Second Hand Goods Register by draylson
"The Second Hand Goods Register allows your Sim to sell any object from the Sims' Inventory and Family Inventory, including some annoying objects that cannot normally be sold, such as certificates, diplomas, imaginary friend dolls, dead Sim/pet remains, among others.
The cash register is a clone of the General Register and is available among the other community objects, in the community lot build mode. Similar to the other cash registers, simply place it on a community lot, and a Second Hand Goods Merchant will be assigned to it.
When clicking on the Second Hand Goods Register and choosing the "Sell items" interaction, the Sim will interact with the Merchant and the Shopping Dialog will open. In the "Shop" tab, at least 20 second hand objects will be available for purchase, with values compatible with their depreciation level, simulating objects sold by other Sims to the Merchant. These objects are randomly selected from all the objects in the base game, expansions, stuff packs and custom content that are installed. The depreciation level of each of these objects is also set randomly.
In the "Sell" tab, all objects from the Sim's Inventory and Family Inventory will be available to be sold. The sale price of an object is 80% of its value, since the Merchant will have up to 20% profit on their resale.
When interacting again with the Second Hand Goods Register through the "Sell items" interaction, the items sold by your Sim will now be available for purchase in the "Shop" tab. If an item sold had a value of $0, it is characterized as a donation and will not be available for purchase.
Every day, an object is removed from the list, simulating the purchase of an object by another Sim. If the list of objects available for purchase falls below 20, another object is randomly added. However, this list is not saved with the game, that is, if you reload the world, a new list of objects for purchase is created.

Snowflake Day Tree + Activities
**Update: Thanks so much to @zemyna who let me know about the issue with adding your custom decorations. That's been fixed so please redownload the MAIN file and tree object file. She also let me know about these gorgeous tree ornament conversions from @martassimsbook which you can find here. They fit perfectly on the tree and look great. I've added an updated XML for anyone who wants to use them here. Just download the file and drag it into the MAIN file to overwrite the default one.
I also added the option to change the design presets for decorations (if they have them) so you don't have to go into CAST if you want to change the color. **Update
I actually started to make this two years ago and forgot about it but then I got the idea to do it again and remembered that I had already written most of the code. It was sort of like finding money in your pocket you'd forgotten about. 😂
Much like in real life, I prefer to spend my holidays in-game with family instead of randoms and I just want to open presents without having to throw a Gift Giving party. So I made a Christmas Snowflake Day tree to do that where you can decorate and add gifts to open on Snowflake Day.
I also added some holiday activities for kids and toddlers if you have the More Activities Activity Table. It's an add-on so you need that mod (and whatever requirements go with it) if you don't already.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
More info after the cut
Decorate the Tree (this is meant as a joinable group activity so you can invite others to join; up to 4 Sims (child+) can decorate)
Add Tree Topper (if you have any)
Hang Ornaments (if you have any)
Turn On/Off Lights (if decorated)
Admire Ornaments (sims may get a nice holiday moodlet - Holiday Memories buff)
Add Gift for…
Look at Presents (get information on how many gifts are under the tree and to whom)
Steal Presents (only for Klepto, rebellious, Evil, Mean-spirited; you will get in trouble if someone sees)
Sneak a Peek at Presents - to check out any of your gifts
Invite Everyone to Open Presents - for Snowflake Day, brings everyone on the lot to open gifts under the tree; if someone doesn’t have gifts, they will watch others open presents and if they are in the household they will get a sad buff. Gifts improve relationship score if Sims like it; does nothing if they don’t but if they get too many gifts they don’t like, they can complain about it.
Open Gifts - self explanatory. If you don’t want to gather everyone together, you can open gifts at any time on Snowflake Day. Depending on how many gifts you like/don't like, you will get a special moonlet (Feeling Grateful/Bummer Holiday)
Take Down Decorations
Put Away Tree
Sims can also:
Ask for holiday presents…Toy | Book | Vehicle | Computer | Electronics | Jewelry | Decor | Hobby Object | Sports Object
This is a one-time interaction that Sims can use on any family or household member. If a sim gets what they asked for, they will get a special buff (Just What I Wanted)
Thank for Presents (if they had a particularly good Snowflake Day)
Complain about Presents (if they had a bad one)
With the MAAT add-on, children and toddlers can also:
Make handmade ornaments and hang them on the tree. The ornaments can be stored in the decorations box.
Make handmade Snowflake Day cards for friends and family (kids only). You can give them directly to Sims or put them under the tree as a gift.
Notes and Recommendations:
To be able to utilize all the tree features, make sure there is enough space around the entire tree for Sims to gather and interact with the tree
Your Sims need to have a giftable object in their personal or household inventory to add a present to the tree
When a Sim has asked for a gift, the game checks whether any of the gifts they receive are in the same buy subcategory or object type as what they asked for so if, as example, a kid asks for a toy and you get them a cc toy that is categorized as a plant or deco object in the game, it’s not going to count.
To gift jewelry, you need the TS3 Store Jewelry Machine or any custom wearable jewelry objects that is the same object type as the Store Jewelry box object
If you don't have my activities table mod and don't want it, then don't download the two MAAT files.
Requires Generations, Showtime (actually I don't think you need Showtime. I think I wanted to use something from it but then didn't but I'm sure one of you will confirm for me 😭) and Seasons
Details and Instructions:
The tree and box can be purchased in the Entertainment/Hobbies Section (300 and 200, respectively), the tree topper in the Misc Deco (90) or they can all be found in the custom Snowflake Day collection file.
To decorate the tree, your Sim needs both the tree object and the decorations box. Custom ornaments and tree toppers go into the decorations box.
The tree comes with a default decoration but you can create and add your own tree decorations. The file has an XML (HolidayTreeDecorations) where you can add the Resource Key, Group ID for the OBJD of the decoration, whatever name you want to call it, whether you want it to light up or not, and the image (if you don’t want a custom image, just use the default one in my first entry).
Credits: Meshes by EA, tree deco is from Coral Island (I hope Stairway Games doesn't come for me!!) and the ornaments are by me and Freepik. Images are EA and Flaticons. Animations by EA and me.

