It’s kind of ironic that Wheatley from Portal 2 has become enshrined as the iconic example of fan-artists anthropomorphising everything under the sun as skinny, ambiguously twentysomething white dudes in dapper suits, given that he’s like the one character who actually deserves it.

The comment from the doc about how Weird it is that hussie is involved in the project is stupid too. Of fucking course she's involved. Homestuck's restoration is incredibly important. Making sure people have a place to read your comic now that so much of the technology it used is gone?? Providing something that will last?? That's important!!!!! Even though he's stepped back I 100% understand why they'd come back for this. Like no fucking shit ? A restoration project is different from being involved in a sequel or events or merch or literally anything else she has every reason to be involved in this specific project

homestuck is truly a transfeminine allegory. calliope, a girl whose physical appearance makes her so dysphoric that she presents herself online as a completely different species, is killed by the brother she shares a body with. from then on, he takes full control of the body and becomes a raging misogynist hellbent on destroying all of existence itself. only by finding a timeline in which calliope was the one who won control over caliborn can this be prevented. even then she's difficult to find, because she was destined to lose from the beginning and perish; she never had a chance to live. only when that version of calliope confronts her brother can she kill him, and save all of existence. following this, the gentler calliope from the alpha timeline was given the ring of life, which allowed her to finally, genuinely live. it isn't a subtle allegory at all, but I think it's profoundly beautiful.
