deciding to take a new lane in her career with managing artists, JANET JACKSON made a music industry announcement that she was forming a teen pop girl group in september of 2009. the announcement called for talent scots, managers, and a&rs to bring forth their most promising prospects who showed potential in stage-presence, charisma and performance abilities. over 400 girls applies and of the 150 who auditioned, five wereย chosen making up THE ORIGINAL lineup. the quintet then spent the next three months building group chemistry, in media training, practicing rigorous dance routines, recording demos and attending virtual schools under jacksonโs orders. the goal was to mold the group into an act that would be signed without hesitation from any label president.ย

the bratz were signed to ARISTA RECORDS and released their debut single MAKE YOU WANNA DANCE in early 2010; it went top ten in 17 countries and commenced their global success. their debut album XPRESSIT! ( 2010 ) sold more than 12 million copies worldwide and spawned four top ten singles. their target audience; pre-teen girls became fascinated with the groupโs sisterhood, dance styles and fashion; curated by HAYDEN WILLIAMS and began imitating outfits from the members. their fanbase: the DOLLS grew rapidly over twitterย their follow-up album, FLAUNTIT! ( 2011 ) was also a commercial success selling over 7 million copies worldwide but didnโt meet the same success of the first. at the end of the year they announced plans to change up their sound and try a rock album. the album was initially called ROCK ANGELZ and would coincide with a movie starring the group of the same name. the label however did not approve of the groupโs genre-switch and wanted another commercial pop album. in may 2012, the group released STRUTIT!, the last album with all original members. the album coincided with their movie BRATZ: FOREVER DIAMONDZย which grossed $145 million worldwide. the album sold an additional 15 million worldwide and included some of the groups most commercial singles โoooh fashionโ โhang onโ and โexpress yourselfโ. in october 2012, CLEO announced she wouldnโt be continuing her career as a member of group. in december of the same year, it was announced AUDRIELLA would also be leaving the group to focus on a solo career. both members received mass-cyber bullying including death threats and stalking following this. the group announced a small hiatus to rebrand the group in regards to their foreseeable future, pointing out the group was not disbanding.

in the fall of 2013, the bratz returned without cleo, audriella and chanelle. theyโd also lost janet jackson: the founder and manager of the group due to creative differences with artistaโs president lilโ kim. under the new management of JENNIFER LOPEZ, their was also rumored conflict with lopez and kim over the image of the group. lopez wanted to mature their brand to their aging audience but kim did not want to parental controversy and a loss of marketability for the group. the new lineups first project, STEP OUT EP! was released in october 2013. though the EP sold 4 million worldwide and spawned three top twenty hits, it was a commercial disappointment for the groups standards. the group then went silent for a few years, with rumors of issues not only with the record label, but lack of chemistry between the members. after a full image change, the group returned in fall 2015 with WORTH IT which would go on to top the charts in 23 countries including the us and the uk and sell over 19 million copies worldwide. adapting a more provocative and trendy sound/image aimed at older teens and young adults; the new era was met with controversy but proved successful. they released their fourth studio album MIRROR MIRROR in january 2016 which would become the groupโs most successful album selling over 22 million copies worldwide and spawning several hits including SLEDGEHAMMER, REFLECTION and BO$$. the album marker their commercial comeback to mainstream audiences, proving many wrong who wrote the group off as a fad.

coming off their most successful tour yet, the group followed up with their fifth album, releasing POP ANGELS in may 2018. the album was another success, selling 17 million copies worldwide and spawning their most successful to date WORK FROM HOME which sold 24 million copies worldwide as well as chart-toppers ALL IN MY HEAD (FLEX) and NOT THAT KINDA GIRL. the albumโs title was met with scrutiny from former member CLEO who had came up with the idea for the shelved ROCK ANGELZ leading to a twitter dispute between her and members CHRISSY and VALENTINA. following the end of the DOLLHOUSE tour in 2019, SABRINA announced a departure from the group, another subject of controversy as her statement and the groupโs official statements conflicted one another. SABRINA stated the members were aware she was planning to leave the group and the GROUP stated theyโd tried to sit down with her multiple times and described her as difficult to work withย โsince the beginningโ. the groupโs final album GLIMMER was released in 2020, selling an estimated 10 million worldwide and spawning DOWN. drama always following the group, leaked audio of DANIELLA and DIVINA discussing the poor working conditions and lack of creative control theyโd been under for years spread in may 2020. intense work pressure, extreme media scrutiny, and online bullying were also discussed in the audio. before the start of the GLIMMER WORLD TOUR;ย they announced the album and tour would be their last before BRATZ officially disbanded after ten years.ย

