Not only are the Scholomance books the only ones I've really laughed out loud at since Gideon and Harrow the Ninth (multiple times even), but they're also built around a surprisingly cohesive and thoughtful class analysis - where the upper class is represented as a series of powerful wizarding enclaves, the largest of which are concentrated in NYC and London, who work largely to protect their own people from being eaten alive and damn all the rest. The analogy to dystopian capitalism is purposeful and effective. Being born into an enclave doesn't make life automatically easy, but it does grant some rather extraordinary, deeply unfair advantages in the "not being eaten by mana-hungry monsters" rat race over those who aren't. The series is really perceptive about those with privilege often being wholly un-self-aware and willfully blind to it, too.