More Toddler Sleep Positions
This is a very simple mod I've had lying around for a while and that I've kept forgetting to share, it adds 2 new sleeping positions for toddlers in their crib as shown in the picture below 😊
It does however modify the following Jazz file: ingame\sims\socialanims\toddler\sleep.jazz So it would be ideal to put in your overrides folder, but it can still go in your packages one.
If you have my other mod "More Toddler Interactions" this won't work with the help to sleep interaction as it uses it's own jazz script file.
Animations are my own. Enjoy and Happy Simming! 😊

[TS3] Less Banding
Haii honey buns!!! :3
This is an ASI mod for TS3 that addresses banding by giving the game a bit more color depth. Unlike my older attempt using shaders, this one doesn't have any weird artifacts!
Download: Patreon (Free)
Instructions are in the post. Simply drop wininet.dll and BandingFix.asi into your Game/Bin folder in your Sims 3 installation directory.
As a caveat, screenshots taken in-game will still appear banded as normal. You can get around this by using print screen or an external screenshot tool and using F10 to hide the UI.

📈 Added a subtle bulge for a touch of realism.
This is just the start — I’m planning to create more Bear Torso versions of EA outfits, so stay tuned for more upgrades!

Inventing Skill Reimagined by Argus
"To invent, is to be innovative. The Sims 3 Inventing Skill, which came with Ambitions, has a very interesting concept that became rather obsolete with later expansion packs, specially Into the Future.
How I came up with this mod: With the idea and the help of KittyTheSnowcat mod - Inventing Revamp: https://modthesims.info/d/601091/inventing-revamp.html, I was able to update the skill from Ambitions, adding objects that seemed worthy of being an innovative item in the sims world. The Goal, was to make Into the Future blend into our modern-day worlds, without having to buy futuristic objects from the Buy Catalog, which seemed odd to me, and not very lore-friendly.
I've taken KittyTheSnowcat's mod as a base, deleted all Store items from it, recategorized all skill levels for the inventions, changed some scrap requirements, added all original inventions back and fixed some missing items that showed up as undeletable white cubes ingame.
What is this mod? With this mod, inventing starts with simple toys and decoration in the first 2 levels. On level 3, things start to get interesting, since functional objects will begin to be available to be learnt. On level 4, some utility items and on level 5 through 7, the really nice sutff comes up from the future to help your daily routine. On level 8, wackyer inventions will turn your sim into a Mad Scientist, creating food, invading lots and abducting sims and changing the weather. On level 9, Teleportation comes into play, and you'll already be able to charge the new life you'll create. On level 10, you can travel through time and create real Androids. It seemed natural to me that inventing would lead to a new skill (the plumbot making) on its last level, so that's how I did it.

