So like... if you take out the parts re: the wind, the Knight's flavor text sounds like a panic attack.

I think Kris is literally having a panic attack facing the Knight. That's why they don't do very well until their friends are down, giving them something to fight for. That's why they smile when they close their eyes: because they're handing it off to us. They don't want to even have to LOOK at the Knight.

It's not some kayfabe. They're not throwing the fight. Kris is legitimately terrified of the Knight.
