"whah!" Opal squeaked, her arm being shooketh with likely supernatural strength that she didn't possess even a fraction of.
Unfortunately her companion seemed more amused than willing to stop this. Though...
"Fangs? Oh. Do you mean Vanitas? Yes, he briefly lived here before ... Departing on his own terms." Coy. Unnecessary backstory that wasn't to be divulged with their new guest.
"P-Please stop shaking me..." The human weakly groaned, feeling absolutely winded.

This is my way of sending a starter. Idk what else to do for it 😅
Opal stares at this .... Not Vanitas?
"... I um. Wasn't expecting you."
The once fearsome and fluffy goddess was just.... Human. Boring and plain. Brown mussy hair, some eye bags of exhaustion and brown tired eyes. A little disappointing really.
"Oh! Hello, apologies for her. She was expecting someone else. I'm Star, this is Opal." The key was going to make pleasantries, especially if Opal was going to be rude about it.

Send me a △ and ask a really invasive question aimed at my character
They’ll have to:
Rate on a scale of 1-10 how much they don’t want to answer that question.
Answer that question.

Opal gently let go, moving to allow Vanitas back with his unversed. There was a little bit of disappointment, but she nodded anyway. Wouldn't do any good to push the issue.
"We'll return, I think it would be better if you came back sooner but you also need to get stronger to handle the Lanes. So... fine." Star seemed somewhat annoyed, but they couldn't exactly force the issue.
"In the meantime, we'll make sure Eggs, Rocks and Scribbles stay safe okay?" Opal quietly mentioned, "Just work on getting fed more, alright? I'll make sure your room is ready for you."
Some color seemed to return to her, a little bit of life. Perhaps it was partially from her darkness taken away. Perhaps it was the potential promise of having him back at home. Regardless, she was going to do right.
Vanitas barely responded. He needed to head back to his cave soon. The light from out here was too much in his weakened state, even with Opal's assistance that wasn't really doing anything.
Andrenidae knew this too and inched closer. The minute there was an opening she'd take Master back to safety.
"Pick me up in a week," he said as the ultimatum. Xigbar was going to visit sometime in the next three days. He just hoped he'd be gone before Opal got back.

... There was. A bit of surprise? Hope?
Opal's hands twitched over Vanitas', though Andrenidae's growling made sure she didn't suddenly move. He was exhausted, and she could imagine he wasn't up for moving long distances.
"Your room is the same. Though I imagine Eggs may have tidied it further. We have not moved any of your belongings besides what you requested to be brought here." Star helpfully added, happy that this all seemed to be settled so easily.
"... We don't have to go there now. The Lanes Between take a lot out of us." Opal muttered, her hands slowly moving to give her ward a little hug. It was something he could easily wriggle out of, even in his emaciated state. "... I'm. I'm going to be better. It's. Not going to be a linear path but when was it ever easy?"
"... Survival is good and all... but to be alive isn't just to scrape by all the time." Opal murmured. To live even as an entity you can experience so many things... But she supposed that was half the point.
Star was at least glad to see the two of them being civil and no craziness involved. She moved to be closer to the group, sitting across from Andrenidae to keep an eye on their masters.
"... Family is a complicated word. It's not always about what you were born with, but what you make of it too."

"... I'm. Sorry. That I used you for my own wants." Opal still felt guilty about it. But she couldn't exactly expect forgiveness. She knew she had hurt him, potentially forever now. Though there was that tiny small bit of hope she kept trying to squish down. Hope that he might come back like his Unversed wanted. Hope that the house wouldn't be cold and lonely. Hope that... Maybe he wants to just enjoy his life on his own without his kin hurting him.
"... I. Hope that this is feeding you enough." It sounded awkward, like she fumbled for some other topic to make it easier. It was... Still a concern to see those thin red cracks but at least they were better than before.
"You could return with us. Your Unversed think you might have been happier back at the house." Star unhelpfully supplied.
Vanitas closed his eyes, parts of his suit rotting away around the fingers. He didn't have the energy to keep it intact. As the suit peeled away, the red crack lines became visible, although they were much thinner than before, proving that whatever Invi had done had fixed at least part of the problem.
"Kin has only managed to hurt me so far," he whispered. "When will I learn to stop relying on them."
He was like a dog that waiting by the door for its owner to return, not understanding that they weren't coming back. Deep down, he wanted to believe what the Guardians of Light believed. That everyone had a place and was loved and cared for.
But his kin made that hard to cling to. In the end, he was just another pawn to be played.