Average Polycount of EA Items in TS3: A Reference Sheet
I initially started this list as a personal “cheat sheet” that I could reference to ensure the custom content I'm downloading is appropriate for gameplay when it comes to polycount (and because I intend(ed) to learn how to make my own cc). I decided to share in case others find it useful.
I’m not a Maxis Match purist or anything like that, but purging high-poly CAS items from my cc folder eliminated in-game stuttering for me entirely. For some reason, this is rarely mentioned in discussions about gameplay optimization. Polycount does matter.
There’s a lot of absolutely gorgeous but incredibly high-poly cc out there that is simply not gameplay friendly for the average player. As we see an influx of first-time or rusty players migrating over from TS4, I think it’s important people are aware of this (both players and creators alike).
This might be a nonissue for those whose focus is on CAS and pretty screenshots, or maybe for those who have beastly gaming pcs/graphics cards etc.
But for players whose focus is on actual gameplay, high-poly cc can be detrimental.
With that said, below the cut you can find a list of average polycounts for some EA clothing/objects to use as a reference.
My method
I recorded the polycount of 10 items from each category below so that I could get a decent representation from each one to calculate the average. Since there is a wide range in some of the categories, I’ve opted to also include the minimum, median, and maximum for a clearer picture.
This list is not exhaustive; I feel like after a while, you kind of get the point. Also, this has been sitting on my computer for ages, and I don’t know if/when I will continue collecting data for it, so I figured I would just share what I have for now.

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐝
Another simple little automatic startup cheat that will hide head line effects for sims without the need to turn on the cheat yourself. There are two different flavors so please read the info :)
General Info: • Made with the Steam Version of The Sims 3 (Patch 1.67) • This mod automatically calls for TestingCheats to be enabled as True in order to work, so if you have Treeag's AutoTestingCheats mod, you can remove it. This mod will do it for you. Version One: Hides headline effects for everything EXCEPT the plumbomb. So if you have a plumbob replacement mod, it will still be visible. Version Two: Hides headline effects for EVERYTHING, just like the default cheat. ONLY CHOOSE ONE! Installation is as easy as dropping the mod into your mods folder 💕
੭·͡ᴥ·ʔ ੭ ☆゚.*・。゚Download SFS | Alternate
Please let me know if you encounter any problems💗Thank you to nerdy sister @mahriraesims, Pudding Face 1902 Youtube, MTS Tutorials, and @sunshinepixels for testing it out for me 😊✨

Medieval Bakery Set
At long last, it’s done!!! I converted several objects from the Kiolometro Medieval Bakery set [Found here: x ]
Stove
Display
Shelves
Dishes
Hay [Rug]
Hay Cart
Haystack [Large]
Haystack [Small]
Minor Issues that I wasn’t able to fix: [If any lovely people want to improve these objects please let me know so I can update them here]
- The bakery shelves have a strong shadow when placed against a wall.
-The dishes do not sit directly up against the wall, there’s a gap even though the mesh is technically a painting, but you can still move them up and down like you would a painting.
Notes:
- I scaled the hay on the floor to be bigger than the original set. The original was tiny and I didn’t like it.
- The haystacks I made recolorable, so you can make them look like piles of food, compost, garbage, [hay], coal, whatever you’d like them to be. I took the overlay off so there’s a geometric pattern on them in-game so don’t be alarmed.
- The display and shelves function as the bakery displays from the STORE SET [you will need these files for them to work properly] I tested them without the files and they work as regular shelves though so it should be fine.
- These objects are NOT recolorable. I tried, but the original files relied on the overlay so heavily that when I removed it the textures were blurry and stretched to the point they looked awful. So, I’m sorry for that. If I wind up fixing the issue in the future I’ll update them, I promise!
- I intend to make a bakers station version of the stove, and a savvy seller version of the shelves & display so stay tuned for that.
If anyone finds any other issues PLEASE let me know. This is my first conversion set, so I’m still learning.
To wrap up, I really hope y’all enjoy this set. I worked my ass off on it because I love you guys. Thank you to the long list of people who helped me on my project. Y’all are awesome, really.
* No paysites or adfly. Other than that, enjoy it. If you use it in your game I would love to see it!(:
