me being myself, ive written an extensive au for this mess of a family in my head that changes everything, but i only have random snippets of it on paper 😅

rundown is that kazuya doesnt die/whatever at the end of tk2 thanks to jun and lee, and once jun disappears fighting ogre, kazuya and lee take over caring for jin instead of heihachi. things go wild from there, and kazuya has the character arc of a lifetime hehe. if im extremely lucky, maybe ill get an actual fic from it lol (cause im going insane)

this screenshot tho… i wonder if this place could be jin’s psyche? because notice how it’s filled with chains (like dj) but the chains are actually evaporating. this could be jun taking away the devil gene from jin, or at the very least - repelling it.

I’ve been theorizing about who this could be as well since I also don’t think that this is Jun’s hand here. But I had actually not considered that this could be DJ, but seeing the comparison you made that is now my main theory as well.

I guess Jin and DJ finding common ground in their hatred for Kazuya would be a good reason for them to finally team up, or maybe Jun makes them team up somehow?

This is also interesting since we’ve never seen the two of them actually interact with each other before so we don’t really know what their internal dynamic is like. But since this is very clearly taking place in Jin’s mind it would be the perfect time to show us more of how the two of them interact, anything that explains more about how the devil gene works would be greatly appreciated lol.

yeah, the hand reaching out is DEFINITELY “jin’s.” especially since it’s coming out of the very shadowy shaped DJ. which means DJ’s very likely NOT out of the game.

especially as jin seems surprised here with his eyes slightly widening. and his mouth slightly gaping. so yeah, it’s very likely that jin died or nearly died in a struggle against kazuya or something, and DJ brings him back from the dead - especially with what jin said here.

interesting that dj’s hands are just jin’s, and not the typical talons - i wonder if it’s just a redesign or… maybe if it means anything? maybe we’ll see the talons later. after all, he seems to be “saving” jin here - so therefore, maybe he��d present a “softer hand” to show he means no threat rather than his usual, sharp aggressive one.

it’s  actually  amazing  how  fast  dj  got  up  after  jin  died.  it’s  one  thing  had  jin  been  shot  several  times  in  the  torso.  but  dude  was  literally  shot  straight  in  the  head.  like,  that  had  to  not  just  severely  damage  his  skull,  but  his  brain  as  well.

which,  is  also  likely  why  dj  had  such  an  animalistic  response  upon  first  awakening  -  since  i  imagined  he  was  in  a  lot  of  pain  -  suddenly  gaining  consciousness  for  the  first  time  ever,  and  his  host’s  body  is  literally  riddled  with  bullets.  hence,  why  he  didn’t  kill  heihachi  then  and  there  because  he  was  more  focused  on  just  fleeing,  and  living.

Theory time:

Okay so! One of the things I noticed in the trailer:

It might just be the lighting BUT:

To me it looks like the glove on the hand that reaches out for Jin of fingerless, while the gloves Jun wears aren't!

And what does this mean? I have a few guesses:

This is actually Asuka and NOT Jun (this would kinda make sense too since Asuka always wears fingerless gloves in the games) That way she would also get to be relevant to the main story since her powers to repel the devil gene have been teased before.

Though we have yet to see her outfit if she even makes it to TK8 now that Jun is back and their fighting styles are very similar...

This is Angel, who also makes a return after only being in spinoff games since TK2 (like Jun). I base this idea on the fact that the shape in the water looks like it has wings:

This is a very clear parallel to Unkown's TTT2 ending, where Angel appears in a similar way.

And last but not least: this is also Jun the just gave her different outfits.

YEAH BABY!!!!

I just made a post about it and I have very mixed feelings about it all. Cause it looks amazing! And we FINALLY get to see Jun again!

But it also looks like Jin is just in full control of the Devil Gene now, which means no more DJ :,(

Jin looks so gorgeous and badass! But I can't help but feel sad that DJ might be gone forever. So while I'm super hyped for the story, and I think the game looks amazing, I can't help but feel a bit sad too...

But don't let that hold you guys back, I'm still mostly hyped and happy about the new trailer, I just need some time to get used to My Boy not being around anymore <3