Vanitas tensed, then sighed, leaning back. "They never do, to be honest. Darkness, as much as I hate to admit it, isn't family oriented. We were made for survival. It's only through outside influences that we grew to understand different forms of relationships."
He was way too tired right now and didn't even understand why he was saying what he did. Vanitas didn't have the energy to hide what he was thinking.
"Luxu was the first to show me what 'family' meant, and it only got worse once I became part of Ventus and Sora. I guess some sorry part of me thought that when the others said that we'd turn the world dark we'd be turning the world into family. Guess they were still dead set on survival."

Tic Tac and Toe flopped in front of Opal, lightly patting her head with their hand-like ears. Everywhere they touched, a sticker was placed. They have dubbed her the April Fool.
@not-someones-shadow
Opal was laying on the floor being a sad sack as usual. But now she was a sad sack that has been stickered up.
Star is cruel and takes several pictures.

She seemed hesitant but the idea of him starving until he was found was worse. Especially since Invi was still out there and... A spark of jealousy, rage, and... Fear? She couldn't do anything against the old Darkness, and Vanitas definitely couldn't fight back if she decided to break him apart again.
Opal just picked up Vanitas, sitting him in her lap and hugging him from behind. Is it laying on top of him? No. But it was a way to make sure he sat up. Her hands were still visible, mostly placed over his own.
"... I know my opinion doesn't matter but ... If anyone were to find you and it's Invi again I'd be worried. She didn't seem to care much about you..."
Star seemed just relieved they were able to be next to each other. That he would at least get something to eat. Opal did bring up a good point, the only Darkness they knew were potentially safe were Luxu and Ava... The others still haven't shown up. Hm...
Vanitas kept his face close to the ground, refusing to look at her. "I won't fade. Just go away until the others decide to come and get me. It's not that bad. Happened before."
Still, it was only at Andrenidae's prodding that Vanitas finally gave in. "Fine," he mumbled. "Just lay on top of me. I'll take it in that way."
Andrenidae seemed appeased, clicking happily as she watched Opal's next move carefully.

"You're not being anything. You're just getting fed. You're not being a monster." Star seemed almost impatient, like he's just being mopey for stupid reasons! Why can't he just take this easily accessible and willing meal?!
Opal stood on her own, moving closer to Vanitas. Did she deserve to be near him? No. But that pity was being overridden by the need to make sure he would be okay. The chains on her key tugged, but then relaxed and snaked away as she sat next to the Darkness and picked him up to be sitting on her lap.
"... Monsters need to eat too." she spoke quietly. Barely above a whisper. ".... I'm. I'm sorry I hurt you. But you shouldn't fade because of a dead old man."
Vanitas shook his head. As weak as he was, he'd still fight. "I don't want to be an animal anymore," he responded. "If it means starving, then so be it."
He couldn't crawl anymore, only lay there away from the safety of his darkened cave.
"I'm not going to. I won't. I won't be what he wanted me to be. I won't...."

"... She hurt you, I think you can hurt her. Even exchange." It sounded so simple coming out of her mouth. Like they really weren't super worried about what happened the last time Vanitas had bitten Opal, even when she was still a god and all powered up to go deal with some scientists that kidnapped him.
"... If.... If it makes you feel better." Was all that came out of Opal's mouth, the armor shimmering away. Those bags under her eyes looked heavy.
"C'mon. You can barely hold yourself up as it is." Star moved closer to Vanitas, hoping to pick him up to bring him into feeding range.
"I can't!" he yelled. "I'm not going near her! Not after what she did! Let me fucking rot you worthless weapon!"
He tried to drag himself back to the safety of his cave but stopped just short. Andrenidae, worrisome, nudged the carcass of the Nobody closer to him.
The Graveyard was scarce. Barely anything lived here unless they were brought here by some outside force. Meaning that Andrenidae had been going from world-to-world hunting for her master.
