lost Washed away like footprints in the rain In a vapor trail #rush #rushband #neilpeart https://www.instagram.com/p/B7UAvH3nDZY/?igshid=1n7msu4c8mmfu

Chains of Reason Podcast - Episode 8 - “My Hero Academia” In this episode, we tap into pop-culture with a discussion about the Japanese anime "My Hero Academia." Considering our past topics, this is a light topic but, still, we do link some "chains of reason" to it with a little discussion about the morality of a world where 80% of the people possess some kind of "quirk" or superpower.  Plus Ultra! #myheroacademia #plusultra #podcast https://www.instagram.com/p/B4AAGuBnkZN/?igshid=1d99vrf6kb7lq

Chains of Reason Podcast - Episode 6 - “Climate Change” "Is climate change real?" is not the correct question. The correct question is, "What is the meaning and/or magnitude of climate change?" In his episode we discuss the morality of the climate change movement, how it is an anti-capitalist, anti-prosperity, de-growth movement based more on emotions than facts. #climatechange #morality #globalwarming https://www.instagram.com/p/B3atHKwHkyN/?igshid=18yrwlp0uqxye