Muse A has been an aspiring musician for years. They have finally hit it big; their music quickly climbing the charts, labels scrambling to sign them, screaming fans waiting outside venues. Muse A meets DIVINAย at an industry event, and the two hit it off immediately. Muse A invites DIVINAย out after the event, and they end up going home together afterward. As they continue to bump into one another at industry events over the next few weeks, the pair decides to act on their chemistry and try dating. It isnโt long before they start to fall for each other, but Muse Aโs rising fame sweeps them up, leaving DIVINA, (whoโs still stuck in her girl group contract)ย behind while Muse A travels the world. DIVINAย does their best to deal with the distance and the insecurities that come along with dating a musician but, they finally reach their limit when a photo surfaces of Muse A kissing a fan after a show. Muse A expresses regret about the incident, but canโt promise that theyโll be 100% faithful while on tour. After a difficult talk, the two agree that they shouldnโt be together right now, and theyโll just have to see what happens when the tour is over. Now, the tour is over and when itโs time for Muse A to write their sophomore album, nothing is more inspiring than their relationship with DIVINA. Their first single is released and itโs a break-up song thatโs all about missing Muse B. This doesnโt sit well with DIVINA, whoโs now signed as a solo artist and doesnโt want their relationship tainting her new path of a career.

DIVINA has recently signed her own solo deal and is on the cusp of breaking into the big time as a solo artist. She has her loyal following from the group that she loves dearly, but their lifelong dream has always been to be a major headliner and to see her name lit up on the marquis of the biggest venues. Muse B is a well-known artist who is also a talent manager, looking for a new artist to lend their skills and expertise to. Muse B attends one of DIVINAโs promotional shows one night and is absolutely blown away by their magnetism and raw talent. After the show, Muse B introduces themselves to DIVINAย and makes it known that they are very interested in working with them. DIVINA isnโt sure at first. They donโt want to be constantly told what to do or play and Muse B doesnโt have the sharpest personal reputation. The pair spend time together, share a few stories, their dreams and aspirations and begin to hit it off really well. Muse B offers their services, but DIVINA is hesitant to accept, even though this may be what she really needs to establish herself outside of her girl group image. After a bit of persuading and a few more meetings, DIVINA finally agrees. Muse B utilizes every resource they have to propel DIVINA into stardom. As DIVINA gets closer and closer to achieving A-list status, Muse B steers her towards more questionable behaviors (alcohol, drugs, outbursts, etc.) in order to get additional publicity and headlines. When she refuses, she begins to see a more vile side of Muse B who threatens to completely derail her career if she doesnโt take their orders.ย

Muse A and DIVINA are in a lowkey โsituationshipโ. DIVINA is embarking on her first national tour as an opening act. Muse A has been close friends with DIVINA since she was seventeen and theyโve been one of her biggest supporters in the industry. The pair have decided to continue โtalkingโ despite DIVINA leaving to tour. Though they talk over video chat and text almost every day, itโs just not the same as them being in the same room together. After the first leg of apart, DIVINAโs chats are getting shorter and Muse Aโs calls go to their voicemail more frequently. It makes Muse A curious, especially because of publicity showing DIVINAย and MUSE C; another artist touring with DIVINA who has openly expressed being romantically interested in her, growing questionably closer. When one particularย video of DIVINA and MUSE C cozied up together surfaces and Muse A canโt get in contact with with DIVINA for explanation; Muse A is deeply angered after assuming the worst. Enters Muse D, who is both DIVINAโs best friend and a collaborator of Muse A. When Muse D encounters Muse A, someone theyโve secretly cared for as more than friends, who is noticeably upset over DIVINAโs questionable behavior, Muse D takes the opportunity theyโve been waiting for. Muse Dย offers themselves as a confidant to Muse A, purposely fanning the flames of Muse Aโs suspicion and hurt to encourage Muse A to forget about DIVINA and open their eyes to whatโs right in front of them โ a person whoโd never do them how DIVINA was. Muse A gradually listens to Muse D and a relationship begins to blossom between the two of them. What happens when DIVINA has a break between tour dates and surprises Muse A back in L.A.?

DIVINA is offered a song by a prominent producer in the industry, the same song Muse A has already recorded and has prepared for their next release. DIVINA loves the song so much she decides to record it and prepare to release it as her lead. Once industry bugs begin getting to Muse A, they realize the song they had recorded is now about to pushed by a different artist. Of course, the producer does not disclose they offered DIVINA the song and Muse A believes DIVINA and her team made a shady business move and stole the song from under her. Muse Aโs first instinct is to blast DIVINA on social media but she decides to simply record more music and put her lead out on the same date as DIVINAโs lead.ย The timing of the singles mean interviews, music videos and award show performances will all be align around the same team which ultimately turns into a social media feud assumption and a whole lot of comparisons as both songs compete for the higher Billboard position. When asked about this in an interview Muse A is noticeably passive-aggressive and shady towards DIVINA, who still isnโt aware of the issue. Things only boil swifter when DIVINA deliverโs a very shady acceptance speech when she wins an award over Muse A for the song.ย
