Clem is also apparently a shape shifting mutant and someone told Warren about the store, maybe the same person that gave him the fake legs?

You know Warren sees this shelltered (heh) kid and has to introduce the Santiagos to this world.

It is canon that whatever happened during Ron’s mutation into Hypno caused Doug to pass. Maybe the mutation was too much for Hypno and he went into a mutation caused rage, maybe he did some damage to the stage and Doug got hurt, maybe animal control was called.

Doug, who was the only other constant in this Leo’s life, was gone.

And Ron was no longer human.

Their lives were torn apart and flipped upside down because of a single glowing bug

Growing up in the junkyard has given Donnie plenty of materials and a love of the rustic. They don’t care as much about being neat and tidy with their tech as canon Donnie and you can tell it’s been scrapped together usually. They are very proud of that though. They made something incredible from wasteful human’s leftovers, their throwaways.

Donnie also gets to socialise more than with a couple of people. Perks of meeting the Mutant Society and visiting Mutant Square to work and shop for a few years. Donnie doesn’t like it, but it’s better than no socialisation. It’s not like they’ve grown up with siblings.

Mikey and Raph may fight a lot, but they care for each other and can have crazy fun.

Leo... Leo lives in an apartment in NYC. He doesn’t get to do much more than go to the rooftop once he’s too big for Ron to sneak to shows. He’s completely socially reliant on his dads (Ron and the hippo Doug) and Kyo, once they meet.

Leo is very open to talking to new people as a result.

I don’t know if I’ve spoken about disaster dads au here yet and even if I have, it’s been a while. Basically, Leo is adopted as a baby by a human called Ron and his hippo assistant Doug and Donnie is adopted at age 4 by a human that owns a junkyard called Spencer. So this is about Ron being mutated into Hypno in this au

Warnings for animal death and you know, mutation causing pain etc

“DAD! PAPA!”

Ron could hear his son’s screams and cries for him and Doug. He wants to wrap him up in a big embrace, tell him that it’s okay, everything will be fine, but Leo isn’t the one feeling his whole body contort.

Not now, anyway.

So Ron screams.

And he wants to pass out, so much, but he refuses to. He has to make sure his boy is alright, that the glowing bug didn’t get him too.

Then the pain begins to fade and Ron can think again.

And Leo is sobbing.

And Doug... Doug isn’t moving...

And Ron’s hands aren’t his own, but they still do the job of holding his son close as he sobs.

What’s the disaster dads au about?

It started with me staring at Tutant’s magic Leo au and falling in love with Leo and Hypno friendship. The au has developed into baby Leo (who was born female and Ron/Hypno called Venus) was found by Ron (Hypno before he was mutated) so he grows up with just his two dads who are friends coparenting, Ron and Doug the Hippo. Plus, Donnie ends up in Repo’s junkyard when they are four and gets adopted by Spencer (Repo before he was mutated), leaving Mikey and Raph to be raised by Splinter.

Raph doesn’t know about Leo, but he remembers Donnie and is super protective of Mikey. Mikey is a big rebel and actually meets Donnie a few years later. They are besties. Leo actually meets Donnie first because their dads meet because of the ELoM and Leo happened to be with his dad when the portal opened. I’m writing for the au so I do hope to get something out soon! Maybe once my Voltron series finishes

Mrs. Nubbins makes sure her human and turtle eat before the whole... mutation thing

Leo hears tapping on the window one night and is worried but it’s just an injured pigeon! Kyo is Leo’s best (and only for a long time) friend

Leo is ftm! Ron (Hypno) calls him Venus when he is younger until he tells Ron and Ron is very supportive of him

Donnie and Mikey are best friends! Mikey sneaks out to visit Donnie all the time (without knowing this is his sibling)

Raph knows that he once had two younger siblings, but not three

“It’s okay,” Ron coos, reaching in to grab the wriggling mass (so small, how young is this kid?), “I gotcha.”

The mass fits in the palm of Ron’s hand and he unwraps the blue fabric and oh-

Heh. He and Doug aren’t the weirdest things in NYC anymore.

Some important little details for this au:

Leo is ftm, originally named Venus. I actually started researching and I found out about this show called The Magicians with this blade called the Leo Blade that can affect reality or something? It was a while ago XD but Leo loves the show and decided to use the name Leo because he’s a dork like that

Donnie use they/them pronouns and has a very supportive sister figure in his life (even if she is also a jerk at times). No, it is not April or Casey

Draxum has been experimenting for years and his mutants have created their own society. Spencer (or Repo) was one of the experiments a few years before two turtles and a human accidentally release the oozesquitos. After all, Todd hadn’t made a payment in two years

Mikey will not hesitate to insult you if you insult him

Raph has bags with all of Donnie’s old stuff hidden in his room. Mikey has no idea

Hi everyone! Welcome to the disaster dads au blog! I’ve been working on this au a bunch over the past few months and decided to start talking about it because why not? I’m working on a fic right now for it!

This au is a separated au where the twins have their own separate dads.

During the early days of being so swamped by everything, Splinter accidentally leaves a baby mutant red eared slider in a cardboard box where a human by the name of Ron Santiago stumbles across what he was expecting to be an abandoned baby, unfortunately.

That little slider turned his life upside down, just like his later mutation into a certain Hypnopotamus.

Splinter would move on the best he could, trying to keep it together and raise his three remaining children he hadn’t failed.

He would fail once more.

At age four, Donnie is lost and the family of four becomes a family of three, left to pick up the pieces.

Little Donnie is a resourceful kid and ends up finding their way to a junkyard and is taken in by Spencer Manfred, a man who would later become a mutant mantis.

As much as the two bicker, there is no denying they love each other.

In the end, with the lives each family leads, it was only a matter of time until the four siblings would be reunited.
